Hello Ai Fans! I hope your week is off to a great start! My card today features the oh so adorable Halloween Magic set!
I love creating inky backgrounds and had so much fun with this one! I began by stamping the girl with her cat onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and some masking paper. Fussy cut the mask. I used a ruler and pencil to lightly draw a ground line. I rubbed an anti-static powder bag all over. Then, using some star stamps from my stash I stamped them in Versamark and added glow-in-the-dark embossing powder. Then I heat embossed it. Add masks for the girl, moon, and ground. (I used a circle die to cut a shape to mask a circle for the moon and Post-It tape for the ground.) I then used several Distress Oxide inks to create a night sky. The inks I used are Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, Seedless Preserves, Fossilized Amber, and Black Soot. Next I spritzed water onto the background and blotted it up with a clean paper towel. Then I spattered some diluted white acrylic paint lightly for more starry effects. Finally, I sprayed a very fine mist of water mixed with Perfect Pearls. Here is a photo showing the background with all of the masks in place.
When the background was finished, I colored the moon by adding some scribbles of a Zig Clean Color marker in Fog Gray and smoothing it out with a damp brush. I put a bit of Fossilized Amber on my craft mat, and used my wet brush to add a diluted color around the edges of the moon and a bit here and there on the moon. I used alcohol markers to color the girl, cat and ground. (I added her shadow with a grey marker, then went over it all with the green.)
I went into a closet with just a bit of light to show you the glow-in-the-dark stars! Isn't that fun?!

For the inside I added a white panel using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and two of the sentiments included in the set.
