Getting older is fun with Millie! by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!!

I wholeheartedly agree!! Growing old is definitely fun if you do it with the right people!! And I think Millie is one of those people. LOL!  Doesn't she look like a hoot?!  I stamped Millie onto Cryogen White paper and colored her with Copic markers listed below. I just added polka dots to her top with a white gel pen.  Then sentiment on the front is taken from 5278 Dance It Out Laugh Lines and then cut out using 5134 Banner Double Stitched Dies

I printed the inside sentiment on my computer. My friend Dori used it on a card to another friend, and I just HAD to use it on this card. LOL!!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today and until next time - stay crafty!!
hugs

Whew! It's Not My Birthday!

Hello Ai Fans!

Today I'm sharing with you a simple designed card using the Millie (sku#1932) stamp and What A Feelin' (sku#1942) sentiment stamp. I love this old gal and how she is jumping for joy!

The paper I used is older and from my stash. I inked all the edges of the papers with Tim Holtz mini distress ink in peacock feathers. My only embellishments this time was a few pearls, Wink of Stella in clear glitter on Millie's skirt and Glossy Accents on her glasses.

I love this sentiment! It's a great feeling when it's not your birthday, especially as the years are adding up these days! I kept the inside simple and added a small part of Millie stamped in peacock feathers distress ink to the bottom corner of the card.

Copics used:
Skin: E00, E11, R20, RV17
Hair: E43, E44, E47
Top: BG11, BG13, BG15
Skirt & ruffles: R22, R24

You First... Millie

Hello Ai Fans, Sherry here today sharing with you a card I created using one of the Golden Oldies stamps.

Meet Millie!

(Copic Markers: E000, E00, E02, E11, R20, R05, E23, E25, E27,
B0000, BG02, BG15, BG53, YG07, YG17, YG23)

She was fun to color in and the card came together really quick once I decided on a color palette to use. I think that is what takes me the longest when creating a card. How about you? Do you immediately know what colors to use or are you like me in that it takes forever to find the right mix of colors?

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. I will be back next Wednesday with a new card for you.

Millie by Karen Day

Hello Ai fans!
I have a monochromatic card for you today, featuring the exuberant Millie (Sku#M1932).  When I use Millie on a card, I love to pair her up with the fun sentiment: Caffeinated (Sku#G4144).  I have more than a few girlfriends for whom this card would be perfect!
I've used a chevron striped ribbon, paper flower and a few navy rhinestones, along with a punched border.  I double matted Millie, and have popped her up on pop dots.
Happy stamping everyone!

This week, Reneé is featuring a special project for us!
"I'm sharing a card made with the wonderful Up and Away image. This is LIMITED EDITION and only available until May 20th. That means you have just a few more days to get your hands on it!  All proceeds go to the Obediah Fund, which will support Open Arms Internationals Kambi Teso outreach in Eldoret, Kenya. Your purchase will help build a school.

Since this week's challenge is all about bows I made a fancy bow for my card.  I've included a basic tutorial if you want to give it a try!

Now that the Girlfriends have taken to the air... nothing can stop them.

The darker blue gingham ribbon is 12" long and the lighter colored one is 17" long.
Keep in mind that all of these measurements can be altered depending on how big you want your bow.
The organdy ribbon is 12" as is the solid blue.
After laying out the ribbons you want in your bow just tie the main ribbon around the rest.
On the inside of my card I used two Ai phrases...
and
I stamped the balloon image several times so I could add dimensional layers.
Here's a close up of my bow.

Thanks for that awesome post, Reneé! You can check out Reneé's blog here. Make sure to stop by next week for all our DT 'Show Your Bow' card inspiration! Good luck!
