Spinner Card - There's GNOME one like you! - by Lynn Dionne

Happy Wednesday Ai Fans!!!

Watch video tutorial here!!!

Today we will be creating one of my favorite card designs which is the super fun spinner style card! You just wind up the spinning element and then place the card in the envelope and when the recipient opens the card the cute little gnome will spin around!!! The cute front and back gnome images will come from the brand new Ai Gnomes Set (5785). This set includes this larger front and back image as well as several smaller gnomes that are simply adorable!

Let's first create the card base using some Kraft cardstock. This square card will measure 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". Next we can cut a layer of Dark Brown cardstock and the third layer will be a pretty patterned paper from the brand new Ai Gnomes Paper Pack (5832).

We will be die cutting the square openings for the card using the Ai Nested Square Dies (5725). In this video I will give you some tips and tricks for die cutting these square openings in all of the layers so that everything lines up perfectly!

So I thought it would be fun to use the Gnomes Paper Pack to do some paper piecing on our little gnome.  We will stamp the image onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock...this will be the base of our gnome and then we will stamp the image a few more times onto the patterned papers that will become the hat, outfit, shoes and hands.

Next we can fussy cut out these pieces and then glue them to the base image. That will just leave us to color the beard and nose and to do this we will use the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Gray Tint, and Blush.

Now we can assemble the spinner mechanism and I will give you very detailed instructions for doing this in the video. It's super easy and fun to do!!!

For a few finishing touches let's add some twine and a few sparkly red hearts!

I will be using the smaller gnomes in a cute card which will be coming out in the near future....so if you love these little gnomes you may want to keep and eye out for that card!

Thank you so much for joining me today!  Have a fun and crafty day!!!
