Country Music Song

Hello Ai Fans!
This week I'm working on creating a little scene with my "go to" stamps.

You probably have your "go to" stamps also.  The stamps you use when you need a quick card - that occasion you just remembered, or your children you told you about. :o)  I just grab the Ai wooden fence, some grass,  and with any image and I can make a quick cute card.

First, I stamped and colored this poor tied up giraffe and the fence. The fence is so easy to color! Just give it a little shading and it's ready!  I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color - love them...such vibrant colors and fun to blend!

Next I cut out the fence and base card. I laid my fence at the bottom of the card and drew a pencil line to show where to cut. I cut down the seam and across.

All that was left was to stamp the clouds and grass on the blue sky. I adhered everything, stamped the perfect little sentiment to match his expression and it was ready!  Please stop by tomorrow to see what Crystal has for you!

Thanks for visiting!
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!

Dollar Bills for the Slot Machines!

Hello Ai fans, Kerry here, I'm so happy to join the Ai family!  And I'm super excited to show you my piggy bank featuring one of the Golden Oldies, the coolest Slots Jean.  Isn't she awesome?  So, save up your dollar bills and head to the slot machines!!

For the piggy bank... the dimension is 4.5" (ht) x 3.5" (wt) x 2" (deep).

I cut the paper to 12" x 8.5".  On the 12" side, score at 3.5", 5.5", 9", and 11".  Then I turned the cardstock 90 degrees.  I scored again at 2", and 6.5".  Cut the top and bottom flaps (to create a box)
For the top, I created an opening slot using a punch (for the money).  And I cut the pattern paper, the dimensions are 4.25" x 3.25" and 4.25" x 1.75".

Here is the close up!

Goodies that I used:
Copics Markers:  BG10, BG11, BG32, BG34, E00, E01, R20, R22, R24, R30, R32, Y21, Y23

Distress ink pads in broken china and scattered straw
Spellbinder in scalloped ovals and ovals
Lace ribbon (dyed with distress stains in broken china) and yellow ribbon

Happy Birthday Buzzard!

Hello Ai Fans!

I love humorous birthday cards so when I saw this guy I was very excited.
He's from Art Impressions new line called Ai ZooCrew.  The name of this set is Buzzard Set (sku#4194)

The only tool I used was a decorative square punch that I cut in half to make a corner.  The metal squares are self adhesive and the buzzard is colored with copic markers. This set would easily work for a girl too but I just love to get more stamps that work for men.

Zoo Crew's Feathered Fiasco by Jessica Griffin

Hi friends! Hope you're enjoying your weekend. I've been working with the new Zoo Crew images, and had the pleasure of working with Feathered Fiasco!
He's so cute, I almost fell bad for him when I saw his sad little face! :( I know those days, all to well!

I did a quick video while coloring the Flamingo and water. Unfortunately, I've been having some computer/camera problems while recording, and it cut out before I could finish. But, you'll be able to see the colors I used, and the process. Also how simple it is to use FlexMarkers. When you buy the sentiment it does come whole. As in, "bad day in progress... stand clear" as one stamp. However, to get the words to stamp around the Flamingo as such, I had to cut them apart. It wasn't too difficult, but, I do suggest if you are going to cut them apart, make sure you have a good pair of scissors!

Lastly, people ALWAYS ask me what paper I use. I never think to add it into my posts, but I always use the same paper. I buy it at the paper mill! When I lived in Texas I bought from Clampitt Paper. Their prices are great! Anyways, I use Finch Fine Color Copy 80#. I really like their paper, but love that they make paper with our Environment in mind.

Well, that's all from me today! Happy Saturday friends, have a great weekend!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday Ai fans!
Today I have a card to share that is made with one of my favorite stamps from the "Whoots" collection. Its the Birthday Whoot Set (Sku #4125). It's such a versatile set, and oh so much fun to color! I colored him in with Prisma Color pencils and Gamsol with paper stumps for blending. (Gamsol is oderless mineral spirits). I paper pieced his cute birthday hat with matching designer paper I used from the Simple Stories "Happy Day" 6"x6" paper pad. Great birthday themed paper pad for cards. The card size 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". I used kraft cardstock as the card base, Cherry Cobbler red (SU!), and white cardstock. I used a ticket corner punch on the corners and a scallop border punch for accents (both from SU!) . I sewed on the first layer and the panel. (I just love the look of sewing on a card). I used Spellbinder round dies to layer my sweet owl, and popped him up with 3-D foam tape. I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink with a sponge to distress around the edges (adds such a nice touch to cards). Three brass brads and an orange ribbon add a few details to top off this card.

