2019 Class Exclusive Watercolor Set with Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I consider myself very lucky to live in the Orlando Florida area.  We have so many  attractions and beaches within minutes of our house.  This last weekend I was extra lucky because the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo was in town and I took the Art Impressions watercolor class with Kate Swanson as well as spent a day working at their booth!  If you ever have the chance to take this class you get the Exclusive stamp set.  You can't purchase it or find it outside of the class. This year's Exclusive is a Flower Cart that you can fill it up with whatever you want.
I started by coloring the bottom of the flower cart with 969 Chocolate and 565 Deep Blue Tombow Dual Brush Markers and stamping it off onto a piece of scrap paper before I stamped it onto my piece of watercolor paper.  I then pulled the color from the lines with my brush.  I used post it tape to mask off the cart before using the same process to stamp the four pots from the stamp set.  I used my stamp positioner to get them exactly where I wanted them. I pulled the color from sides of the pots being sure to keep the centers empty to show the shape. Then I used the flowers and foliage from the WC Mini Flower Set and the WC Foliage Set 4 to add to the pots.  I used 249 Hunter Green, 177 Dark Jade, 636 Imperial Purple, 725 Rhodamine Red and 526 True Blue markers to do this. Once I finished stamping my images and pulling out the colors with water, I added the top of the flower cart using the stamp positioner to help determine where to place it.  I stamped the top with just 969 Chocolate and used damp brush on the lines.  I added some 493 Reflex Blue marker to my palette and watered it down to paint on a sky.  I also painted on some ground with the two greens from my palette.  I used the tiny grass from the WC Foliage Set 1 below the cart along with some other grasses to ground the cart.  Then I drew in the wheel spokes and the posts that held up the top of the cart with a pencil.  The last thing I did was add some stripes onto the cart topper with 493 Reflex Blue.
We made four cards in the Watercolor class.  This is one of my favorite projects.  I just love this truck because you can fill it with just about anything.
Kate and I posed for a picture at the end of the show.  It was really nice to meet some of you there!

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great Day!

Wonderful cards Jil. I love that old truck one the best though...a great country feel to it.

Love your work Jil. Do you offer classes in Orlando?

Hi Susie! Thank you. I used to teach in the Orlando area, but I don't really know of any stores. I am looking to get something going. Please let me know on my blog if you have any suggestions.
