Never Too Old! by Carol Hintermeier

Happy Monday Ai Friends!  My card today features the oh, so fun Never Too Old Laugh Lines set.  There are so many fun and silly sentiments that will surely make the recipient smile!

I stamped this gal in Copic safe ink onto a piece of 3-¾" x 5" white cardstock and then colored her with the Copic markers listed below.  I also stamped her onto some masking paper and fussy cut it out.  Here are the steps I took to create the background followed by a few photos (click to enlarge):
  • After covering the lady with the masking paper, I put down a grass border mask and then put a brick stencil over that.
  • Using a blending brush, I added a light gray ink through the brick stencil.  I added a darker shade of gray through the brick stencil in random areas.
  • I removed the stencil and mask and put on a mask above the grass.  I used two shades of Distress Ink (see supply list below) to create the grass.  The third photo is with all masks removed.

I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and used a die from the Tag Stitched Die set to cut it out.  To get the rectangle shape instead of a tag shape, after I cut it the first time, I flipped the paper around so the triangle shape was below the bottom of the tag cut line.   I used a few foam squares to pop it up.

I decided that she needed flowers and presents for her birthday, so I used two of the Holiday Mansion accessory sets along with the included dies to add these.  The presents are from the HM Birthday Set and the flowers from the HM Garden Set.  These are also popped up with foam squares.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Have a crafty week!

Since it's Monday, we have a fun project from our design team member, Carol Hintermeier!

Happy Monday Ai Fans!!

Today I'm sharing a card using the beautiful Gazebo TryFold set.  The images in this set are so pretty and just as timeless as when the set was first released!

This is so easy to create!  All the directions you need are on the back of the packaging.  The images were stamped onto Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink since I was planning on using my Zig watercolor markers. (If you aren't watercoloring, the pre-folded cards from the TryFold Cardstock & Envelope pack make this even easier!)  I've listed all my Zig colors below.  Since there aren't a lot of instructions for me to give you, I have LOTS of photos!!

I decided to use the beautiful Butterfly Clasp die on this to hold it closed for mailing.

This is the view when the left panel is opened.

The right side is open, revealing the final image and sweet sentiment.

Here's a final look at the card after removing it from the envelope.

I hope this has inspired you to give the TryFold cards a try!  There are many Tryfolds and mini TryFolds for every occasion.  Thank you for stopping by!  Have a fun, crafty week!

Large elephant Happy Birthday Shaker Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

Have you ever needed a card much larger than the normal A2 size?  I did, so I made this elephant shaker card using the Elephant Twist Ties Set along with the Block Letters Die Set.  It measures 8" x 10 1/2".  It was perfect for a large group of people to sign.
A white piece of paper was stenciled with the Picket Fence Life Changing Blender Brushes using Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Ink over an Altenew stencil.  The Block Letter Dies were lined up on a T-Square ruler and taped to the paper using low tack tape before being cut out with my die cut machine.  Once they were all cut out I attached a piece of acetate behind the paper with scor-tape.  I added a double layer of foam tape around the words on the back of the paper and added in the confetti before adding a piece of white card stock to the back of  the foam tape.  It was then layered onto a dark blue piece of card stock and then added to the card. The elephants were added to the card with foam tape.
The elephants were stamped onto Canson XL watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and water colored with Tombow Dual Brush Markers. I used N25 Lamp black for the bodies of the elephants and 725 Rhodamine Red to accent them.  The flowers were colored with 177 Jade Green, 725 Rhodamine Red and 993 Chrome Orange.  After they dried they were cut out.

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Day!

Wheelie Good Birthday by Carol Hintermeier

Hello Ai Fans!

For my card today I've used the adorable Hamster Wheel Cubbies set.  These Cubbies sets are so fun and easy to use!  All the dies you need are included that will cut out the stamped images as well as the door, windows, and slits to tuck the critters into.

