NEW VIDEO - Vintage Truck Mini Watercolor

Hello Ai Fans!

Welcome to a NEW Watercolor Wednesday and the first video featuring our 2018 Watercolor releases!

Our new WC Truck Mini Set was made with masculine cards in mind! This vintage truck is perfect to fill with any foliage, produce, or twigs for your working guy! Bonnie starts by inking the image in her #86 African Violet and #45 Sepia Marvy markers. She pulls the colors from the lines, but leaves highlights on the top of the curved area and sides of the truck. Next, she uses a sticky note to mask the truck bed to add tiny buds from our new WC Mini Flower Set, and adds them down around the tires. She then adds vines and tall grasses from our new WC Foliage 3 Set to set the scene. To finish, she adds a wash of sky and darker blue shadows to the truck.

We hope you enjoy this new video and check out the first six Watercolor sets being released March 1 at artimpressions.com!

Happy Watercolor Wednesday!

Easter Blessing by Dana Warren

Hello AI fans!!

Easter is fast approaching! AI has lots of Easter sets, a new one last year is Easter Blessings with super cute images!

First, I stamped and colored the rabbit in the sunflower. I used the following Spectrum Noir markers to color the image: CT1, CT3, CT4, EB1, EB2, FS7, LG2, LG3, LG5. Nest I fussy cut the image out.

From my stash, I found some old DoodleBug orange flower pattern paper, which I adhered to a white card base. Then with watercolor cardstock, I used distress ink to make the paper yellow and orange, trimming it so the orange pattern paper could be seen on the sides.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the panel, then wrapped some twine around it. I added the sentiments and a few sequins and last added the bunny.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy Stamping!!

Blessings to You Shaker card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I wanted to use 4758 Blessings to You Mini Try Fold stamp set in a way that was different than intended.  I know you're all shocked! LOL!  I decided to make a shaker card that has two sections of different colored sequins.

I started my card with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and four Distress Inks. I sponged on the color with the mini ink blending tools with the round foam applicators on them.  I used Spun Sugar, Scattered Straw, Bundled Sage and Weathered Wood.  When I had applied all of the colors I wanted to my paper, I spritzed them with a Distress sprayer.I let the water sit on the paper for about 30 seconds before I dabbed it off with a paper towel.  Then I sprinkled on a mixture of water and Perfect Pearls colored Perfect Pearls and left it to dry.

Once my paper was dry, I stamped the image with the tulips from the Mini Try Fold stamp set along the bottom of the card with Jet Black Archival ink. I also stamped the other two images  onto a half piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I stamped one on top of the other.  Then I used a #4 brush and Marvy LePlume II Markers to color in the images.  I scribbled the marker color onto my Ai watercolor Palette and lifted the color off of my palette with my brush and water colored with it. I used Magenta 20, Suede 90, Olive Green 15Sepia 45, and Prussian Blue 29. Once my images were colored, I used the matching die to cut out the window from the top watercolor panel.  I also cut out the words Happy Easter along the top of the piece of watercolor paper.

I cut a piece of acetate to the same size as my top watercolor panel. I used glossy accents to glue it behind the panel.  I also glued all of the negative parts of the Happy Easter words. I added a double layer of foam tape all around the back of the panel to create and area to hold the sequins.  I wanted two separate areas of color, so I put foam tape between the words and the bunny scene. When I added the foam I was sure that I didn't have any gaps where the sequins could get out. I went with a variety of colored sequins for the top section that went behind the words.  I added a very small amount of 4mm clear sequins behind the area with the bunny image.  I added the sequins in a pile over onto the flat card and attached the top of the card over it so the I had perfect placement.  Once I secured everything, my card was finished.

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Day!

love birds by Diane Zechman

Hello Ai friends and happy Monday!

Today I am sharing a card using one of the Ai Store Exclusives Sets. Here I used AiCS27- Love Birds. I tend to grab the fabulous main images in these sets and overlook the equally adorable smaller ones so this time I wanted to focus on the littles!

With Valentine's Day this month, I thought I would go with the "love" theme while it's still on our minds...February is almost over! This card would be great for an anniversary, though, any time of the year.

I embossed the black & white panels together with the "Love is patient, love is kind" verse from 1 Corinthians 13. Then I punched the heart out and adhered the panels to my card base. The birds were colored with Copics and popped up on the diecut leaves. How many of you still have bottles of paper flowers in your stash? Once in a while I still enjoy using them and they were perfect to use for an accent. I filled in the hearts and made a few small dots with a white pen.

Here's the inside of my card.

Have a great Monday and… happy stamping!

Flamingo Wiggle Wobble set by Cheri Burry!

Hello Ai Fans!
Today I am sharing with you the adorable "Flamingo Wiggle Wobble" set from Art Impressions.
The "Wiggle Wobble" Line of stamps are just too cute and make such a fun interactive card for your recipient.
I made my own backgrounds by using some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. I added some of the inks to my craft pad and then spritzed then with water. Then just drag your paper through the ink for a cool look! It looks really cool if you add some ink splatters too. The Flamingo is so easy to put together! The set comes with the stamps, dies and some mini brads to put it together with. Then all you have to do is use the mini action wobble that comes with the set to pop up your wiggly image!
For this card I just used some ink splatters and paper from the Echo Park I'd Rather Be Crafting collection. For a different look I just added the heads of the flamingos to this card.
I also added some gold and white ink splatters to this background using a paintbrush.
Just look how cute the "Flamingo Wiggle Wobble" is in action!
Copics Used:
RV04, RV06, FRV1
YR04, YR07
C7, C8, C10

Speedy Recovery by Dana Warren

Hello AI fans!!

The Catastrophy Set is perfect if you are a cat lover or know one!! Several images and lots of funny sentiments are perfect for cat lovers!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the cat with the collar and then using my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it. I used: BO3, BO4, GB3, IG2, Blender. Then I used a stitched rectangle to cut out the image.

I picked out some pink and gold pattern paper, one pattern was pink with gold dots and I used a stitched rectangle to cut it out and adhered it to a grey card base. From a pink triangle pattern, I cut just a little bit bigger than the stamped rectangle.

I found from my stash some gold washi tape and I added three stripes of it on the polka dot paper lengthwise. Then I added the image and other pattern paper on top with foam tape.

I stamped the Wishing Your Furry Friend a Speedy Recovery sentiment and notched one end. I added the sentiment with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!!
