Penguin Shaker card by Crystal

Hello Ai Fans !!
It's Crystal here  , today with a heavy heart I am making my card for my last post with Ai , my term has come to an end and I must say good-by , I hope you have enjoyed my creations and will still come visit me on my blog www.8upscrapin.com ,come by and sign up with your email to keep seeing my posts . Today's card is a shaker card using Penguins  , Sledding Penguins sku#Q3062 and Decorating penquins sku # T3055 and Merry Christmas sku#G4166 .

I am going to walk you thru how I made this card
first I stamped the Sledding Penguins sku#Q3062  and then make a mask of that image

next I lay mask of the stamped image and ink up only the tree on the Decorating penquins sku # T3055 and stamp the tree over the sledding image
shaker card for Ai 004
now I have a tree behind my sledding image

next I need a foam frame to seal in my goodies for my shaker card , so to do this I use two sizes of my oval die and cut a ring from fun foam , I also used the biggest of the two dies and cut an oval from plastic ( I use the plastic my dies or embossing folders come in )
shaker card for Ai 006
I color my image and the used glossy accents to glue foam frame to image cut , add in my shaved ice flakes and diamond dust for shaker stuff , add glossy accents and top with the plastic oval
shaker card for Ai 010
next I use the smallest die to make a frame to cover my image use foam tape at corners to keep frame level at corners
shaker card for Ai 008
add the snowflake frame over the oval the enclosed shaker again glossy accents to adhere shaker to paper frame ( I use glossy accents because it works best for gluing plastic )
shaker card for Ai 012
my next tip .. when punching snowflakes out glitter paper is often too thick to punch so this is what I do , I use Sizzix adhesive sheets to add glitter to my punches , first peel one side if the adhesive off and adhere to paper , punch your shape then peel off the other layer of adhesive sheet and sprinkle on glitter , rub in to glue and there you have it a perfect glitter shape and no harm to your punch . I got my adhesive sheet from Stampin Up

my finished card

Happy Black Friday!

Hello Ai friends, and happy "Black Friday". I've only gone shopping once in my life on "the day after Thanksgiving", and let's just say once was enough for me! I'd rather be at home stamping! So without further delay... onto today's creation! I LOVE making Christmas cards! And I absolutely LOVE this super cute Art Impressions stamp of "Decorating Penguins", SKU# T3055. This image just makes me smile. Who doesn't love penguins? And this image was so much fun to color in with alcohol markers. I thought I would give Cryogen Metallic cardstock a try. And let me tell you, I LOVE this paper is all I can say! It is great for alcohol markers, as I used a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. It is really pretty because there are little metallic flecks in the paper. You can see them in my close up shot.

If you click on the photo you will get a larger view. Cryogen is super smooth for alcohol marker coloring, and the colors blend together like a dream.
I made the base of the card with kraft cardstock. Then used a layer of Real Red cardstock from Stampin Up! Its a really nice bright red for Christmas. Next I chose a really cute Cosmo Cricket 6"x6" Christmas designer paper pad that I purchased last year that I still LOVE. I used three coordinating papers and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink, then sewed them onto the kraft base. I wanted to add some texture to my card, so I embossed a piece of red cardstock with "Petals A Plenty" embossing folder from Stampin Up. For embellishments I added some clear crystals from Hero Arts, and a snowflake I die cut. I didn't have a lilac crystal, so I used a lilac colored copic marker and custom colored it.

I stamped the inside with a BRAND new Ai Christmas sentiment stamp, SKU# G4169. Love that sweet and simple sentiment. I added a few snowflakes (very old Hero Arts stamp) in blue dye ink.  I hope you enjoyed this fun Christmas card creation. Thank you for stopping by the Art Impressions blog today! Happy Stamping!
