I'm Your Love Bug by Janet

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. This week, I dove headfirst into the "Spritz, Splatter AND PAINT!" challenge on the Ai Blog, and let me tell you, I was thrilled! There's nothing I love more than making a creative mess, especially when it's for a good cause – like winning free stamps!

My card is a vibrant message of love, centered around an adorable ladybug from the 6041 - Flower and Bug set. She's perched on a beautifully stacked and layered heart, crafted from seven layers of pink and navy cardstock using the 5721 - Nested Heart Dies. Building it up with foam tape really makes this heart pop right off the card, creating a bold statement. In the four corners, I spelled out "LOVE" using gold cardstock letters from the 5910 - Large Letter Die Set, placing them strategically above and below the prominent heart.

Before adding these elements, I had some serious fun creating the background. The colorful mat started with a three-layer stencil, blending cheerful blue and pink Oxide inks. For the dazzling third layer, I painted it with Winsor Newton Gold paint from Art Impressions – pure metallic magic! Once that was done, I watered down some blue watercolor paint and generously splattered it across the panel. Then, I followed up with simple water droplets. Because the bright pink and blue inks are water-reactive, these drops created a fantastic bleached-out, textured effect where they landed. To push the texture even further, I ran the whole panel through an embossing folder.

After arranging and gluing all the pieces, I felt it needed one final touch. A sweet pink and white polka dot bow, complete with a heart gem in the middle, was the perfect complement to the main heart and ladybug.

I truly hope you'll join in on the "Spritz, Splatter AND PAINT!" challenge! It's a fantastic excuse to play and create, and you'll get a chance to win free stamps just by uploading your creation to the challenge post on the blog. I can't wait to see what amazing things you create!

Koala-Ty Valentine's Day Card by Tasha!

Happy Friday, Ai Friends!

Tasha here, sharing my latest card featuring the super cute 5349 - Koalas Set. Koalas are just so sweet, and are perfect for a special Valentine's Day card!

The process began with the adorable Koala stamp, and to add that perfect touch of Valentine's Day charm, I introduced the heart balloon from the 5491 - Front Porch Party Set. The pop of red from the heart balloon not only screams Valentine's Day but also adds a delightful contrast to the card.

To create the scene, I used masking paper to cover the koala image before working on the sky and ground. The unveiling of the stamped image when lifting the masking paper is so fun and it's a great way to color a background on a single-layer card.

To make the ballon pop out more, I cut a second ballon image with the included coordinating die set. Layering it onto the card with foam tape brought a dynamic 3D effect, and a simple string drawn with a black Copic liner pen connected the heart balloon to the koala.

No card is complete without layers, and for this creation, I opted for glitter paper, card stock, and heart-themed pattern paper to complete the design.

Whether it's for an anniversary, Valentine's Day, Sweetest Day, or just to brighten someone's day any time of the year, this style of card is sure to make someone happy and smile!

Wishing you all a wonderful and craft-filled weekend!

Koala-tea Party by Janet

Hello AI fans! It's Janet and today I have a trio of Koalas from 5349 Koalas Set. I've used a swirled heat embossed background that I colored up with distress oxide inks. It's the perfect casual backdrop for the adorable koalas in this set.

In the first card, I colored two of the koala images and used the included dies to cut them out. I cut out the stamped and inked panel with the largest Rounded Rectangle Double Stitched Die. Then I used a cover plate to cut out the tiny hearts. Behind the panel, I placed blue cardstock creating a confetti of  blue hearts in the background. Then I arranged the two koalas and several hearts as well as the two sentiments on the panel. The finished piece was then glued on the card base.

My second card uses one of the two large koala images from the set. This is a perfect image for anyone who is a tea or coffee lover. What a fun way to wish someone a happy birthday! The confetti that I used on the sentiment is also included in the stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed this little trip into some Koala-tea time! See you next time!

Happy Creating!

Critter Love by Janet

Hello Art Impression fans! It's Janet here showing off two of the four adorable animals in the 5219-Loveable Animals set. I usually prefer to use Copic markers for coloring but this time I decided to pull out my pencils and give it a whirl. One of the fun features of this set is that there are several items that you can color and put in the hands of the critters. I decided to give the fox a heart. The dies are all included in this set including the heart. I used my white Gelly Roll pen to draw stitch marks and the XOXO letters. I gave the cat a flower to hold.

These cards are small measuring 4 1/4" x 3" when folded. For the background of each I cut a 4" x 4" heart in half. I heat embossed the sentiments form the set using black embossing powder.

To create the backgrounds, I put stacked two washi tapes together and placed them horizontally about an inch from the bottom. I glued half a heart on each one and then placed the animals using foam tape. I finished decorating the cards by gluing small red glitter hearts above the washi tape. I used the heart die again to cut one pink glitter heart for each card. Just like that, I had two cute little cards for Valentine's Day!
