Happy Wednesday Ai Fans!!!
Watch video tutorial here!!!
Let's create a fun and crafty card using the Ai Queen of Craft (5563) stamp set. This set is just perfect to create cards for your fellow stampers and scrapbookers! We will be using a simple spotlight technique in order to highlight just a small section of this image. This will reduce the amount of coloring that is needed....especially for those of you who don't love the coloring process...or for those of you who are looking for a quicker way to use your large images or backgrounds.
We can start by stamping the image twice and then cutting the full image out using the Ai Nested Square Dies (5725) and the Ai Nested Oval Dies (5727) to cut out the area that is going to be in the spotlight!
Next we can color in the images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Flesh Colour, Sugared Almond Pink, Orange, Yellow, Peach Pink, Lilac, Turquoise Green, Lt Green, Lt Gray, Beige.
We can go back to the nested square dies to create the layers of pink and green for our card and for the sentiment on the inside of the card. These nested die sets have a large selections of sizes which is great for layering your cards as well as creating frames of various sizes!
Now let's use the fun and festive Lawn Fawn Splatter Stencil to create a colorful background using several pastel colors of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. We will also use this stencil to create a matching envelope!
Next we can die cut the "Crafty" sentiment die that is included in the stamp set. I die cut this in several colors but did decide on the pink one....of course!
Let's glue all of our layers on to the card and then add a bit of baker's twine in pink/white around the bottom of the card and tie it into a pretty bow.
We can add some sparkle to the sentiment with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen and we can add this to some of the other images as well.
Let's add a few heart gems in a pastel pink from the Dress My Craft collection. The final step will be to stamp and assemble the sentiment for the inside of the card and add the little cluster of paint brushes (included in the stamp set) underneath the sentiment.
This finishes off our simple spotlight design. I hope you decide to give this fun technique a try!
Thank you so much for joining me today! Have a fun and crafty day!!!
