Birthday Man card by Dori Mendiola

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

I thought I'd share a card that I made for my husband for his birthday.  The image from the #5421 Sit Back Laugh Lines was just perfect for him.  Remote control and all.  😁  This guy is just so cute and funny!

I stamped the image on copic friendly paper with memento black ink and colored with my copic markers listed below.  I decided to use the pattern paper from the #5606 Harvest Journal PP to paper piece the recliner.  Love the plaid!  I layered pattern pieces with a white strip for the floor board and die cut with the #5062 Rounded Rectangle A2 Double Stitched dies.  I then used the #5724 Nested Rectangle die to cut a center rectangle, creating a frame, to inset the image.  I popped up the "frame" with foam tape.  I also added the wall clock from the #5323 MB Wall Accessories.

This was a simple card but I hope it inspires you to create masculine cards.

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a wonderful day!

Get Well mini frame card by Dori Mendiola

 Happy Thursday AI Friends!

Have you seen the latest release at Art Impressions?  Fairies, Castles, papers and dies, oh my!  So much was released last week!  Make sure to check it out on the website.

I am a huge fan of dies so I decided to highlight the #5902 Mini Scalloped Frame die set that was released.  This set, plus the #5901 Mini Rectangle Frame die set, are must haves.  These make creating mini cards/frames so fun and are SO cute!

I created a mini get well tunnel card using the #5499 Get Well Matchbook stamp set.  This card measures approx. 3 1/2" by 2 1/2" and props up to sit on your desk, countertop, windowsill, etc. by the use of the easel that comes with the #5902 Mini Scalloped Frame die set.

To make the tunnel card, I cut the scallop frame out of heavy cardstock using the Mini Scallop Frame die and the largest oval from the same set.  Fold the frame at the score lines and glue the tab to the off-setting side to create the frame.   To create the middle layer of the tunnel frame, I cut a single piece (approx. 3 1/4" x 2 1/4") of heavy cardstock with the middle size oval.  The outside pattern paper, as well as the background pattern paper, are from the #5892 Easter S2 paper pack.  I used the largest oval die to cut the outside pattern paper and adhered it to the outside frame.   Adhere the background pattern piece (approx. 3 1/4" by 2 1/4") to the back of the frame.  Place a strip of glue down one side of the middle layer and adhere to the frame.  Now you are ready to decorate the frame/card.

I stamped the images on copic friendly paper and colored with my copic markers (listed below).  I then die cut each of the images out with the coordinating dies from the matchbook stamp set.  I cut off the tabs from each of the images so that I could layer them within the tunnel card.   Create your scene on each layer as you wish.

What a fun card to receive, if you know someone who is feeling under the weather!

Make sure to visit the website and check out the new releases.
Have a great day and enjoy creating!

You Glow Girl by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!

So do you love the Art Impressions Matchbook Sets? They are so cute and so tiny!! I just really love how you can tuck them into a lunch pail or a jacket pocket!! For my post today, I used 5498 MB Salon Set to create this adorable little card. How perfect to treat your stylist or to accompany a cute gift card to someone's favorite salon! I stamped the images onto alcohol ink friendly paper and colored them with Copic markers which are listed below. I also added the clock and lamp sconces from 5323 Matchbook Wall Accessories. I used some digital salon paper to create the wallpaper for the shop and the envelope. I also cut out some cute accessories using glitter paper and the adorable 5334 Salon Mini Die set.

I added some clear Nuvo Crystal Drops to the front of the mirror. Unfortunately it dried making it look like the mirror was cracked. Sure hope I don't get seven years of bad luck! LOL! Look at that adorable bobby pin!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today and until next time - stay crafty!!

MB School Thank You for the Elks by Reneé

 Hello Ai fans!

Have you heard of the organization called The Elks?

My husband is a member (therefore I'm a member through marriage) and they
are a WONDERFUL organization. My local lodge runs food drives, delivers gifts at Christmas
to families in need, sends oversees troops care packages and so much more. When I was in just
before Christmas they asked if my school needed any books. Well, the answer to that question is
always YES!

They asked me for a wish list. I went back to our reading specialist and she gave me her dream
wish list thinking she'd be grateful to get even a little of it.  They didn't have the funds at that
moment but said as soon as they did, they'd let us know.  Well, guess what? When the funds
came in they had more to share than they thought they would and offered to buy us TWO of every
book on the list. Now we can spread the books out to more classrooms or give two of the same books to the same class for kids who like to buddy read.  We were stunned and so grateful to them.

I made them a card using a bunch of Art Impressions products.

I'm planning to take it to school and have a students sign it, then get a photo of them
with the books to send to the Elks for their bulletin board.

The card is very large, 5.5"x 8" so that lots of students can sign it. Since I wanted a very large, sturdy card, I used the Canson XL Watercolor paper. I went heavy
on the red and blue since those are our school colors.

Matchbooks and Masculine cards! by Reneé Matarese

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing several cards and a bookmark.

Two of my cards are from the Matchbook series.

Both cards used the 5317 – MB Template Dies and 5318 – MB Envelope Dies

My first Matchbook was created using 5498 – MB Salon.

