We're "Going Batty” for challenge #312!

Hello Ai fans!

It's time for a new challenge and this one will be fun!
  Our new challenge is...Going Batty!

Halloween will be here before you know it.  We want to see your
Halloween creations.  It doesn't have to be a card.  Anything crafty will do as long
as it's Halloween themed.  Bonus points if you use Art Impressions stamps!

Lynn is our featured Design Team member for this challenge
and she created a FabBOOlous card for you!

Hello Ai Fans!!!

Watch the video tutorial here!

Todays card and video are inspired by the current Art Impressions Blog Challenge which is called "Going Batty"! I thought it would be fun to create a spinner card using the cute little bat from the Halloween Critters Set (5182) and the pumpkin border from the Pumpkin Mice Flip Card Set (5352).

I will show you how easy it is to create a super fun interactive spinner card. This just requires a bit of clear thread and our bat will look like it is flying on its own! Just wind it up....and let it fly!!!

I really love to look at my stamp sets in a different way so that I can use them in multiple ways. So for this card we will trim away the little critters from inside the pumpkins and just use the pumpkin border on its own.

To set the scene for our card we will use some Distress Oxide Inks and then some beautiful Mica Spray for added shimmer! We will also add some trees and branches in the background with two different stamp sets from the Bible Journaling Sets - Bible Foliage (5073) and He Leads Me (5169).

If you love these little halloween critters as much as I do...you may want to check out my Mini Slimline Halloween Card w/ Glimmer Paste and my Halloween Critters Tag Card!

Thank you so much for joining me today! Have a fun and crafty day!!!

Slim Line Flip Card & Mini Dies | By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai fans!

Another Friday has started! I'm sharing a card that is a little different, a slimline flip card! This is also using a couple of the new Mini Dies sets. The cute Cat and Halloween sets, and also the Mice Flip card for all the stamping.

I'll start off with the dimensions.
The card is a slimline card 8.5in by 3.5in

After cutting a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock down to 8.5in x 5in, I made a pencil mark using a T-square and drew a light line where the 2.5in mark is going down the whole length 8.5in card stock.. This is where I lined up the score edges of the Flip Card die. The fun things is, you can position the Flip Card die on the left side like I have done or on the right side. You could also position it in the middle. The top rectangle part of the die is the flip. This will die cut though the card stock.

One you have erased the pencil marks, line up the score edges and score down to create your fold. Make sure to skip the die cut area and only score to the left or right of the die cut score marks.

I created a border with masking tape on the slim line card base and ink blended a Distress Ink sky and ground. The colors I used are listed below in the product list. The moon is a die cut circle. I used the largest Circle Double Stitch die to die cut a piece of Ranger Water color card stock. The colors of Distress Ink I used on the moon are Hickory Smoke, Mustard Seed, squeezed lemonade and Scattered Straw.

I stamped the sentiments from Pumpkin Mice Flip stamp set, each on 1 half of the moon and stamped the Mice (both sides) with Gina K. Amalgam Ink. Copic Colors listed below. After coloring I die cut all the extras from the WC fence dies and the Cat and Halloween Mini Die sets.

I adhered the moons in place for the front and inside. Then added the mice, fence, cats and bats to create a scene. I tried to mimic what the back of the mice would look like on the other side of the fence for the inside. Don't mind my mistake on the fence, I was so excited on how it was coming together I didn't notice until it was all adhered together.

Copic Markers Used:
Orange Pumpkin - R89, R37, R05, Y38, Y18
Teal Pumpkin - BG09, BG78, BG75, BG15, BG13, BG11
Yellow Pumpkin - E35, E34, YR27, Y26, Y23, Y21
Pink Pumpkin - RV89, R37, RV09, RV55, RV52
Mice - E57, W4, W1, C1
Witch Hats - V06, BV11, Y18

