Flaunt It by Dori Mendiola

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

My card today is based on the current challenge "All That Glitters".  I hope you decide to play along and enter to win a free stamp set.  See the "Bi-Weekly Challenge" tab above.

When I thought glitter, the #4756 Flaunt It stamp set was the first set to come to mind.  I had sooo much fun "glittering" up these ladies.  But first things first, I stamped the image onto copic friendly paper and colored the gals with copic markers (see list below).  When I finished coloring up the image, I wasn't excited about my coloring of the gal on the left, so I decided to paper piece her dress over my coloring.  I stamped her again onto pattern paper from the #5742 Easter PP and fussy cut the dress out.  Then I glued the dress into place.  Much better!  This is a great way to save your image if you don't like the way you originally colored it.  Beats re-coloring the whole image.

I lightly placed glue on the boa and then sprinkled with glitter.  Tapped off the excess and performed that step again where needed.  For the glasses and the crown, I used stardust stickles.  I also used an aqua shimmer pen on the shoes and bracelet, but it doesn't show up very well in the picture.

The saying, from the Flaunt It set, is perfect for my girlfriends and I - we just find ourselves so funny.  I'm not so sure that our husbands find us as funny as we think we are, but we sure get a kick out of ourselves.  LOL!  The bow is from the #5318 MB Envelope dies and the glasses are from my stash.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have a great day!

Flaunt It! by ReneƩ Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing my last dance teacher card.
This card went to the owner Miss Nicky.

This year they had a dance called Red Lips that they won many awards for so I did the Lips prop in red glitter.  The girls also wore red glitter on their lips.  My girly is the second in from the right.  I wish you could see their lips better.  They looked SO cool!

Flaunt It by Dana Warren

Hello AI fans!!!

Dana here with two cards that feature the new Girlfriends Flaunt It Set! For both cards I used Distress Markers and paper piecing to color the the girlfriends (they sure are having a lot of fun!!). I used two different pattern paper pads for each card and gave darker skin coloring a try!!

I started both cards by cutting stitched rectangles from watercolor card stock and then stamped the image on both panels. I picked out some pattern paper for their dresses and fussy cut them all out, but before I added them I colored their skin, hair and accessories with my Distress Markers.

I was working on the first panel and had colored two of the girls with Tattered Rose when I thought maybe I should give a darker skin tone a try! So on a scrap piece of paper I stamped the faces and arms of the women and then experimented with different colors. On the pink card I used Gathered Twigs along with the Tattered Rose. For the yellow card I Gathered Twigs for the woman on the left, Vintage Photo for the woman in the middle and Ground Espresso for the woman on the right. I think all these colors worked great for dark skin. Also if I want a more tan look, I will go over with the Tattered Rose again!

Once my coloring is done I added the paper piecing to each panel. For the pink card I cut a bigger stitched rectangle the Simple Stories - Vintage Bliss paper pad and added it to a white card base. I also trimmed a journal card and added it next, trimming off the over hang. I added the stamped panel and then a few enamel dots.

For the yellow card I trimmed some pattern paper strips from Fancy Pants Park Bench paper pad. I added the strips across a white card base. Then I added the stamped panel with foam tape and then I stamped one of the sentiments at the lower right. Last I added a few black enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!!
