Technique Tuesday with Amy!

Hi to everyone, it's Amy! Amy Hurley-Purdie to be exact!

I'm new to the blog, but I've been teaching, and designing

in the Scrapbook industry for 15 years. One of my favorite

things to  do is pass along fun techniques and ideas. As artist

we all love a new juicy idea's to get are creative juices flowing!

I thought I would share a fun and easy technique to

create something with your stamps in a different way.

First I stamped my image, (Whoots by Art impressions...

because hello, they're ADORABLE!) Next I outlined my image

with Glossy accents. Out line with thin lines, but remember the

glossy may pull apart and be thicker in some place and thinner

in others. Don't worry, wait a minute and then go back

and gently fill in the thinner spots. Let dry over night.

Next use spray adhesive on the front of the image and wrap with

aluminum foil (shiny side up). Take a small paint brush and go over nooks

and crannies of the image that now shows through the foil.( I pressed my

brush down hard enough so it would fan out on the page, but

not so hard to tear it) Then I took Alcohol inks and with my applicator

dabbed on inks in ginger and carmel( i love the warm brown, gold

and copper look this gives it, but you could use any colors you want).

Just keep dabbing and adding color until your happy.

I took a Copic marker in YR07 (cadmium orange),

100(black), and E18(copper) and added some details. I used white

liquid pearls to add some white accents on the eyes. Finally I've mounted

mine on a cute little sign, but you can use your imagination and go wild!

What a cute card, gift bag, or party decor this would be.

Remember there are no mistakes in crafting, only embellishment opportunities!
