Baby Squirrel Valentine by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I had to use the Nuts About You 4885 stamp set another time for two Valentine card's.  This time I chose to use the cute baby squirrel holding a huge nut.  I decided to do a unique fold to this card front and add several layers of different circle cuts using foam tape to set them apart.

I stamped the images onto Spectrum Noir paper using Intense Black Ink from Simon Says Stamp and colored the image using Copics.  My colors are listed below. I used a Sakura Black Glaze pen to add dimension to the squirrel's eyes.  I added Diamond Stickles to the heart.
I cut the squirrel image using Lifestyle crafts Nesting Die Circles. I fussy cut the nuts.  I used the Lori Whitlock Framelits W/ Stamps set to cut out all of the layers.  The paper collection is the MME Lost and Found Heirloom 6x6 Collection. Everything is edged in Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Ink.

The card base is really simple.  I just cut my 8 1/2' x 11' piece of paper to 4 1/2' x 11'.  the I scored it at 5 1/2" like normal.  For this design, I scored the front piece in another 1 1/4" in.  I use a strong adhesive to tape down the 1 1/4" piece to make my card.

Copics Used:
Squirrel - E33, YR14, E37, RV10, E31
Nut - (Spectrum Noir RB1, RB3)
Lid - E35, E37, E49
Heart - RV10, RV13
Shadow - C-3, C-1, blender

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Day!
