Five Whoots by Judith

Hello Ai Fans!

I have another card to share today using the fabulous Whoots stamps - I just don't seem to be able to get enough of them at the moment!

I stamped the image from the Five Whoots Set, drew in the branch and coloured with copics. I then trimmed along the branch line and mounted the panel with foam tape. The sentiment is from the same set.

Copics:

Owls: E35, E31, E53, E50, YR04, YR02
Hats (from left to right): R83, R81, B34, B32, Y21, Y11, V04, V01, G00, G000

Challenge 141 - "Like an EmBOSS" Wet or Dry Embossing

Hello Ai Fans!

Welcome to week two of our "Like an EmBOSS" challenge! We are so excited to launch some brand new Ai People! If these images look familiar, they are the most popular from our recent Ai Pop-Ups release! We hope you love them in stamp form too!

Our designers are back this week with tons of great inspiration for you!

Now, to our new challenge this week!
Ok, it's a little more punny than funny. Have you heard the hilarious "Like a BOSS" phrase? I couldn't help but change it to emboss, and then had to be proper with an "an." :) Well, this week we want embossing to rule your card. Whether dry embossing with folders or using embossing powder with your stamps, the choice is up to you for submissions this week!

Here are the challenge rules …
✻ Please make a new card or creation. You can make any crafty item you wish; this is not limited to cards!
✻ Limit two submissions per person. You will receive extra votes if you use Art Impressions stamps!
✻ The Ai Challenge is open to everyone, international submissions are welcome!
✻ Include a link back to the Ai Blog or grab our button on the top right of our sidebar!
✻ Share the Ai love by clicking and commenting your fellow crafters.
✻ Make sure to get your link up by Wednesday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. PST to enter your creations.
✻ Good luck and happy stamping!

Watercolor Series 6 by Karen Day

Hello Ai fans!
I've been digging into my watercolour markers again, using several of the Ai Watercolor sets.  I usually do larger scenes, but this time I worked on some smaller vignettes, and loved them!
This is my attempt at an 'artsy' look - LOL!  I bought an old dictionary a while ago, and it has lovely yellowing, aged looking pages, so I cut it up, tore it a little and lightly sponged the edges to give it even more of a worn appearance.  I mounted the watercolour paper squares on some kraft paper and popped them up on pop dots.  Then I tied a knot in some natural coloured hemp to finish them off.

I use watercolour markers and a wet paintbrush with my stamps.  I love the control that I get by colouring directly onto the stamps with the markers, and then softening/dragging the colour around with the paintbrush.

I do a little direct-to-paper colouring with the markers to achieve some of the shading, as well.  I still have a lot of learning to do with watercolouring, but I really love the whole process.  I've used mostly stamps from the Watercolor Series 6 Set 2 (Sku #3498) along with the Foliage Set (Sku #4051) and Tall Flower (Sku #1373)

Happy painting everyone!

Hoot Hoot by Judith

Hello Ai Fans!

I love creating little scenes on my cards, it's so fun.  This adorable owl is called Little Whoot, which I combined with the sentiment from the Chatting Whoots Set. All the Whoots sets are fabulous to mix and match with.

To help build my scene, I also used the Fence stamp, which is such a great stamp to have in your stash.

Copics:

Owl: E31, E34, E35