Pumpkin Mice Flip Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

The mice from the Pumpkin Mice Flip stamp set look like they're having a party!  Of course, it's a Halloween party.  I was going to color all four pumpkins orange until I thought of the colorful pumpkins I always see at craft stores this time of the year.
I started by stamping the images onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored them with my Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. I then cut them out using the Rectangle A2 Double Striched Dies.  They aren't the exact shape I needed, so I had to cut them twice cutting the image shorter on my second run through the die cut machine.
I stamped the images onto the same paper and cut them out with the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips. I cut the flip card base using the directions on the Flip Card Die.  I added patterned paper layers from the Basic Grey Eerie 6" x 6" paper collection.
The last thing I did was add the sentiments to the back and front of the card.
Copic Colors Used:
Mice - C00, C1, C3, C5
Hats - BV00, BV02, BV04, YG00, YG03
Ground - E30, E31
Orange Pumpkins - Y21, YR15, YR18, YR24
Tan Pumpkin - E41, E42, E43, E44
Yellow Pumpkin - Y21, Y23, Y35, YR24
Stems - E31, E35, E37

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Day!

Hey Pumpkin Mice Flip Card | By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai Fans!

This week I thought I would share a Flip Card using the Pumpkin Mice set and a video! This stamp is so cute and since these little mice have witches hats, why not make them vanish with a quick masking technique!?

Watch the video here or on youtube

I used the directions on the back of the packaging to create 2 flip card bases one from Neenah 110lb Solar White card stock and the other from the same paper but 80lb. The 110lb card base I set aside for later and the 80lb I used a trimmer to cut in half. I'm going to be using Copic markers today and they will bleed through this paper. So just to hide that I'm backing my coloring.

I stamped the mice using Gina K. Designs Amalgam Jet Black ink, then started coloring. The colors I used are listed below. Once I had the mice, pumpkins and ground colored I used several markers to create a little magic floating up from the their raised paws. Unfortunately the footage was cut off at this point but I basically sketched out a cloud shape then added a bit of color with a purple and a light yellow Copic marker. Nothing fancy and a cloud die would probably work about the same if you have one that fits in that space.

The sentiments in this Pumpkin Flip card set have a beautiful font and I used some Brutus Monroe Gilded embossing powder on both the front and the inside sentiment to make them shine. I love the look the "Hey Pumpkin" has inside the magic cloud, especially when that gold catches the light.

For the flip image of the mice I used some Purple tape to mask off the tops of the pumpkins right. Putting the tape right onto the stamp image. Then I inked of the stamp which is already lined up on the stamp platform. Before stamping the image I peeled off the purple tape. This stamps the pumpkins but not the mice! I used a Micron 0.05 pen to draw in the tops of the pumpkins and colored this image with the same colors as the front image.

All that is left to do is trim down the front and back panels to layer on to the Flip card base.

Copic Markers Used:
R05, Y38, Y35
W6, W3
V09, V06
Y02
YG67, YG63, YG01
C1, C5, Y13

Thank you so much for joining me today!
Happy Stamping!

Today we have Sharon to show you a tutorial for creating your very own flip card!

Hello AI Fans!!

I'm super excited to get to share one of the new Flip Card Sets available now at Art Impressions! These adorable felines are Christmas Kitties!!  I love me some red and green at Christmas, but I really enjoy making cards with non-traditional colors as well.  So that's the direction I took this time.  I just used some digital paper for my card. I always pick my papers first, before I color. That way I can match my Copics to my papers.  Of course I chose some gingham since that's the challenge!

Look at these cuties all colored up! They're so adorable!!

These flip cards are so easy to make!! The instructions are right on the die packaging.

I simply cut the papers to fit onto the card.

Since I'm a dimensional girl,  the Christmas Kitties and sentiment are popped up off the card using mounting tape.

To dress up the bottom, I just cut a strip of my cardstock and punched both sides with a border punch. Then added another little strip of gingham to it. I love how it gives it a lacy look.

Using my Bow Easy, I tied a bow with twine to finish off the front!

And a look at the inside.

I love making these Flip Cards!! They are so easy to make and decorate, but they have a big wow factor! Hope you enjoyed my feature today and I can't wait to see what you make with the Flip Card Sets! Until next time - Stay crafty!!

It's time for a new challenge! To enter, create a card or craft featuring gingham! It is such a versatile pattern, perfect for any season or occasion. Be sure to share your project for a chance to win Art Impressions stamps!
