Hello Watercolor Friends,

This is my card for the Art Impressions Watercolor Weekend roundup. I wanted to set up a pretty Spring scene. I used quite a few stamps to make it. See the list below:

My project for today’s Watercolor Weekend is a cute little notecard, “FLOWERS”.

Begin by inking up the door stamp in two colors, first African Violet then Sepia to create a lovely greyish color and stamp in the middle of your watercolor paper. Pull the color from the lines using water and your watercolor brush. Scribble a little Salvia Blue onto your palette and brush onto for the walls. Stamp the wall texture in Brownish Grey. Add in the vines/foliage with Olive Green at the base, left side and above the door. Stamp in the flower in Olive Green and Iris Purple at the base of the door. Stamp in the tiny dot flowers inUltramarine for the climbing flowers and stamp the three cone shape flowers upside down to look like wisteria in Violet. Add Salvia Blue to your palette and brush in the window panes on the door. Scribble a bit of African Violet and Sepia, mix together to create that greyish color on your palette and brush onto the door plate. Darken up the door knob with African Violet. I lost my highlight on the door knob so I drew it in using a Signo White Pen. Draw in the “FLOWERS” sign using Sepia for the wood plank and the string in African Violet. Write the word FLOWERS using the fine tip of African Violet.

I stamped the basket from the 4871 – WC Rustic Container Set using Sepia. I stamped the bunny from the 4874 – WC Bunnies Set using the Stamp Positioner to put the bunny into the basket. I masked the bunny and stamped foliage from the 4051 – WC Foliage Set 1 and flowers from 5008 – WC Flower Set 3 into the basket. I added grasses from the 5007 – WC Foliage Set 3 set and flowers from the 4052 – WC Flower Set 1 set to the bottom of the basket and added a sky. I added the sentiment from the 4886K – Easter Blessings set using my MISTI. Check out my blog for all the details.

Beautiful projects - one and all, but I am especially loving scenes built with the door and wall texture.