All of the images were stamped with Copic safe ink onto Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock.  After I colored them with the Copics listed below, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

It's really fun playing with the little hamsters deciding which little opening to put them in!  Once I had them attached to the hamster house, I added foam tape to the back for dimension.  I attached it to the layered panel, which was adhered to an A2 top-fold card base.  I die cut the stamped sentiment with a Rectangle A2 Double Stitched die.  I added a few enamel dots near the sentiment.

Have you tried any of the Cubbies sets yet?  They are all so fun and I hope you've enjoyed seeing this one today!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a fun, crafty week!

Day Full of Treats by Carol Hintermeier

Happy Monday Ai Fans!

Have you tried any of the Cubbies?  They are all so adorable, and being a dog lover, I really like the Dog House Cubbies!  I had fun coloring this in kind of rainbow colors!  This first photo shows how you would close the little doors to put it into an envelope and mail.  When your recipient takes it out, the doors will be closed flat.

This next photo shows how you see the adorable pups with the doors open!  So fun!

This may look very detailed to make, but actually it's pretty quick!  I stamped the images with Copic safe ink and colored the dog house and sign with the Copics listed below.  (Apologies for not have the colors for the dogs.  As I am preparing this post, I realized that I colored the dogs quite a while ago before I had many Copics and was still using some Spectrum Noir markers.  I've lost the list!)  Once you have everything colored, use the included dies to cut it all out.

A few tips that I've learned from using these cute Cubbie sets.  Adhere your critters first, trimming where needed.  I like to add some thin foam tape for a bit of dimension with these sets.  As you are doing this, make sure you don't put foam tape where it shows through the door!  Ask me how I know!  Haha!  I discovered this AFTER I had adhered the dog houses to the card base!!!!   (I saved this by using some Un-Du with a small tool I could slide through the door and under the foam tape--then I used my craft knife to cut and remove it.  The Un-Du will dry and will leave absolutely no residue!! YAY!)

I stamped one of the sentiments from the set directly onto the 5-½" x 4-¼" card base with Versafine.  There are several really cute sentiments included.

I hope you're inspired to give these adorable Cubbie sets a try!  And have learned something from my goof!  LOL!  Have a wonderful, crafty week!

Go Nuts! by Carol Hintermeier

Hello Ai Fans!

Today my card features the so fun and adorable Woodland Tree Cubbies!

All of the Cubbies sets are so cute and versatile!  There are four sentiments included with this set to customize your card for several occasions.

The first photo above shows the card with the little doors closed.  All of the dies are included to cut out the tree with the windows and doors, plus all of the critters and leaves.  This next photo shows the doors open with the critters peaking out!  So cute!  I actually created this card and cards for all of the Critter Cubbies line during pre-production for Ai to use on their display at Creativation.  I say that to offer apologies for not having the marker colors I used here.  I've lost my notes for this one and have searched everywhere!  It's really not hard to color though.  Just grab your favorite browns and greens for the tree and leaves.  Then just pick some fun colors for the doors and house!  When it's all colored, have fun placing the critters here and there, wherever you'd like!

I used Ai's Rectangle A2 Double Stitched dies and the Circle Double Stitched dies to cut out the sentiment and the white card panel.

Which of the Critter Cubbies is your favorite?  It's hard to choose, I think!  Thank you for stopping by and have a fun, crafty week!

Reeling in the Big One! by Carol Hintermeier

Hello Ai Friends!!

I've used the fun Reel Great Guys set for my masculine birthday card today.  If you change the sentiment, this would make a great Father's Day card too!

This card really came together pretty quick.  I used my MISTI to stamp all the images and sentiment  onto Neenah paper with Amalgam ink.  As you can see I only stamped a portion of the boat image that has the men in it.  I colored everything with my Copic markers, listed below.

I used another sentiment and image from the set for the inside of the card.  It's stamped with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope this has given you inspiration for using this fun set.  Have a wonderful crafty week!
