Hello Ai Fans!
Today I have a birthday card that would be fun to send to someone for a big birthday, or any birthday at all!
I wanted to do something different, for me at least, for this card. I went WAY outside my comfort zone to try making a background for the ladies!
I used a ruler and a pencil to draw in all of the lines for the paneling on the wall, the wood floor and the outline for the rug. Using a pencil first makes it much less intimidating as I could erase anything I didn't like. Once I was satisfied with the pencil lines, I used a black Micron 05 pen with my ruler to go over the pencil lines.
I then created a mask for the lower portion of the stamp so I could stamp in the pattern for the rug without getting it on their feet. I also masked off the floor and wall from the rug using some Post-It tape. Once I had the pattern stamped on the rug, I removed all masks and then colored it all with my alcohol markers. This next photo shows some of my work in progress.
Another thought on this is that since I was a bit unsure about making the background, I worked on it first. That way, if I messed up something, then I haven't wasted my time coloring all the details of the ladies! Also, by stamping the sentiment for the front of the card on a separate piece of paper, again, I wasn't nervous about making a mistake on my work!

I used the birthday cake stamp that's included with this set to decorate the inside of the card.
