A Card for a Boy - I Like the Way You Roll by Janet

Hi Ai fans! Today I'm rolling with our current challenge, Get In Shape. This has been a great stretch challenge for me since my normal go-to card shape is an A2 and sometimes a 5 x 7 card. I was looking at my collection with fresh eyes and realized that the Cubbie line all include the most fun stamped shapes. Why not make a shaped card base to fit the fun cubbie stamp image? The result is an adorable little card with a ton of personality. Plus, we all know how hard masculine cards can be and this one would be right up a boy's alley! What a fun card to give to a child or friend who needs a little encouragement or has recently done something great.

To make this, I started by stamping the cubbie image and hamsters from 5099 - Hamster Wheel Cubbies on alchohol ink friendly paper with Memento Black Tuxedo. Then I colored it with Copic Sketch markers. The image makes up pretty quickly and would be totally fun to do in pencils or water color. I cut all the pieces including the hamster house with the included dies. So easy! I glued the hamsters inside and under the house before I glued it to gray metallic cardstock. Then I hand drew a wide border around the house and fussy cut it to create the completed card front.

The back of the card was made by tracing the front and cutting it out. I put a score line 1/2" from the top of it and folded. A hinge mechanism is created by using a little glue above the score line to attach the front and back together. Last, I stamped the sentiment, "I like the way your roll!" with the included stamp in the set. Oh, my goodness! Cuteness overload!! You can find all the sets in the Cubbie line by visiting the store here. With 15 different themes, you're sure to find just what you're looking for.

Just Keep Rolling Spinner Card by Bri Firth

Hello Ai Fans - Bri Firth here! Today, I am sharing an interactive card featuring the Hamster Wheel Cubbies Set. The Hamster Wheel Cubbies Set is part of the Critter Cubbies selection. This spinner card is perfect for Ai's current challenge, Let's Get In Shape. More details on this challenge here.

To make this card a non-standard shaped card, I decided to go with a circle for the card base so that the little hamsters and their house look like they are inside a hamster ball.

I used my Copic YG03 marker on lime green cardstock to try to create the hamster ball background adding the vented air holes and the groove where the two halves line up. I also used my Copics to color up the hamsters and their house. I used BV00's, BG00's, Y00's and YG00's to color the house. I used my earth tones and grays to color up the hamsters.

I used white embossing powder to heat emboss the "I like the way you roll" sentiment onto the circular card base.

For the interactive element, I decided I wanted the hamster ball to "roll" like one would in real life. I die cut another lime green circle and attached it to the original base using a Silver Brad. The brad is covered by the hamster house so it is a hidden element. Check out this video below to see the interactive element in action.

Hamster Wheel Cubbies Waterfall Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

Some interactive cards look like they're complicated to make but they can be rather simple if you just know how they're assembled. I made this waterfall card with a long strip of paper and a few folds.  Of course I used the cute hamsters from the Hamster Wheel Cubbies and a greeting from the Christmas Wreath Set.  Maybe you'll try this on one of your cards.
The images were stamped onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post.
I created the waterfall feature with one strip of paper.  It measured 2" by 7 1/2".  I also had a thin strip of paper to wrap around the entire piece as a band to hold it to my card.  I then scored the card at 2", 2 1/2", 3" and 3 1/2".  I made sure that all of the score lines bent back and forth well and then I folded the paper behind itself at the last score line. I then attached the belly band to the top flap and wrapped it around both pieces leaving it.
I started by attaching the last scene to the bottom piece over the belly band.  I then added the next scene to the 1/2" spine with double sided adhesive.  I added the next two scenes to the other two spines until all four scenes were attached in the correct order.
I cut a piece of decorative paper to 5" x 1 3/4" and cut the end of it with the banner die.  I attached it to the bottom piece of the waterfall feature so it could be pulled out. I then attached the entire waterfall feature to the card with the belly band.  Don't add adhesive to anything else or everything will stick together.  I learned how to make this card on you tube.  You may find it easier to look there for full directions on how to make it.
Copic Colors Used:
Main Hamster - W1, E30, E31, R00
Second Hamster - W1, W3
Floor - W00, W1
Wall - R00, R01
Tree- YG05, YG17, YG67, G29
Present Red- R05, YG17, R37
Present Green - YG61, YG63, YG67

Ground Panel Three and Four - B0000, B00

Wheelie Good Birthday by Carol Hintermeier

Hello Ai Fans!

For my card today I've used the adorable Hamster Wheel Cubbies set.  These Cubbies sets are so fun and easy to use!  All the dies you need are included that will cut out the stamped images as well as the door, windows, and slits to tuck the critters into.

All of the images were stamped with Copic safe ink onto Neenah Solar White 80# cardstock.  After I colored them with the Copics listed below, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

It's really fun playing with the little hamsters deciding which little opening to put them in!  Once I had them attached to the hamster house, I added foam tape to the back for dimension.  I attached it to the layered panel, which was adhered to an A2 top-fold card base.  I die cut the stamped sentiment with a Rectangle A2 Double Stitched die.  I added a few enamel dots near the sentiment.

Have you tried any of the Cubbies sets yet?  They are all so fun and I hope you've enjoyed seeing this one today!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a fun, crafty week!
