Swingin’ Through Retirement! Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Art Impressions friends!

Tasha here sharing a fun golf-themed card created with the new 6080-Birdie Betty Stamp Set and the 6101-Golf Paper Pack.

I started by stamping Betty and her golf bag with black ink, cutting them out with the included dies, and coloring them up. One of my favorite things about Art Impressions is how cute the outfits always are; I had so much fun giving Betty a purple and white look with pops of pink on her shoes and glasses. Honestly, I’d love to have an outfit like this for a day on the golf course!

To build the card, I layered Betty and her bag over a patterned paper from the Golf Pack; I love the little golf scene design.

For the sentiment, I stamped “Swingin’ Through Retirement” and die-cut it with a circle, then added a small purple heart to tie in with her outfit. A mix of green, tan, and plaid layers finished everything off with that classic golf vibe.

Hope you enjoyed today's project and are having a wonderful day!

V is for Retirement! by Janet

The current challenge, V is for Vacation really got me thinking about summertime leisure. To continue the theme, today's card celebrates the best kind of vacation - the permanent one that comes with retirement. I know lots of people want to work for a long time. I confess I am not one of them. I have so many other things I want to do and experience that I can't because of my career. I greatly look forward to leaving the responsibilities of work behind me when the time is right. I have been saving for retirement since my first paycheck. No lie! Four years and five months to go for me - but who's counting!

I used images and the sentiment from 5187-Happy Trails Set. I stamped and colored the tree, the man in the chair and the balloons. Then I fussy cut them out. I mounted the oval cut frame with foam tape over wave patterned paper and cut a hill out of another patterned paper to create the sand hill he's sitting on. I added some beige sand with wet glue to further convey a sandy scene. I mounted the images on the frame which achieves a 3D appearance.

What's your idea of the perfect vacation? Make a card to show us and submit it for our challenge. Link it here: CHALLENGE LINK

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll stop by the store soon for all your card making needs.

Happy Retirement Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a retirement card created with the 4900-Reel Great Guys Set and the 5187-Happy Trails Set!

I started by stamping the cute little doggie image and colored him with Copic Markers. This dog looks so happy and relaxed, perfect for a retirement card!

To complete the scene, I stamped palm trees from the Happy Trails Set and ink blended the sky and water. A white gel pen was used to add highlights and waves; I love the sparkle on the tube!

Lastly, I added layers of yellow, blue, and gold glitter paper before adding the card to a white card base.

I hope you enjoyed this retirement card and are having a great day!

Happy Retirement Card by Tasha

 Good morning Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a retirement card created with the Ai 5187-Happy Trails Set! This stamp set is so cute and I love the camper stamp!

For this scene I started by stamping the camper with black ink and colored the images and background with Copic Markers. On a separate sheet of paper, I stamped the man and after I cut the image out, I used foam tape to attach him to the card. I also colored the white areas to match the background.

The greeting "Happy Retirement!" was stamped in black directly ion the colored grass. The simple sentiment goes with the relaxing vibe of this card.

Lastly, I added layers of red cardstock to coordinate with the red in the camper and a layer of check pattern paper to complete the design.

This card measures 4-1/4"x5-1/2" (A2).

Thank you so much for checking out today's project and I hope you are inspired to create a card with the Ai 5187-Happy Trails Set!

Happy Retirement! by Niccole

Hello Ai fans!!

I am using the newly released stamp set called Happy Trails.  This stamp set is so much fun. Tomorrow you will see another card using this set for the current challenge going on.
I knew as soon as I saw this set I wanted a chill, laid back retirement card.  I think I achieved it with this card; wouldn't you agree??
I started by stamping the images all at the same time with my Misti. I lined up the palm tree, the sentiment, and beach bum and stamped them at once.  I then stamped them a second time onto my masking paper and covered up my palm tree and beach bum.
Ok, here is where the magic happens.  I took another piece of masking paper and made a horizon line.  So I have the bottom portion of my card covered along with my palm tree and beach bum.  I ink blended some blue in to emulate the sky. From there I reversed the direction of my straight piece of masking paper and covered up the blue I just applied.  I ink blended some brown to emulate the sand. Peel off all your masking paper and reveal the magic scene and ares to Copic color. From here you Copic color your images and that's it, you are done.

Here is the full card again.  Isn't a simple one layer card all you need sometimes? I am so please with how this turned out.  You know you can save your cut out masked images to reuse another time, right?

Happy Wednesday everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by please come back again soon and see what we all have been up to.

retired by Diane Zechman

Hello Ai friends and happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing a card using the Michael's exclusive set called His & Hers Campers, which is now also available on the Ai site!  This card was made for one of my husband's previous co-workers who recently retired. With all of the freeeeezing temps we've had lately, I'm sure he is looking forward to spending time at his camper by the lake this summer!

Since I needed a masculine card, I pulled out some plaid papers and kept it clean & simple...no frills!  I stamped the little camper and a sentiment on the inside.

Have a great day and… happy stamping!

It's 5 O'Clock...Somewhere!! by ReneƩ Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

This is such a sad time of year for me...summer's winding down...school's about to start again.  That means it's back to work and less crafting time.  I'm going out with a very summery card though.  My friend requested a Margaritaville themed 60th birthday card for a friend. I wound up making two versions.  One for her and one for a retirement card I needed.  Sad to see summer go.

But...fortunately there's something VERY exciting to perk me up a bit!  Guess what??  Art Impressions will be releasing the Hobby Lobby & Michaels exclusive clear sets on the Ai website on Thursday!  Many of us don't have those stores near us so it will be wonderful to have these sets available on the Ai site. That means very soon you'll be able to get all these sets HERE.

For my first card, on the front I used...

SC0651 Ai His & Hers Campers

Doesn't he look like he's enjoying life?!

Now that's my kind of clock!  I printed the clock, parrots and Margaritaville on my computer.

On the inside I used...

When you're in Margaritaville you need, well, a margarita of course.  I printed one out and stuck it in his hand.  I think he's happier this way.

For my second card I did something very similar but with a different theme.  This one's a retirement card.  I used the same image from the Campers set but I added some of the verses from the set as well.

He looks like a very happy camper to me.

Home is where you park it!  I see he's parked it under a palm tree.  Good move.
