Keepin' it Reel! Card by Tasha!

Hi Art Impressions Friends!

Tasha here sharing a card featuring the fun new 5926 - Fishing Boat Set. This fish-themed set is perfect as we head into Summer and makes a great Father's Day card! The little fisherman looks so happy driving his boat and I love all the accessories!

For this card, I created a stenciled background using Distress Oxide Inks and stamped "Let's Go Fishing!" with black ink on to the water. I think the layered waves look awesome with the different shades of blue ink and the green trees reminds me of boating on a lake in Wisconsin; I love lakes!

To create the decorated fishing boat, I stamped the boat, fisherman, and his accessories with black ink and cut the images out using the included dies. I like that the dies cut openings for the windows to allow the fisherman to look as if he is driving the boat and waving as he cruises down the water. You can also totally customize the project since there are several different accessories you can mix and match, so each card can have a different look.

Lastly, I added layers of brown card stock and brown plaid paper to complete the card. I hope you enjoyed today's project and are having a wonderful day!

Fishing Trip Card by Tasha

Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here with fishing themed card created with the #4900 - Reel Great Guys Set

This stamp reminded me of my husband and his father on one of their early morning fishing trips and I colored these two guys to resemble them.

The set includes several sentiments, but I thought the "Birthday Fishes" with the fish hook worked great with the scene. I used a black pen to connect the greeting to the end of the fishing line. I think this would also look nice with foam tape.

For the sky and water, I used Distress Oxide Ink and stencils. To add more detail to the water, I added layers of waves, swimming fish, bubbles, and attached the cute fish stamp. This fish image looks so happy and I love how the green pops against the blue background!

To complete the card, I added layers of blue and brown card stock and pattern paper before attaching the design to a lime green card base. The green color coordinates with the fish and I love bright colors!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you are inspired to create a card with the Reel Great Guys Set!

Challenges 237 Summer Vibes!

Happy Summer, Ai Fans!

Welcome to a NEW challenge! Carol's here with a sweet creation to inspire your challenge entries! Take it away, Carol!

Hello Ai Fans!

Are you enjoying your summer?  Where I'm at it's too hot to do much outside!  I'd love to be at a beach and the Loungers Set - 4473 was perfect for this new challenge:  Summer Vibes!

Here's something I like to do--when I remember!  Haha!  After I first stamp the image using my MISTI, I leave the stamp in place.  When I am finished coloring, I put my card back in the MISTI.  Because I'm SO afraid, after all my work, it may not be lined up perfectly, I then stamp onto a piece of acetate.  I can then make any tiny adjustments to the alignment so that it stamps over it perfectly.  I just keep re-stamping until it lines up exactly right.  I do this because sometimes with highly detailed stamps, I feel like the Memento ink isn't as crisp as the Onyx Black.  I think re-stamping the image with Onyx Black ink really makes the image pop!   I hope that makes sense!

For embellishments, I added a sun die cut and some tiny lemon slices, along with some Glossy Accents and sparkle with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.

I just love this sentiment!  I wish that it didn't take getting older to feel this way, but for me, it did!  How about you?

Thank you for stopping by today, and we sure hope you'll join in our Summer Vibes challenge!

Thanks, Carol! We sure love your vibrant beach card! Too cute!

Tied up in my retirement plan !!!

Hello Ai Fans !!
Today's card is another masculine card using and Ed sku # YY1903 , he has a front and back image , but today I am only using the front. The sentiment I am using is the I'm Retired ( one day we all hope to get here ). Ed is really getting tied up in his retirement plan ..lol Fly fishing looks so easy and graceful but take much skill and finesse .

I made a window card , I put my image inside the card  , chalked up clouds and then attached a pice of string to him and had it land in the tree leaves on the outside front of the card , I glued on some red feathers ( its a fly lure ..hehe ) , a fun little creation to give to a male coworker upon retirement .
