The current challenge, V is for Vacation really got me thinking about summertime leisure. To continue the theme, today's card celebrates the best kind of vacation - the permanent one that comes with retirement. I know lots of people want to work for a long time. I confess I am not one of them. I have so many other things I want to do and experience that I can't because of my career. I greatly look forward to leaving the responsibilities of work behind me when the time is right. I have been saving for retirement since my first paycheck. No lie! Four years and five months to go for me - but who's counting!
I used images and the sentiment from 5187-Happy Trails Set. I stamped and colored the tree, the man in the chair and the balloons. Then I fussy cut them out. I mounted the oval cut frame with foam tape over wave patterned paper and cut a hill out of another patterned paper to create the sand hill he's sitting on. I added some beige sand with wet glue to further convey a sandy scene. I mounted the images on the frame which achieves a 3D appearance.
