Sail Mini Die Square Card | By Jessica Shier

 Hello Ai fans!

It's Jessica and happy Friday! New Mini dies are here and I saw the sail set and immediately thought of this design. I've been seeing silhouette designs around our community. It's such a great idea for this last few weeks of summer. Especially if your not ready to let the summer go quite yet.

Join me on my channel and watch the whole card process video here.

The card size for this design is a little smaller then my average A2 4.25 in x 5.5in. I decided to create a 4x4 in square card, using the largest square die from the Art impressions Square Double Stitch die set. Why not play with all the dies!? I also created a white frame using the second and third to largest square dies.
For the Mini Dies set, you get a cute little sailboat, bird, boat wheel and a anchor. I used black card stock for the sail boat and birds (die cutting multiples). This will create the silhouette focal point. For the anchor and wheel I decided to go with some other neutral colored card stock. This will add a bit more color.

For the background I used a combination of Distress Oxide ink colors. I wanted to show off the detail of the stitching on around the edge of the card base, so I masked that part with masking tape. Using another piece of the masking tape as a straight edge for the horizon line I began blending my inks. I started with the sky, the colors I used are; Speckled Egg, Tumbled Glass and Fossilized Amber. The sea is a beautiful combination of Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide inks.

The inside of this card uses the same components as the front. It's super easy to die cut more of the same shapes from the Sail Mini Dies set. I just love how quick this came together. But I didn't use all dies and inks! I did use a couple of stamps for the sentiments on the front and inside. One that I thought would go perfectly with my sailboat scene is the sentiment from the Octopus Flip Card set. I stamped the "Seas the Day on the front below the sailboat with Gina K. Designs In the Navy ink. This stamped beautifully over the Distress Oxide ink blend and took just a moment longer to dry then if you were stamping on regular card stock. On the inside I used the other sentiment with the same colored ink. I know "Seas the Day!" is suppose to be the secondary but I just loved how it fit so well with the sail silhouette scene.

I did have some glitter to the die cuts on the front with a glitter brush pen and added glossy accents over the top to keep the glitter from moving around and smearing everywhere.

Thank you so much for joining me today!
Happy die cutting!!
