Happy Campers by Karen Day

Hello Ai fans!
I am sharing a card that I've made using one of the wonderful Ai clear stamp sets available through Michaels stores.  Ever since I first saw this set - I've envisioned it as a pop-up card, and have finally made it happen!  The set includes the four images that I've used, along with four sentiments.
Isn't she fabulous?  You can tell she'll freely give out advice, when asked or not :o)  I cut one of the sentiments into a speech bubble shape to go with her.  Here's the inside:

I used a background die for the hillside, and manually cut out a chunk of the green to form a lake shape behind him.

I think this would make a great retirement card, or maybe a bon voyage card for someone setting off around the country.  Here's a picture to show you the little cutouts that I made in the green cardstock so that the images would stand up:

I added a little die cut shape to the inside, for a spot to write a message.  I think my bright and cheery colours would qualify it for our current Spring Colors challenge!  If you haven't already linked up your creation - there's still time.  Happy stamping!

Karen, I hope you see this since it has been a year since anyone posted. I found out about this stamp set last June when someone on my scrapbooking message board used the Dachshund and the lady on a card for a co-worker and posted it. I love Dachshunds and always have to have one or more. And of course, I have tons of stamps and dies and always want more.

Oh, by the way, I DO have the AI Dachshund and Lab unmounted rubber stamps also. As I said, if it is a Dachshund, I get it! :)

I asked Alissa where did she get it, I just knew it was an AI stamp but couldn't locate it. She said Michaels. It takes nearly 3 hours for ME to get to the nearest Michaels and before I could order it online, she picked one up and sent it to me. Wonderful gift. While seeing what other people did with the stamp set, I found this blog. I thought SOME DAY I WILL do my own version. But all along, I planned to use my travel trailer die instead of the stamp, I thought it might be a better size and because I simply wanted to use it! :)

A couple at work are retiring and leaving this week. I've had in mind a bon voyage type card with a boat and it hit me, they are going to be traveling in their RV for a while so NOW is the time to make this card. I used two Dachshunds since that is what I have right now. I decided to use my grass border die at the end and folded back. Wound up using some scattered around since I screwed up and had the popup the wrong direction at first so I had to do some covering up. I was NOT going to go find another piece of cardstock the exact shade of my green Copic marker! :)

I used a hillside border die but stitches, no trees (also from Alissa as a prize I won before she sent me the stamp set). I didn't have little trees, I decided to use some tiny clouds I had for an interesting sky. I had the dogs too far from the right edge so to center everything, I got out a wood sign die and stamped "Home is where you park it!" on that one. Decided I needed another sign and stamped the "Retired" on it and it is diagonal across the other one, glued behind the grass.

I did do the front totally different. I used the same 3 inch travel trailer die with a 3-1/2 inch SUV die and cut the SUV the color of their vehicle. Cut the road with grass on the edge and used a cloud border die to cut a cloud the width of the card. I cut out "Best Wishes" with a phrase die and used a "cookie cutter" type 3/4 inch alphabet die set to cut Al & Sue. Love the way it turned out, but I hate to give it away now!

Thank you SO much for posting your card. I can't tell what size you did but I think my 5x7 is a little bigger. I needed that size for my SUV and RV on the front.