Unless you're bald,  you almost definitely have a hair dresser/barber.  How cute is this card as a little thank you for keeping you looking amazing?!

Due to some medical issues I haven't needed my hair dresser in over a year and a half but when I go back and she makes me beautiful, she'll definitely be getting a card like this!

These tiny little scenes are such a treasure!

My second MB used the 5499 – MB Get Well.  I love the little white board that you can personalize any way you'd like.

The Matchbook folds up and fits neatly in a tiny little envelope.

These are perfect for someone's desk or bedside table.
Whether you have a sick friend or need to thank a doctor or nurse this set is perfect!
Swap out the Get Well for Thank You.

I have a former co-worker who is having some health issues so I made this card and took it to work for everyone to sign. For this card I used the same MB but I did it on a traditional card.  It's mounted on 5061 – Square Double Stitched Dies.

The verse is stamped on 5132 – Tag Stitched Dies and the heart is from 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.

My bookmark was cut using 5223 – Bookmark Dies.
The main images are from 5322 – MB Den Set.

The frame around the verse and the star are from 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.
The little tags are from 5132 – Tag Stitched Dies and the clock is from 5323 – MB Wall Accessories.

I hope you've enjoyed my projects for today and that you find some time to be crafty.  Most of my projects were made with the current Let's Hear it for the Boys challenge here on the blog.  Be sure to enter for your chance to win a free stamp set!

You Glow Girl by Janet

I am obsessed lately with the Matchbook card line! This time I used the 5498 Matchbook Salon set. As always the 5317 MB Templates Dies was used to create this card. It's required but it works for all the sets in the line. I also added a wall clock from the 5323 MB Wall Accessories set. Every salon runs by the clock so I felt that was a must for this card!

My coloring is admittedly not as good as is normal. I tried a no line coloring technique using markers and pencils. It's more organic in appearance. It was a good challenge and I know my next attempt will improve as is always the case when you try new things. Hopefully this inspires you to go out of your comfort zone if you've been thinking about trying something new. Growth doesn't need to be perfect!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you check out the entire Matchbook line. They're as much fun to make as they are to give!

Wishing you a very crafty day!

Get Well Soon Matchbook by Reneé Matarese

 Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing two Matchbook cards with you.

I used the 5499 – MB Get Well set along with the 5323 – MB Wall Accessories for the clock.

In order to make these adorable little scenes you need to start with
the 5317 – MB Template Dies.

Here's my second card.
The entire Matchbook Series can be found HERE.

Though not necessary to make the card, you'll probably also want the 5318 – MB Envelope Dies since you'll want the perfect envelope to put your little matchbook in.

These measure approximately 2" x 2" when folded up.
Too cute!!

Get Well Matchbook Card by Janet Axtman

Hello Ai fans! Today I am excited to show off my first Matchbook card using one the newest releases in the line. This is the #5499 MB Get Well set. It's so super cute as a get well card and it comes with 4 possible sentiments that can be used which is an expansion from previous sets. It's great having even more options.

I made this by stamping on watercolor paper and using my Tombow Dual Tip Brush Markers to watercolor the images before cutting and placing them in the matchbook card base which I cut with #5317 MB Template Die. Remember that you only need to buy this die once because it works with all the matchbox sets. I also added the clock from the #5323 - MB Wall Accessories Set. I made the perfect envelope for this little masterpiece using the optional #5318 - MB Envelope Dies. Not only does it create the envelope but there are a few additional dies that can be used to decorate the envelope. I cut a tiny little bow to put on the envelope flap.

Tombow Markers Used:
Purples: 620, 553, 636
Grays & Black: N89, N95, N60, N25
Misc. Colors: 761, 062, 992

Thanks so much for stopping by today. The whole Matchbook Line is so fun and unique. I hope you'll visit the store and check out the large selection of rooms and themes.

Wishing you a very crafty weekend!

Screen Door with Mini Dies by Reneé Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

This card popped into my head at the end of summer.  My husband and I needed to replace the screen on our sliding glass door.  We had a bear in our yard and our dog smelled it.  He leapt through the screen and took off. He was fine...the bear was gone in no time and we have an invisible fence that keeps our dog in our yard.  The screen didn't fare as well.

After cutting and installing our screen door we had left over screen.  I simply couldn't throw it out.  I wasn't sure why yet but then this card popped into my head. If I could co-install a real life door why couldn't I create one with cardboard and paper?  On the front I used two dies...the cat is from 5333 – Cats Mini Dies and the watering can is from 5336 – Garden Mini Dies.

When you open the door you see the kitchen counter and cabinet. On the counter and on the wall I used all of the dies from 5335 – Kitchen Mini Dies and I used the mirror to create my "stainless steal" pan from the 5334 – Salon Mini Dies.

The clock is from the new 5323 – MB Wall Accessories from the Matchbook series Bonnie just released.

When you open up the cabinet doors you can see the verse which is from Art Impressions - Clear Photopolymer Stamp Set - Daisies which is a Scrapbook.com Ai exclusive.

My screen door is very plain and boring.  Maybe someday I'll have a prettier, rustic one like this. One can hope!  Happy crafting!
