Chibitronic Lighthouse Circlet MTF Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

This card was a bit out of my comfort zone because it was the first time I've ever used Chibitronic lights on a card.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are very simple to use and the results are stunning.  I used the Lighthouse Circlet MTF to create a 5" x 7" top fold card that lights up when you push where directed. You can't tell from the photo's, but the light is right behind the top of the lighthouse and lights up the sky and the yellow rays coming from the lighthouse.
The images were stamped onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. The top two  images were cut out using the matching dies that come with the circlet set and a Circle Double Stitched Die.   This was all placed over the 5" x 7" card.  A layer of blue paper and patterned paper from the Recollections Sea Glass 6" x 6"paper collection were attached to the card base before a circle cut out  for the circlet image to be attached.
The inside of the card is two layers.  The main layer has the third layer of the Circlet and the Chibitronic light and circuits.  The directions on how to create the circuits were included with the light kit.  It is surrounded by a triple layer of foam tape. The middle Circlet layer was attached over a circle of patterned paper that was attached to a full layer of patterned paper that was attached to a layer of card stock.  The stamper circle saying PUSH was placed over the battery on the light.  When it is pushed, the light will light up illuminating the entire open area behind the lighthouse.

Seas the Day | By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai Fans!

I have another Flip card to share with you today. This time I'm using the Octopus Flip card set. These flip card stamp sets make such cute little scenes and you can have them hold up the sentiment in so many different ways. This time I used a die from the Flag Double Stitch Die set to have the octopus hold a flag sentiment.

I started by stamping the octopus flip image on to a piece of Neenah 80lb Solar White card stock, with Amalgam ink. Using purple orange, pink and blue Copic markers to color in my image. I left just a bit of the image white like I do a lot when coloring. While coloring the Octopus I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the background. I decided on a simple underwater scene.
All the Copic markers I used are listed below. The sand was easy, simple blending of some E markers adding a little definition and interest. I wanted this simple because I knew I was going to ink blend over the top of it. I added texture with a few of the darker markers by adding small dots through out the sand. For the water I did streaks or flicks of blue starting with the darkest color at the top, then fading to the lightest blue. Also adding more of the darker colors through out the panel.

I used Distress Oxide ink in Faded Jeans and Frayed Burlap to darken the edges. Using the makeup blending brushes I was able to get pretty close to the image with out masking or inking over it. I also blended Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade on a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock, that I trimmed down with the second to largest Rectangle Double Stitch die. I concentrated the color around the outer edge because I knew it would mostly be covered by the Octopus copic colored panel.  I adhered those panels together then added a black card stock layer below the orange and pink blended card stock before gluing everything to a side fold A2 card base.

I used both sentiments that come with the Octopus Flip stamp set. Stamping them onto Neenah 80lb card stock with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I let the ink sit for a moment to dry before running it through my die cutting machine with the banner die from the Flag Double Stitch die set.

I could have made the inside similar to the front but I kept it simple and easy. I used a smaller Art Impressions Rectangle Double Stitch die and stamped the flip image of the Octopus. Using the same Copic markers I mirrored the coloring. The points of the flag should be on the other side to make it more mirrored, but that is ok!

Oh Frap by Niccole Kulig

Hello Ai fans!!

I am here today to share a fun card I made using the Spring Chicken set from Art Impressions.  This set is so fun.
The first thing I did was choose my stamps. I absolutely LOVE this chicken from the Spring Chicken set.  From there I chose my paper.
I colored my chicken with my Copic markers.  The list of colors I used is at the end of this post. I stamped my sentiment bottom center and I raised my chicken up with foam tape.
I wanted to show a close up so you could see all of the layers used.  There are seven layers of paper to this card.
Here is one more look at the card.  I added Wink of Stella to her glasses and her coffee and steam.  I was going to add Crystal Effects to her glasses but I though the Wink of Stella added just as much shimmer with out the dry time. I had a lot of fun putting this card together.  I even sat and put together a few backgrounds for future cards after all of the measuring. for each layer.

