You Take The Cake Challenge #322

  Hello Ai fans!

We have a more meaningful challenge for you this week.  Though the name may sound lighthearted, our challenge is meant to honor women!  YOU Take the Cake!

We'll be sponsoring an Instagram Hop on the 8th of March for Women's Day.

The hop runs from March 8th-15th.

There are many prizes to be won and one of them is from Art Impressions.  Be sure to check our IG next week for that!

For now, you can start by entering your creation celebrating women into our You Take the Cake! challenge.  Show your mom, sister, friends, any woman in your life that you appreciate them and that in your eyes...they take the cake.

We have our winners from our last challenge which was Oceans of Fun. (projects with water on them)

We'd like to congratulate Pamela Duncan for her birthday card.
She used 4161 – Catching Z’s Set and 5278 – Dance It Out Laugh Lines.

Now, onto our featured Design Team member fort his challenge!  Janet has created such a fun card for your inspiration.  She clearly knows a woman who loves wine and cupcakes.  Then again...who doesn't! lol!

Hello Ai Fans! It's Janet here today for the kick off of our newest challenge, You Take the Cake! My card features the expressive lady from the Hats Off 5405 - Mrs. Set. Included are several different hats that fit on her head and sentiments that are so perfect for the hats.

This card has two of my most favorite things, wine and cake! I've placed a cupcake from the 5104 - Octopus Flip Card into her hand for a birthday treat. That's right! Who would expect a cupcake in a set with a water theme? Just shows you how versatile Ai stamp set are.

I'm also celebrating the special friends in our lives that make such a difference. You know the ones. They pick up your kids when you get thrown a curve ball. They deliver soup to your door when you're under the weather. They celebrate your joys and hug you in hard times. They make our life better in so many ways. They Take The Cake!

To make this card, I stamped the lady, the wine hat and the cupcake on water color paper. I water colored them using Tombow Dual Tip markers and a brush.

After drying I used the included dies to cut out the lady and the hat and fussy cut the cupcake.

I picked some birthday patterned paper to use as a mat on an A2 card and used a coordinating pattern and cardstock to make another accent panel for the front. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Mrs. Set that celebrates friendship.

I made an insert for the card and used a piece of leftover birthday cardstock in it and another sentiment from the 4998 - Office Party Set.

I just love the expression on this lady! If you are like me you can totally hear her voice as she says it like she sees it! I love it so much!

Thanks for joining us here today. I hope you'll take part in our You Take The Cake challenge.

Happy Creating!
