You're A Cherry on Top by Niccole

Hello Ai fans!!

I am stopping by today to share a card I made using the Cherry stamp set from Art Impressions that is being sold exclusively at Scrapbook.com.
This card came together rather quickly but I LOVE how it turned out.
I stamped the cherry image in the bottom right corner of my card.  I Copic colored it.  I added my sentiment above the cherry image to the right of the card. I decided it needed a little more pop so I went around it with my C1 & C3 Copic marker to give it a shadow like its popping off the screen. I added some clear droplets around the image to even out my my card front.
I added some black and white plaid/gingham to a strip of paper and trimmed it to fit the front of my card.  I glued it to the left side of the card.  I also added some of my Copic marker to a strip of paper so I knew it matched my leaves. I added that to my card front. And ... voila ... DONE ... didn't it turn out cute???
Here is one more look at the card ...

Thank you so much for stopping by and spending a little time with me.  Make sure you come back soon to the Ai blog and see what the team has been up to.

Copics used:
C1, C3,
E44, E47
G28
R22, R24, R27
YG23, YG25, YG67

Until next time ... Hugs & inky fingers!

Cat Twist Tie   Otter Twist Tie Oldies Twist Tie Tree Twist Tie

Let's take a look at our feature from Dana today!

Hello AI fans!! Dana, here with a little tutorial featuring the new Oldies Twist Ties!! The challenge is to use Washi Tape and I did a little paper piecing while I was at it!! :)

I started by stamping the two images, once on white cardstock and then a few more times on different pattern papers.

Then I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color the hair, skin and shoes of each lady. I used: EB5, EB6, FS3, FS6, FS9, GB2, GB3, GB4, RB1, RB3, RB4, TN2, YG1, YG2, YG3.

Next, I fussy cut around the parts that I wanted to paper piece. Then I used a black pen to color the white edges of each pattern paper piece.

Then I just used liquid adhesive to adhere all the pieces down. The liquid adhesive allows me to move the different pieces around until they cover and fit properly. I use some clear blocks as a weight as the glue dries.

I would recommend getting the Twist Ties Card & Envelope pack, it really saves time with the card base already at the right size. Since the challenge is to use washi tape, I made my backgrounds with a couple different rolls.

I added the tape horizontal on the left flap and vertically on the right flap. After doing one side I trimmed off the extra, then moved to the other side. But I did actually keep the ends, I thought I might use them on the inside of the card.

Next, I did a quick stamp of each image on the washi tape, you can't see it in the photo because of the washi tape patterns. This allowed me to place the dies just right and hold them in place with more washi tape!! After die cutting each side, I used a damp towel to remove the ink, the washi tape is smooth and ink wouldn't really dry good on it, plus I would be covering it up anyway with my images.

I added super strong double sided tape and liquid adhesive to the backs of my images. You definitely want something strong so it will stick to the washi tape good. I added clear blocks on top as it dried.

For the inside of my card I added a light wood pattern paper and then stamped the sentiment, near the bottom. I die cut some music notes that come with the set and added them around the sentiment. Then with the left over washi pieces I added them along the top and bottom, trimming off the excess. I did not save those, lol!!

Last, all that is left is to hook the arm tab into the other lady. Since I have lots of layers, I used a sharp craft knife to cut through extra layers.

Are you still with me?? LOL!! I hope this inspires you to get out and use up some of that washi tape I know you have laying around!! Happy Stamping!

Thanks, Dana! Such a cute project!

Old Goats Club by Dana Warren

Hello, AI fans!!

Today I have another card using the Old Goat set. This one is an easy card to make so it would be perfect to do this up as a card set!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the jumping goat on watercolor cardstock. Then I colored it with my Spectrum Noir Markers:   AG1, AG3, CT1, CT4, CR7, MB1, MB3, MB4.  I fussy cut him out, next.

For a sentiment, I die cut a speech bubble and then stamped the Welcome to the Old Goats Club sentiment.

The background was super easy!! Washi tape!! This roll has been running around my desk just waiting for me to use it!! I lined up a white card base on my mat and then added the stripes of washi tape.

To finish it up I added the sentiment and the goat with foam tape. To make this a card set, just stamp and color images all at once. Then die cut and stamp the sentiment bubble, add the washi tape and the image and sentiment to each card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy stamping!!

Easter Blessings card by Dana Warren

Hello, AI fans!!

Easter is fast approaching and Art Impressions has a new Easter Blessings set that is perfect for your Easter cardmaking! When I got this set I stamped all them images and colored them together. Then over time made the cards with each image.

For this cute bunny holding an Easter egg, I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color him. I used CR5, CR6, CT4, EB1, EB2, FS6, GB5, GB8, HB2, HB3, LG4, LG4, LV3, TB3, TB4. After coloring I fussy cut the bunny.

I pulled out an old Doodlebug Easter sticker sheet and decided to use some of the flowers from the sheet. From my stash, I found some green washi tape and I added it across a white card base.

With foam tape, I added the bunny and flowers. I also stamped the Easter Blessings, trimmed it to a rectangle and added it to the card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy Stamping!

Keep Me Warm by Dana Warren

Hello AI fans!!

Dana here with a card featuring one of the new Clear Christmas Stamps, Merriest Christmas! I did some monochromatic coloring and used some gorgeous gold washi tape for the background.
The washi tape so gorgeous, it looks like a rich gold tapestry! I added four strips of the washi tape, leaving space between each one, allowing the black card base to show through. Next, I stamped the snowman couple on some water color card stock.

To color the image I went with a monochromatic look and used the Vintage Photo Distress  Marker. I didn't color it with typical strokes, instead patting the paint brush on the image. Squiggle the marker on a palette, add a little water to lighten the color. As I colored the image I used less and less water to get darker tones.

When my coloring was done I used sharp scissors to fussy cut the image out. For the vellum piece behind the image, I found it in my leftovers stash. I stamped the sentiment on the vellum and then adhered it to the card. Then I added the image with foam tape and last adhered a few black enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy Stamping!!