Here is a close up of my card so you can see some of the details. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have enjoyed my little creation made with fabulous stamps from Art Impressions.

Fishing and Frogs

Hello Ai Fans !!
This card is so much my boys growing up ,they would leave to go fishing and always come home with treasures , I never really knew what they would drag home but it was always something , frogs ,turtles and yes even a snake ( YIKES !!! ) So when I saw this stamp I had to get it ,  Boy with Frogs SKU # K1206 can be found in the Ai store along with many other great stamps ,go check them out, I am sure you will find the perfect stamp for your project.
today I colored my image with prisma color pencils with gamsol, I am new to this process but I love to color and with practice I am sure I will get better , I colored the image and added darker shading in folds and creases and around the edges and with I use the gamsol with a paper stump it kinda melts the colors together and creates a very nice look.
I masked off my image and added clouds with chalk ,
I cut my image out using the new SU Framelits Window dies , I did some stitching around the layers   , the stripe layer was embossed with the SU square lattice folder , I inked edges on all layers with SU soft suede
my hinge tabs were made with SU modern label and word window punches , I added gromlits   , the ribbon was white and I used my shimmer mist to color and added a mini vintage tag

Supplies :  Boy with Frogs sku # K 1206 ,  SU square lattice folder , SU window dies , SU modern lable punch , SU word window , sewing machine , chalk , Prisma colored pencils ,gamsol ,  Clear Star shimmer gel pen , SU vintage mini tag , seambinding ribbon , shimmer mist , gromlits
often I leave the inside of my cards blank to turn the card into what ever I may need later , it's a good thing to have  go to cards that you can stamp a sentiment in and be done.
Thanks for stopping by come back tomorrow for the  Thursday Challenge @Ai
Hope you have an 8UpScrapin day : )

Textured Furniture

Hello Ai Fans! It's Tuesday and my day to share! This week I'm working on creating texture on furniture.

I colored my furniture first and allowed it to dry. Next I dipped my fabric into some alcohol - I used 91%.   I laid the fabric over the furniture and lightly pressed, one section at a time. The alcohol makes the color spread on the cardstock and take on the pattern of the fabric. NOTE: squeeze out most of the liquid so that the fabric is damp, not too wet.  The longer you lay it down, the more the color will spread.

I finished coloring the whole scene and cut out the pieces.  I drew a base board, outlet and light switch on  the design paper. I added color with the markers.

List of Supplies Used: Stamps - living room # T1347Paper - X-pressNeenah Solar White,  Basic Grey design paperColoring Copic Markers 0, B91,  C1, C3, C5, C7,  BG11, BG13, BG18, E000, E02, E17, E33, E35, G40, G82, R21, R24, Y13, YG05- ; Ink  Memento Black ink pad,  Copic Markers multiliner 0.03Accessories - fabric, alcohol

Donkey birthday wishes

 Hello Ai Fans!

A friend of mine has requested several birthday cards and she loves to give humorous cards. Art Impressions has some of the best funny stamps around. I've used several on this card. Can't wait for her to see it!

This laughing DONKEY (sku #P1555) is part of the Ai Zoo.

I've used 4 verses on the inside and out...

The only tool I used on my card was a Spellbinders circle die.
Donkey is colored with Copic markers.

Here's the inside. (I did mask off the Fabulous you portion since I wanted this card to be a little more masculine.)

Don't forget that the NEW Ai ZooCrew is now available!

Harvest Try Fold

Hello AI fans!! I hope you'll like the card I have for you today. I've used one of the new Try Fold stamp sets. However, I didn't use it the way it's intended.

Instead of stamping each image on a separate fold, I stamped them all onto one layer. The overall card size is 5"X5". I did a video to show you the correct way to use the Try Folds, with another stamp set.

To see all the colors I used, and the process I used to color, check out my blog at canyoupixelthis.com
