An outdoorsy wedding

Hello Ai Fans!

Today I'm sharing a fun and modern wedding stamp called Bride and Groom (sku #P3086).  My friend needs a wedding card for a wedding she's attending in Colorado in a couple of weeks.  She said that the couple are very "outdoorsy" people so I Incorporated the barn board, the white sparkly flourishes with leaves and a fall colored flower to achieve that look.

Don't forget to check out Art Impressions Whoots.
They're perfect for Halloween cards!!

Jumbo Dancer

I love this little lady! She's such a fashionista!

Stamp: Art Impressions Jumbo Dancer.
Pattern Paper: Cosmo Cricket's Upcycle
Markers: Copic W0, 2, 4 and Spica Glitter Pens
Dies: Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle

I used Copic's Spica glitter pens to color the purse, flower, and the dancers dress. I also used the same Spica pens to outline the yellow and grey decoration on the card. You can see the lines of grey the best.

I'm not much for fussy cutting, but, this was too fun not to. Besides, I had the perfect papers to do it! A few things to keep in mind when you're fussy cutting... I like to cut INSIDE the stamped line. That way, if I mess up a little bit, it's okay, because I always use my black Memento marker to line the cut piece. So, after I cut out her dress I held my marker at an angle and gave the dress an outline. Why do I do that instead of cutting outside the stamp line? Because, that would be TOO easy! No, no... doing it this way allows the line around the dress to be the same thickness. So it's not darker, or thicker in one area than another. I'm a tad bit OCD, please don't tell my hubby, I've been denying it for years! :)

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend! xo

Whoo's Birthday ????

Hello Ai Fans !!!
Today I decided to make a birthday card and tag for the present using the Whoots set called Birthday Whoot sku # 4125. I have wanted this set from the first time I laid eyes on it and today I was able to get it out and play , I had so much fun that I could not stop at just a card , I went ahead and made a matching tag for the present too.

to make the card a chose an 5.5 " by 5.5" card base  in a pale sky blue , I then added stitching in brown sharpie to outer most edge , I then chose to use some designer paper that had presents on it Momenta Let's Party paper stack
I cut it at 5 1/4" by 5 1/4"  , I glued this to the top of card
next I stamped the Whoot on SU Natural Ivory paper and colored with copic markers , I then created clouds around him using a new product I found at my local scrapbook store PanPastel , its an amazing chalk , the color used is Phthalo Blue Tint 560.8 then to apply it I used a brushstix , it has a firm foam tip .
next I cut him out with a new Sizzix set I just  bought called Fancy Labels
I cut him out and then added him to the inside of the card , I wanted to make a window on the front so  I place some painters tape on the die and flipped it cut side up over the image and then when i close my card it will stick to the front where the window needs to cut , now run it thru the Big Shot , tah-dah , you now have a window placed perfectly .
I added some goggle eyes to the Whoot and with a white gel pen added stitching around the window on the front , I also added bakers twine bows to the presents and used my startdust shimmer pen to add sparkle to the stripes on the presents( pics don't pick this up so well ) then I stamped Happy Birthday  sku # E3578

I added stitching in SU Island Indigo around the whoot , I added balloons and bakers twine strings , the Sentiment I used inside was the Birthday Whoots set SKU # 4125
GIFT TAG
Next I made a matching tag to go on the present  , the tag base is a manila shipping label tag
also from same Birthday Whoots set SKU # 4125 , I added a green glitter tulle bow
Supplies : Birthday Whoots set SKU# 4125 , Happy Birthday sku # E3578 , copic markers , PanPastel chalk in Blue ,Sizzix Fancy Labels die , bakers twine ,white gel pen ,SU Island Indigo marker ,brown fine sharpie,Stardust glitter pen, goggle eyes

Friends Who Laugh

Hello Ai Fans! This week I'm working on a card for my girlfriend.

We have women in our lives who are special to us - they support us, they encourage us, they tell us the absolute truth (which we need to hear), and they make us laugh. And, we do the same for them. Many of the Girlfriend images captures those moments. I'm using this image because it captures the laughter for me - I just got back from a trip with one of my girlfriends, Gail. We had the most wonderful time!! Our husbands went too. :o) We all had a ball. As we were having breakfast one morning, a woman at the next table said you all are having just too much fun. We invited her over. :o)

I stamped the image onto Cryogen cardstock, colored it with Copics and cut it out. I dig how the images goes outside the white layer.

Copic Marker colors: 0, C00, C5, C9, BV0000, BV00, BV01, BG11, BG13, B91, B95, B97, R02, R37, R81, R83, R85, RV04, E000, E00, E11, E13, E19, E25, YG00, YG03, YG23, Y11

List of Supplies Used: Stamps - Comfy on Couch Set (Sku#4050); Paper - Neenah Solar WhiteCryogen, Bo-Bunny Design; Coloring/Ink - Copic MarkersMemento Black ink pad; Accessories - Spellbinders Die Cuts

Thanks for visiting!

Take care and STAY POSITIVE!

Off she goes...

Good morning Ai friends, I hope you had a fabulous weekend!  It's starting to feel like fall in New England, which inspired me to use some pretty fall colors.  Here is a super fun card that I made with the Mad Rider Set, love her, she is totally awesome!  She is rushing home after an awesome shopping trip from the local scrapbooking store, it's so me.  Well, not to mention the sweet orange bike, totally cool!

To create the background, I also used the Door (UM3386) and the signage from the Scrap/Stamp set (UM3528).   And here is the close up, did you see her sparkly shoes, hehe?!  Plus, she also has an adorable passenger at the back, my kitty Stewie.

Goodies that I used:
Ai Mad Rider Set (sku #4101)
Door (UM3386)
Scrap/Stamps set (UM3528)
Creative Imaginations Orchard Harvest paper pad
Bazzill cardstock

Grateful Hearts

Hello Ai Fans!

Today I'm sharing with you a Thanksgiving card that I made. I used two phrases from Art Impressions on my card.

Happy Thanksgiving (sku#F1655)
Thanksgiving Starts (sku#J1676)

The flower was made using a Tim Holtz die and the flourishes are from two Sizzlitts.
I made the pin myself and the border is from Martha Stewart.

Dancing Try Folds

Well doesn't that sound interesting? Dancing Try Folds... made me chuckle a bit. :) Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

When I first got the try folds I went crazy! I made two different cards, one the correct way... and one... well, my way! So here's the card, the correct way...

One thing I didn't think of when I had first stamped this out was that the ink would bleed through. I kind of like the look, but, I painted over it anyways. I thought it would look better if I had painted over it- It also made the card a little more sturdy. In case you missed the first post with the video about the Try Folds, you can see that post here. I really like the Try Folds, in fact I have another one to show you in a week or two!

So, are you wondering about the dancing part... well, I didn't think it would be fair to show you something you've already seen in a video. So I thought I would share a video I had done a few months ago. It shows a very different coloring technique using alcohol based markers that hasn't been shared on the Art Impressions blog yet. In this particular video, I'm using Letraset's Pro/FlexMarkers. This is one of my favorite techniques, and can be used with any alcohol based marker. It helps to dull the very bright colors you may want to use, but refrain from doing because of their saturation.

The stamp I used in the video is called Dancers.

If you use this technique, I'd love to see what you create! Feel free to share your link in the comment section so I can see it!
