Birthday Laugh Lines By Jessica Shier

Hey everyone!

Today I'm sharing a birthday mashup! I thought it would be funny to combine two sets from Art Impressions, the Birthday Laugh Lines with the Yoga set. This ole' guy has some stretching to do!

To start off with I stamped the Birthday Laugh Lines guy on to a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. I did the same for the Yoga ladies too. Using Copic markers I colored them in, list of markers used below.  I also stamped the sentiment that I thought paired hilariously with these two images. I inked that up with Gina K Wild Wisteria ink and trimmed it down to a slim rectangle.

I wanted the ole' guy in the foreground with the ladies in the background. So I trimmed most of the area on the guy's left, using a trimmer to get straight edges when I didn't have to fussy cut.  These are both larger images and this is an A2 (4.25 x 5.5inch) card so there wasn't a lot of room to place these funny people. Both images are brightly colored so I needed something to separate the two. For that I used some vellum cardstock. This worked and gives a window feel to the design; like the Yoga ladies are in another room.

I also created a black cardstock edge, using the Art Impressions Rectangle Stitch die, second from largest. Then used the same rectangle die on the ole guy so that the panel fit into the black frame. All I had left to do after that was layer and adhere everything. The layers are; Neenah 110lb cardbase, Yoga ladies, vellum, Birthday guy/black frame and then the sentiment.

Your Friendship Makes My Heart Sing! By Crystal

Hi Ai fans!

Did you get a chance to see Bonnie on HSN last week? I did it was so fun to watch! This mansion set I played with this week was featured. I also played with this Garden add on stamp/die set. I had so much fun with this set I made two different cards to share with you this week.

I stamped everything in with a alcohol save ink.

I fussy cut both houses out. And then ran the houses through my die cutting machine to cut the windows out and make the top window and door open.

I die cut all of the accessory pieces out with the coordinating dies. I adhered both houses to different patterns of paper with foam tape.

I embellished both cards with the Garden add on stamp/die set pieces that I had colored and die cut out. Lastly I adhered both card panels to a 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" card base.

Home Grown Eagle Window By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai fans!

This month I'm using some of the Windows to the World stamps. This Eagle window caught my eye, and with it getting warmer in the Northwest, Americana decor is popping up everywhere! Today is also Flag Day (June 14th, 1777) in America. Perfect time to combine the eagle with these red white and blue pattern papers.

I first stamped the Eagle Window image with Gina K. Amalgam ink and colored it in with Copic markers, colors listed below. I used a Gelly Roll white pen to add a few highlights through out the image.  This went really quick and I also used minimal markers. Images like these window stamps, are great for the summertime, when we might be a bit more busy. All of them  are so picturesque,  they can simply and easily be the focal point to any card front.

This image has a beautiful sentiment that surrounds the square image but I trimmed that off and added a sentiment "Home Grown" from the Succulent set. I thought that sentiment fit so well and I really enjoy mixing stamp sets together. I knew I wanted to add a gold border with embossing powder around it. This is easily done by swiping your clear embossing ink pad across all the edges.

The pattern paper I used for today's card is from the Pebbles America paper pack. Unfortunately it is another bundle of pattern paper that I've stashed away for years, I've linked to a similar one below. I love that I am using my pattern paper more instead of hoarding it! To add a bit more stars I used a die set from Papertrey Ink and die cut the three sketch stars from vellum. I adhered those to the card in a cluster with liquid glue and added the heat embossed sentiment "Home Grown" from the Art Impressions Succulent set. I left the inside blank. This card could be used for anything, from celebrating someone in the military, to July Fourth greetings to a friend.

NO Talkie *before* COFFEE! by Crystal

Hello Ai fans!

Who has to start their day with a coffee? I do every morning it is the first thing I do is pour a cup of coffee.

Art Impressions has so many fun coffee stamp sets. This week I played with the Hot Java Mama set.

I started by stamping this fun lady onto smooth card stock with Memento black ink and colored her in with alcohol markers.