Old Goat's Club by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I needed to make several birthday cards and a few of them were for men.  I wanted to keep them fun and colorful without many embellishments.  I got out the Old Goat Set and stamped out a bunch of images and have been coloring them while we've been watching movies. Now I have the cards I needed and some extra cards on hand!
The images were stamped onto Copic X Press It paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. They were then cut out using an Oval Double stitched die.  Another oval was cut from the Rainbow Perfectly Plaid 6" x 6" patterned paper from Lawn Fawn. Another layer of the plaid patterned paper was cut with the Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies and attached to a white A2 card base that has some Lawn Fawn twine wrapped around it.
One of the cards is left plane for a masculine look.  The card with the cake has some added embellishments.  White Blizzard Nuvo Crystal Drops are added to the image and around the background.  Nuvo Crystal drops in Blue Babe and Bubblegum Blush were also added around the background.

Succulent Space by Niccole Kulig

Hello Ai fans!!

Today I am stopping by to share a card using the Succulents stamp set from Art Impressions.  I know what you are thinking ... ANOTHER Succulent card?  Can you tell this is my favorite stamp set at the moment?  I promise this is the last card using the Succulent set for a while.  It is just to darn cute and versatile.

I started by Copic coloring my Succulent.  I die cut the image and set it aside.

I Trimmed .5" off of the card front and cut it 2" in. I added two tiny green trim pieces to define the cut space. I lined it up with my card base and then glued my Succulent onto the two pieces. I stamped the sentiment "Just For You" from the same Succulent set.

I finished it off with some Apple Green Nuvo Drops to balance out the card.

Here is another look at the card.  I love how bright the card is. Doesn't the strip missing from the middle really give it some dimension?

Cabin Circlet MTF Flip Top Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I am fascinated with all things TryFold so it won't shock anyone to know that I try to come up with different ways to use them.  I wanted to use my Cabin Circlet MTF stamp set in a way that I haven't seen before, so I came up with this fold.  I'm sure it's been done, but I haven't seen it done with the Circlet Mini TryFolds.  I hope you enjoy this different card fold! yet.
The images were stamped onto Copic X Press It paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. The top two images were cut out with a Circle Double Stitched Die as well as the matching die from the stamp set.  The image with the writing around it was cut out with a Circle Double Stitched Die.
Three cardstock base layers were cut out with the We R Memory Keepers Circle Dies.  I also cut out matching layers from the American Crafts Cedar Lane 6" x 6" patterned paper and attached them to the card stock.  I also cut a smaller circle from the patterned paper for each of the three card layers using the Ai Circle Double Stitched Dies and attached them to the center of each layer. I used the matching dies from the MTF set to cut out the top two layers. Then I scored a crease at the top of each of the top card layers.  I also added two holes into each of the top two layers.  I attached the top two layers together with brads and the middle two layers together with twine.
Copic Colors Used:
Fence - E31, E33, E35
Barn - E13, E15, E18, E37

Woodland Trees Cubbies by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I have really been enjoying the critter cubbies line but I wanted to do a little something different with them.  That's why I came up with today's card.  I used the Woodland Trees Cubbies set to make a scene that isn't just inside the tree as it's shown on the packaging.  It was fun to see the tree image in a different way.
The images were stamped onto Copic X Press It paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. They were then cut with the matching dies that come in the set. Black Glaze pen was added to the eyes of the animals.
Two sheets of patterned paper from Recollections was die cut with the Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Die and attached to a white A2 note card. I cut a piece of white cardstock with the shaped die cut and placed the outer layer aside so I could keep it white.  I stenciled onto the inner pieces with the cloud stencil and the Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink.  I also added some splatter to the pieces with Perfect Pearl colored Perfect Pearls mixed with water and let them dry.  I attached the frame to the card front with foam tape and added the colored pieces in with flat adhesive.  I arranged the tree, animals and leaves and added them with a variety of foam tape and flat adhesive.

Copic Colors Used:
Birds - B000, B02, BG13, BG10, Y11, YR14

Desert Window Frame by Niccole Kulig

Hello Ai fans!!

"To my friend ... The warmest of wished for a day filled with sunshine"

I am stopping by today to share a quick card/gift for someone special. I am using the Desert Window from Ai along with the 3D Frame die.

As you can see there isn't much to this card.  It is nice to make something that doesn't require a million steps to create something beautiful.  This literally didn't even take one full sheet of paper.

