Hugs

Hi AI Fans
I hope you had a greate New year. I made a card with this lovely cat  Feline Flop (M4186)
and  the "HUGS" text comes from Valentine Bear Set (4218)

I´ll try to describe how to make grass under someone who is lying in the grass.
It becomes a series of images.

Color the stamp first, when you started with the grass, you can not go back and touch up any.

Paint where you whant have the shadows under the subject, and color the ground below.

I have´t paint the ground on this because I want you to se the gras.

Start with pen / brush at the grass root and paint / draw upward.

Grass usually grows in tufts, unless you have a perfect lawn: O).

Draw grass that goes up on the subject

Varying shades of green, until you're satisfied, then cut out your stamp.
Good luck!

Uptown Girlfriends

Hello Ai friends and happy Friday!
I have been thinking of inking up this wonderful Ai Uptown Girlfriends stamp Sku# 4129, for some time now, and I finally got my chance! It's quite a large stamp and so fun to color with copic markers. I even did a little paper piecing to the lady on the far left, her dress, along with her handbag. I used a beautiful little 6" x 6" designer paper pad from Carta Bella (Traditions). Pretty designs and colors.

The base card size is 6" x 5-1/2". I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine and added some matching blue ribbon behind the stamped image. I die cut a pretty little flourish die from My Favorite Things and added it to the bottom of my card. I didn't want to cover up the pretty designer paper too much.

For the inside I stamped one of my favorite girlfriend sentiments, "Thick and Thin" Sku# F4043. I added a pretty strip of matching designer paper, and distressed the edges with Tea Dye distress ink.
I hope you enjoyed my little paper creation. Thanks for stopping by the Ai blog today.
Happy stamping and have a great weekend!

It's just a number !!

Hello Ai fans !!
Yep with the New Year comes the plans for a new you and today my girlfriends are going to weigh in together !! When I saw this stamp I knew I had to use it for my first post of the New Year 2013 . The Weight In set sku # 4049 comes with 3 sentiment and the main image .
To make my card I chose to use a number background paper  and then I made my own measure tape ribbon using a ruler stamp from my stash,I stamp on seam binding ribbon ans then wrap twice around the

number layer adhere on the backside
I
colored my girls with Copic markers

I colored the whole image to match my paper and then stamped the one bending over again and colored her and then popped her up , I put glossy on the scale windows , the I stamped the measure tape again to create a light background and then stamped the sentiment over top , I did the same thing inside to keep my theme flowing inside and out
.

Welcome to 2013!

Welcome to 2013 Ai Fans!

In the Midwest the winter skies tend to be gray, and every now and then there is a crisp blue sky. In the Chicago area, we have not had much snow and the grass is still showing. Although it can seem like a dull overcast, some days are filled with a lovely color of a gray and blue mix and it almost looks like spring - until you step outside and realize  it is winter. :o)

For this little Midwest park scene, I stamped the City Park (Sku#U3094) image in black onto Yupo watercolor paper and let it dry completely (24 hours).  To create the sky, I spritzed the paper with alcohol, dropped color and blew the color around with a straw until I was happy with it. A nice benefit of this paper and ink combination is that you can rework the color over and over.

Next, I dripped color directly onto the tip of a paint brush to draw the horizon line and add color to the ground. I dipped the brush in alcohol to move the color around and for some texture. I used a black fine line marker to draw some detail back on the image.

May your year be filled with joy and happiness!! Please stop by tomorrow to see what lovely design Crystal has for you!!

Thanks for visiting!

Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
