Swingin’ Through Retirement! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions friends!

Tasha here sharing a fun golf-themed card created with the new 6080-Birdie Betty Stamp Set and the 6101-Golf Paper Pack.

I started by stamping Betty and her golf bag with black ink, cutting them out with the included dies, and coloring them up. One of my favorite things about Art Impressions is how cute the outfits always are; I had so much fun giving Betty a purple and white look with pops of pink on her shoes and glasses. Honestly, I’d love to have an outfit like this for a day on the golf course!

To build the card, I layered Betty and her bag over a patterned paper from the Golf Pack; I love the little golf scene design.

For the sentiment, I stamped “Swingin’ Through Retirement” and die-cut it with a circle, then added a small purple heart to tie in with her outfit. A mix of green, tan, and plaid layers finished everything off with that classic golf vibe.

Hope you enjoyed today's project and are having a wonderful day!

Sports & Leisure Challenge #410

Hello and welcome to our newest challenge!

Sports & Leisure

Check out her card and then check below to see who won our Stitches & Scallops challenge

Now, here's Sharon.

 Hello AI Fans!

I'm super excited to be able to introduce you to our brand new Challenge #410 - Sports and Leisure!! The recently released AI People are all perfect for this challenge!! And actually so are a LOT of other Art Impressions Stamp Sets. But I chose to use the beautiful #6074 Pickleball Patty along with her twin sister Peggy!! LOL! I created Peggy by stamping a reverse image of Patty. Before stamping, I removed the ink from the ball. After stamping, I just used one of my Copic multiliner pens to finish the lines of the paddle. I'll tell you a little tidbit about Patty and Peggy, they actually believe that Serena and Venus doesn't hold a candle to their own sportsmanship and talent! There's nothing better than a confident and kind woman!! 😁 I'll be very honest, this one took me a few (cough, cough)  hours of my brain power and gluing talent. There were quite a few "rip it off and start this one again" moments. But I must admit that I love how it turned out.  I knew the type of card I wanted to make, but wasn't quite sure how I was going to go about getting it. So that's a big reason for all the trial and error. The first thing I knew I wanted to do was make a center stairstep card. If you would like to know the dimensions of the cuts and folds, just ask. I'll be happy to supply them. 💛 Please just message me an email for a reply.

I'll start you out with a picture of the finished card, and then I will break down the process for you. There is a pull tab that will pull Peggy (the one on the far left in the yellow cap) across the front of the card so it looks like (with a little imagination that is) that she is running up to the net in defense. At least that was my goal. LOL!

In the image below, you can see the center stairstep card after I'd added some decorative paper and the net across the center opening. To make the net, I simply ordered some netting material from Amazon and then cut a strip about the width I was looking to make the net. I then cut two strips of paper 1/2" wide and 6" long and scored it down the center at 1/4". I simply folded over at the score and added a healthy amount of Art Glitter Glue, pressed the netting up into it keeping it fairly straight, and then put a heavy weight on it until it dried. I used a heavy weight cardstock for it as I wanted it to be nice and sturdy.  Once that  side is fully dried, do the exact same to the bottom of the net. The slide channel that is cut at the bottom of the card front is the part of the mechanism that will allow Peggy to run across the front of the card. It is hidden by the green grass panel that is popped up in order to give the mechanism the room to work.

Peggy is attached to the pull tab by using a strong piece of acetate.

Patty is getting ready to slam one over to Peggy! LOL!

Peggy is sensing what Patty is about to do, so she's ready to move over to the other side of the court to be ready!  I added a tree and fence die cut to both sides of the stairstep card.

And there she goes!!

Now I did find that with all the weight that was added to this card, it did not want to stand up straight. So I came up with an easy fix for that.  I decided about how far I wanted the card to spread out and measured the distance. I figured I wanted a two inch spread about half way down the card. So I cut two pieces of heavy weight cardstock four inches long. I scored it at 1", 2" and 3". So fold it as mountain, valley, and mountain. Burnish your folds, then glue them inside the card where you want them. These pieces will fold flat with the rest of the card, but it also keeps the card from splatting flat on the table.