I die cut her out using a Rounded Rectangle double stitched die. I stamped the sentiment "NO TALKIE  *before* COFFEE!" (which is so me and I love it!) next to her in a brown ink. Underneath the sentiment in a different shade of brown ink.

I matted the colored image onto Kraft card stock then matted that onto some striped pattern paper. I adhered the whole panel to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base. I love this card so much that lady is too much fun and that sentiment makes me giggle every time.

Road Trip | Father's Day Card By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai Fans!

Today I'm sharing a fun card using the Road Trip set. I thought this would be fun to make a comic book style card where you fill in die cut shapes with stamps.

I started with die cutting a panel of white cardstock using Art Impressions Square Double Stitch dies and a few rectangle dies. I made sure to check to see if the stamps would fit in the die cut pieces before cutting. I did use some of the dies twice to get the desired look.

On another Neenah 80lb cardstock panel I took the die cut piece and placed it over it, then traced the die cuts with a pencil. Now that I had a layout of where to stamp I began doing so with some black ink. A few of the stamps are a bit larger then the die cut areas I had mapped out for them. I used a post it note to mask off those overhangs so that the images would only be in their designated areas.

I started coloring all my images with Copic Markers, listed below. I stamped the car and the lunch box so that I could fussy cut those out. I wanted to layers those over the top to add some dimension. I also took one of the sentiments from the Road Trip set and heat embossed it 3 times on black cardstock using white embossing powder. Then trimmed off the excess paper so that there was a bubble effect around the sentiments.

I used my ATG to adhere the die cut panel over top of the copic colored images and attached the sentiments. For the inside I used a sentiment from the Art Impressions Hop Hop set, which says "Admit it life would be boring with out us"! I can easily add a die cut sentiment that says Happy Father's Day, to make this a fun and slightly out of the box Dad card. I know, when I was little, I often asked my dad, "Are we there yet?!" on family road trips!

Hedge-Hugs to You! By Crystal

Hi Ai fans!

This week I played with this adorable Funny Farm stamp set Hedgehogs. They are just the cutest but I say that about almost ever set I use from Art Impressions.

I started by die cutting an oval out of smooth card stock with an Oval double stitched die. I first stamped the cute little guy holding the balloon since I wanted him to be in the front. I then masked him off with a full stick post-it note. I then stamped the second hedge hog which is leaning on the cacti planter. I colored them in with alcohol markers.

I die cut a rectangle using a Double stitched rectangle die. Matted the oval centered on the rectangle. I die cut a banner to fill in some of the blank space on the background. Then I die cut a A2 rectangle to matte everything on which I did off centered to the left.

I stamped the sentiment bellow the two hedgehogs. I adhered the whole panel to a 5 1/2"x 4 1/4" card base. I thought their was too much white space above the hedgehop sitting down so I added a heart and a couple sequins and that finished off the card today.

Hope Your Day is PAND-tastic! By Crystal

Hi Ai fans!

I loved playing with the Panda-tastic set so much last week I'm back with another card using the same set.
I think this set of three panda bears are so cute on their own that they make making a card really fast.

I stamped the three pandas in the center of a Double stitched rectangle then I masked them off with a full stick post-it note. I used a polka dot stencil and Tim Holtz Distress ink for the background. I blended some of the colors to get more then four different color polka dots on my background.

I used a polka dot embossing folder to add a little bit of dimension to the cardstock that I matted my panda bears on. I adhered my whole panel to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" card base.

Panda Bear-ista! by Crystal

Hi Ai fans!

I loved Pandas as kid and well I still do they are just so darn cute. So this week I have a card to share using the new Pand-tastic stamp set.

I started by stamping the panda bear onto the center of a die cut Double Stitched circle. Then I stamped the image again onto some pattern paper. I colored in the panda bear which is super fast.

I fussy cut the mug out and adhered it over the first image I stamped. I also inked the edge of the die-cut circle with distress ink. to stamp the sentiment "BEAR-ista!" I used a piece of acetate to curve it to follow the shape of the circle then stamped it. I die cut to different size of the Rectangle Double stiched dies to place the circle on. I also used the Flag Double Stitched dies to tuck under the circle.
