Hello Watercolor Friends,

I am in love with Art Impression's brand new 5053 WC Little Girls Set and there's also a brand new WC Little Boys Set. Both are must haves. Think of the possibilities! All of our favorite Ai scenes can now have kids in them. I created this card using the rock from the brand new 5055 WC Sitting Places set, and the little sailboat from the new set 5057 WC Boat Set. The grass is from 5007 WC Foliage Set 3.

My “By The Sea” card for today’s Watercolor Weekend features three new Art Impressions items – WC Little Boys Set, WC Boat Set and Circle Double Stitches Dies.

Stamp the little boy from Little Boys Set in Sepia onto watercolor paper. Mask him off with a post-it note and stamp the dock from the Boat Set in Sepia using your stamp positioner. Watercolor the Art Impressions way by pulling the color from lines with your brush and water. Using a combination of Manganese Blue and African Violet on your palette, brush in for water. Stamp the sailboat from the Boat Set in Sepia. Stamp in the grass from Foliage Set 3 in Sepia and Olive Green. Add dot detail to the tops of the grass using the fine tip of African Violet. Scribble Rosewood onto your palette and brush on for his skin then Sapphire onto his overalls. Add detail to his shirt by brushing on Persimmon. Brush on Sepia into his hair, leaving a highlight at the top/crown of his head and onto the dock. Add detail on the dock using the fine tip of Sepia. Finally, brush Salvia Blue into the sky for clouds. Cut the watercolor piece out using the third to the largest circle double stitch die, a blue mat in the second to the largest circle double stitch die and a folded over card base with the largest circle double stitch die (let the die hang over the folded edge just a bit, this will allow the card base to remain hinged once cut).

First, I stamped the LOVE using the new San Serif letters stamps in Sepia. I pulled the color out of the lines. I added Steel Blue from my palette to each of the letters.

I stamped the small foliage from the Foliage Set 3 around the bottom on the L and around the top using the Olive Green. I also stamped the flower bunch from the Flower Set 3 inked in Iris Purple and Olive Green to the left of the L. I stamped the leaves from the Foliage Set 2 inked in Olive Green to the right of the O. I added the heart flowers from the Mini Flower Set in African Violet.

Next, I stamped the vine from Foliage set 3 around the V in Olive Green. I added a flower from the Flower Set one inked in Prussian Blue. Then I added another vine from the Foliage set 3 around the E and added flowers from the Mini Flower Set inked in Orange.

To finish up I added the flower bunch from the Flower Set 2 inked in Magenta and Olive green to the base of the word. To ground the letters I added some Sepia from my palette. I added water to all the flowers and foliage.

To finish up I cut the bookmark down and die cut the piece using the Tim Holtz tag dies cut a base of Gina K Designs Dark Chocolate card stock. I then cut the hole and added some lace.

I hope you will join us for Watercolor Weekend. These new stamps are so versatile and will be a great addition to your collection. Tag us with your projects on Instagram with #AIWatercolor.

Hello Watercolor Friends,

My tag for this launch was made using the tractor from the brand new 5059 - WC Harvest Set. My oldest son who lives on five acres in Colorado, actually has chickens and an old blue tractor. This would be the perfect tag to put on a present for him. I used the chicken from the 4207 - Feathers TF stamp set. The flowers are from 4868 - WC Flower Set 2.

The bookmark was created with my best friend in mind. Her name is Jamie and she goes by J. She loves to read and her daughter has blonde hair. I'm sure she will love it! I used the brand new 5053 - WC Little Girls Set. It's probably my favorite stamp set from this new release! The stool she is sitting on is from another one of the new sets 5055 - WC Sitting Places. The letter J is from another must have 5071 - WC Serif Letters Set. The flowers are from 5009 - WC Mini Flower Set.

The moment I saw the NEW Art Impressions Fairy Doors Set I envisioned my project PINK, PINK and more PINK with FAIRY DUST! Welcome to my “Land of Enchantment”.

Cut a piece of watercolor paper to approximately 6½ x 2 inches. Stamp the tree trunk in Sepia from the WC Fairy Doors Set using your Stamp Positioner. Stamp the fairy door in Sepia and the little cobble stones in a combination of Sepia and African Violet for a lovely grey color from the WC Fairy Doors Set using your stamp positioner. Watercolor the Art Impressions Way by pulling the color from the lines with your paint brush and water. To create an ombre look, I stamped thedarkest leaves toward the trunk, getting lighter further out (leaves from WC Foliage Set 2 inScarlet, Pink and Bubble Gum Pink). Add the tiny grass from WC Foliage Set 1 in Olive Green and the tiny flowers from WC Mini Flower Set in Scarlet. Scribble a little Bubble Gum Pink on your watercolor palette and brush onto the fairy door. Add detail to the fairy door using the fine tip of Bubble Gum Pink. Add Sepia to your palette to darken up the shadows on the tree trunk and use the fine tip to add detail to the fairy door. Brush on Salvia Blue for the sky and Olive Green for the grass. And finally, add FAIRY DUST to the leaves and door.

I am so excited about this most recent release from Art Impressions! I used the Little Girls and Sitting Places sets for this scene. I planned this out by making masks for the little girl and the bench. This way I could move it around until I was happy with it. I really wanted her to look like she was looking out towards the water.

I removed the little girl mask and using the positioner lined up the little girl. I removed the bench mask, re-inked the little girl and stamped her. I replaced the mask, stamped the bench onto the positioner and stamped it below the little girl. I pulled the color out of the lines of the little girl and the bench. I added additional color from the watercolor palette. I added Sepia to the bench along with some African Violet below the girl. I added Pale Pink to her legs, arms and face. I added Sepia to her Hair and Blue and Iris Purple to her clothes.

I brushed in some African Violet for the water.

I added grass below the bench and trees in the background using the small foliage in the original foliage set. I softened and washed out the trees in the background and added some additional shadows below the bench. To finish up I added some blue to the sky.

Thanks, team! We always look forward to seeing what you create!
With a new release, we have a new challenge! Let's switch it up from our usual card-making challenge to something a little different - bookmarks and tags! We'd like to see you create either one of those in this challenge. It does not need to be a watercolor project, you certainly can use any of your favorite stamps!