I colored my Desert Window stamped image with my Copic markers.  I loved using the variation of pinks for the sky and the reflection onto the ground and water.  Don't be afraid to try something new with your markers.  Out of the whole process the coloring took me the longest.

I cut a piece of paper with the 3D frame die.  Make sure though to use a piece a little wider than 5.5".  I cut mine at 6" to be safe.  and my die fit perfect.  Once you have the shape cut, the directions on the package of the 3D Frame die are very easy to follow and you can exactly see where to fold everything.  Once everything is glued in the stand is very easy to put on as seen above.  The only tip I have is do not flush it with the bottom of your square, raise it up a little so when it stands it leans a tiny bit back and not so perfectly straight up and down.

Once again here is the finished card, or should I say gift?  I know the perfect person I am giving this to.  It will look great at work on her desk.  Everyone needs a little something to look at that brightens their day!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I can't wait to spend more time with you soon!

Dog House Cubbies Slider Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I'm using the Dog House Cubbies stamp set for this weeks blog post.  When I saw the dogs in this set, I saw them as having some kind of movement.  I decided that I wanted to make them into a slider card.  This one also spins a bit, but mostly slides.  I'm sure that you can come up with some really fun ways to use the new cubbie sets!
The images were stamped onto Copic X Press It paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. They were then cut with their coordinating dies. The Doodlebug Pupply Love 6" x 6" Designer paper was cut with the Rounded Rectangle A2 Double Stitched dies and attached to an A2 white card base.  A white piece of card stock was stenciled using Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink and the Altenew Square Weave Pattern stencil.  I was sure to apply uneven pressure with my Picket Fence Life Changing brush for an interesting look.
The slider portion was very simple to make.  I just cut a slit out of the bottom of the stenciled background with the long, straight die from the Lawn Fawn Slide On over Dies.  I punched three 3/4" circles and glued them together.  They formed the weight to go behind my slider piece.  I then attached foam dots to the back of my stenciled paper.  I was sure to leave an opening under and above the slider area.  I placed it onto my card and then put the cut out piece of the stenciled paper flat onto my card.  I then placed the circles into the slider opening and attached a 1/4" foam dot to the center of the circles and then attaches my dog to the center of the foam dot.  At this point I tried out the slider to make sure it worked and applied some anti-static powder to it.  Once I was sure that the slider was working, I attach the cubbie and dogs to the card with glue and foam tape.
Copic Colors Used:
Gold Dogs - YR21, YR24, E31, E33, R81

O' Frap! Spring Chicken Set | By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai Fans!

With the release of those cute Hedgehogs and adorable Pandas, I decided to explore more of the cute critters in the Funny Farm line of stamps. I chose the Spring Chicken set and also the Oval Double Stitch die. It was not my intention to make the background the shape of a egg but it does work so well!

I started with stamping the 2 chickens with Gina. K. Amalgam ink then coloring them with Copic Markers. I do have the list of markers I used below. This time I used maily cooled tone grays to match the same tone of the gray cardstock. After I was done coloring them, I fussy cut the pair out and inked the edges with a Memento black marker.

For my fun egg shape I trimmed a piece of Gina K. Lemon drop cardstock with the Art Impressions Oval Double Stitch die. I believe I used the second from largest. To get the rays I ink blended
Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass, through a radiant rays stencil. It didn't quite reach the bottom of the oval. But I easily remedied that with the green cardstock, which was a scrap and already had a curve. I use the same oval die on the green cardstock so that the stitching would continue all the way around.

I've also been using some colored craft foam to create dimension lately. I cut some of the orange foam with a Art Impressions Circle Double Stitch die and also a darker yellow cardstock. I layered those so that the cardstock was on top and the orange craft foam is only glimpsed from the side.

I cut two colors of gray cardstock with two different types of edge dies, just to mix it up and add more texture.

For the sentiment I used a Distress Oxide ink in Abandoned Coral. I love this sentiment, I am not a morning person and only coffee will get me up and going. To create the speech bubble I sketched a oval around the sentiment and added a point. Then fussy cut it out and erased the pencil marks. I popped this up with some foam dimensional squares.

The inside I used another fun sentiment from the Spring Chicken set, which I paired with the party hat wearing chicken.
