Hello Ai friends and happy Thursday!

 

Today I have a pocket card in the shape of a gift box.  I used part of the Art Impressions Birthday Gal Front & Back (3199) and my sentiment is from the Michael's exclusive set called His & Hers Camper.

 

I made a picture tutorial to show you how to create this pocket card (below).  They are great for tucking in a gift card or cash.  ;)

And...you can also create this without a pocket if you just want it to open like a regular card...

It's easy and fun so let's get started!

Note: I like to use the CLEAR sticky-back Velcro dots.  They are thinner and less noticeable!

 

That's it!  Now just decorate your pocket card with your favorite Ai characters!

Front & Back Birthday Gal by Sherry Eckblad

Hello Ai Fans!

Sherry here today with a card I created using one of the Front & Back sets. This one is called Birthday Gal.

I have to admit that I absolutely love how it turned out, but have to apologize for the photos in advance. I could not get it to stand up without props.

This is totally me when it comes to celebrating other peoples birthdays!

When you swing open the fence you see her bum along with the sentiment 'Happy 29th'.

So fun, I will definitely be making a few more of these for a few friends.

This week, we wanna see those chickens! Our Bird Brain line has been one of our most tried and true stamp themes! We wanna see those funny cards! Any card with a chicken theme will do this week!

Crystal will be bringing our feature this week!

"It's Crystal here and today our challenge is to use the most awesome Chickens called Bird-Brains. I am going to use Birdie and Egg Carton #U1842.

Okay today we are going to think outside the box, as in Birdie's legs will hang outside the box ... lol. To do this, you lay your die over the image and trace the die lightly with pencil and were the image hangs outside the frame. You totally fussy cut that area, then set the die under legs but on top of area to be die cut (legs will be on top of the die).
Next I am going to use my Cricut and cut a sunburst layer for my card from the Close to my Heart Artbooking cartridge. This was cut at 7" with real dial size off so when done to was 5 1/4" by 6". When I took if off the sheet, I loved the negative image it left behind so I am going to use it inside my card ( waste nothing, that is why we are called scrappy girls, we make art from scraps).

So what I did to get all those pieces in just the right space, I laid down my cut out and used a two way glue pen to add glue to black spaces.Put all the negative cut in the correct places.When done, it looks as if it never came off my cutting mat.Now remove the positive image or the image I intending on using on my card front. Look how cool this looks! I'll add black stitch lines down the yellow rays.I stamped my sentiment on some pattern paper and cut it out with a circle die. This is the finished inside of my card.I know we are working backwards but this is how my mind works sometimes (he he). I just go with it!
For the front, I cut a lighter yellow to contrast with my sun ray layer and then embossed it with Swiss Dot embossing folder. Then I glued that down to my black card base then used glue dots to pop up my sun ray layer. Then I added my image to the front and die cut some flowers and flourishes, added a raffia bow, and I am done ...
