Ballet Class

Hello Ai Fans !
Today's card was a collaboration with my 7 year old daughter, Zoe .
I showed Zoe the new Ai people Yolanda Yoga (new to release soon) stamp and then we brainstormed about what I should do to showcase the awesome stamp. I wanted her to have a tutu from tulle and then Zoe wanted her to have a mirror wall like in dance class and then we made a wood floor by cutting 1/4" strips and then embossing with wood grain folder and then stagger the strips and inked the raised grain. We also thought we should have a chandelier with a little shimmer using the clear star glitter pen. We just wanted to show you can change-up the look of your stamps. Yolanda also came with this cute sentiment " Stay balanced... Chocolate in each hand." This is so how my daughter thinks... lol!
I hope you love what we came up with today!  I love creating with Zoe, she may only be 7, but she has a very creative mind... my mini me : )

Stamping Many Christmas Cards

Hello Ai Fans! This week I'm working on a quick, yet pretty Christmas card.

If you have a lot of relatives and friends to send cards too, you'll want a design that you can duplicate easily. I used this sweet Charity Angel (Sku#T4177) as my focal point.  First, I inked her up with metallic ink, stamped her onto white cardstock, sprinkled emboss powder and heat set.  I cut my card stock in half so it would fit through my Cuttlebug when I cut the shapes. I stamped three angel on each half sheet. Some of them will be circles and some will be rectangle. I'll use the same basic design, and mix it up a little.

I used a gold leafing pen to add edging around the circle. I thought that was faster than cutting several gold layers. :o) I stamped the sentiment Glory to God (Sku#G4174) on the inside with the gold ink pad.

Happy Birthday You Old Buzzard

Hello Ai fans!!

Yesterday a good friend of mine turned 40.  We tourned the wineries in the Finger Lakes and then went to her country club for dinner.  There were 16 of us in all and it was so much fun!!  We didn't do gag gifts but I just had to include this "old buzzard" with my real gift.  She got quite a kick out it and was thrilled when she found her favorited Swedish Fish inside the jar.

I spray painted the jar and lid and once it dried I wrapped it in designer paper.
Next I added the buzzard and a tombstone from Sizzix.  Last, I added the black lace and fuzzy ribbon.  I thought the ribbon looked "feathery".

I posted her card a while back but here's a reminder of what I made.

Dancers with Jessica Griffin

Hello dear AI fans! Today I want to share with you the Dancers Set.

I did a quick video on the technique I used to color these sweet ladies. This technique can be used with any brand of alcohol based marker. In the video I've used Letraset Flex and ProMarkers.

I hope you enjoy the video! I had so much fun coloring this image. It certainly was a challenge coloring each of them with different color hair!

This will be my last post on the AI blog, I'd love it if you followed me on my personal blog, or FaceBook even. I've really enjoyed using Art Impression's images, and the ladies are so much fun to work with! Thank you all for a really great few months! xo

Harvest Friendship

Hello and happy Friday! This is my very first Ai "Try" Fold card. I LOVE trying new things! These are really FUN. All the Ai Try Fold stamps come with easy to understand instructions. I LOVE that! It makes it a breeze to cut the correct size cardstock, and how to score it once you have your cardstock cut to size. Then you hand cut the two front folds per the instructions. Very neat look! The Ai Try Fold stamp set I used is the Harvest TF, SKU# 4205. Such a pretty harvest scene, perfect since I live in farming country.
The first thing I colored in was the sky behind the barn and trees. I used my Prisma Color pencils and gamsol for the sky. Then I decided to use my copic markers to color the rest of the images. I am new to coloring with copic's/alcohol markers, and it was fun to use them because you get a "watercolor" look with them. The above image shows the card's front with the two folds closed.

Here is a picture with the first fold opened and you can see the cute pumpkin cart.

Here is the inside of the card with both folds opened. I stamped the inside with the beautiful sentiment "Sow kindness harvest friendship" that comes with the Harvest TF stamp set SKU# 4205 . Since I colored my images with copic markers, it's normal for the ink to bleed through the white cardstock. I didn't want that to show through, so I mounted the base of my card onto a two pieces of layered cardstock, cut slightly larger, and rounded the top corners. For the two hand-cut folds, I just traced around each panel on white cardstock; cut those out slightly smaller and glued them down so it covered the color bleed.  It makes it look a bit cleaner, and I wanted to give it a try. I hope you enjoyed this little creation today. Thanks for stopping by the Ai blog! Hope you have a great weekend!