So that's it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit and until next time - stay crafty!!

Copic markers used:
E000, 00, 04, 11, 17, 33, 97, and 99

Y26, 32, 35, and 38
G24
T1, 2, 4, and 6

I mean...come ON!! How amazing is this card?! Patty "runs" to get the ball.

Seas the Day! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions friends!

Tasha here sharing a new card created with the 6075-Crusin’ Carol Set and the 6098-Cruise Paper Pack. I’ve been loving all the new Ai People sets, and this one is extra special to me; I LOVE cruising!

For this project, I went with bright tropical colors; perfect for a Caribbean getaway! One of my favorite parts of cruising is trying all the fun fruity drinks, and Carol is definitely on cruise control with her frozen cocktail in hand. Time to kick off that vacation!

The background came together super fast since it’s one of the awesome pre-printed sheets from the Cruise Paper Pack. Just add Carol and you’ve got an instant vacation scene; I love how easy and vibrant it turned out!

To finish the card, I layered tan, white, and navy cardstock along with a fun anchor-patterned paper to match the cruise theme. I also added one of the included sentiments to tie everything together.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project and that you're having a fabulous day!

Loungin' Lifestyle! Card by Tasha

 Hi Art Impressions friends!

Tasha here sharing a fun Summer card created with the new 6077-Loungin’ Linda stamp set and the 6100-Lounge Paper Pack.

To start my card, I stamped the fabulous Linda image and used the included die to cut her out. I colored her using markers inspired by the sunny pool scene in the paper pack; so many cheerful Summer colors! I even used a black liner pen to add some custom details to her swimsuit. I love coloring clothing and hats, so this stylish stamp is quickly becoming one of my new favorites. And seriously, how fun is that oversized hat?

After Linda was all colored and ready to lounge, I popped her up in the center of the card using foam tape for extra dimension. To finish it off, I layered pink, coral, and white cardstock to match her outfit. These bright colors are perfect for Summer, and I love how everything came together!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you’re having a wonderful day!

Vacation Vibes! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions friends!

Tasha here, and today I’m excited to share a new card featuring the fabulous 6075-Cruisin’ Carol Set. I absolutely love tropical getaways, and Carol is clearly all set for sunshine, relaxation, and a fruity drink or two!

To start off, I stamped the fun Carol image along with the little suitcase using black hybrid ink. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out before coloring with Copic Markers. I kept the color palette vibrant and tropical, and to match the theme, I created a beach-inspired background using layers of patterned paper. For the center card, I used the 5063-Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies to give it a clean, polished edge.

To add a bit of sparkle (because who doesn’t love a little glitter?), I layered in some silver glitter paper. Once that center piece was complete, I built up the rest of the card using dark purple, white, and lavender cardstock, along with a gorgeous floral patterned paper from Ai. The purple flowers really caught my eye and inspired the purples I used in Carol’s outfit; so fun to coordinate everything!

For the finishing touches, I stamped “Vacation Vibes” onto a small banner and added some white gel pen accents to highlight a few details to complete the design!

I hope today’s card inspires you to craft something sunny and fun using the Cruisin’ Carol Set!

Ride the Wave Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here with a new card created with the 5111 - Loads of Fun Set. Laundry is a never-ending chore, but this lady looks like she is having a blast!

The image was stamped with black ink and colored with markers. I picture her listening to some Beach Boys and daydreaming about catching some waves on a beach somewhere. Chores always go faster with good music!

For the greeting, I stamped "Ride the Wave" with the same black ink and used Distress Oxide Ink add the purple color on the center card. I like the way the purple and blue look with the pop of bright orange!

Lastly, I added layers of purple paper to coordinate with center card and attached several white enamel dots to complete the design.

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you are having a great day!
