Oh My We're All Tangled Up!

Hello Ai Fans!
Happy Friday! Today's post is using the super cute Mr & Mrs Claus stamp image called "Twinkle In A Tangle" (#4665). I made a cute candle and matching card which will make a nice gift for that someone special!
I used paper from the Photo Play Dear Santa 6x6 collection. I added a red doily behind the popped up image which makes their outfits pop! A bit of twine, Stickles on the lights and a gem embellishment finish off my card!
The candle was actually easier to make than I thought! Stamp your image on a piece of tissue paper, and colour as usual. I did find that you couldn't really add your different markers for shadows etc, and you needed to make your colours a bit darker than usual as when applied the colours aren't as bright. After you have finished colouring cut out fairly close to your image. Lay your image on the candle and put a piece of wax paper on top. Using your heat gun heat the image. You will see the tissue paper disappear as it heats. Peel back the wax paper and voila your done! Easy peasy!! I did 2 images like this and put one on each side of the candle.
I used the Art Impressions sentiment called "The Season" (#4167).
 Copics Used:
Skin: E51, E11, E33, R20
Hair: C1, C3, C5
Reds: R24, R27, R29

** for the candle I used the midtones of each category

It's a new release, which means a new challenge! Karen is here to show us what's she's been up to! Take it away, Karen!

Hello Ai fans!  I'm pretty excited, because with the launch of the Ai Christmas stamps - it is officially Holiday Card Season here on the Ai blog!!
Today I'm sharing what I'm calling an "Opening Easel Card" - using Ai's brand new Square Easel Die (Sku #4699), and Twinkle in Tangle (Sku #4665).  Here is a photo of it, tied shut:
I started by cutting two easel die pieces in blue cardstock with my Cuttlebug.  Then using washi tape to hold together two circle dies, I cut out a circular blue frame:
I added some patterned paper to the front of one easel piece, die cut a hole through all the layers and added my frame:
Now for the part that's hard to photograph... when I glued my easel card together, I did not glue down the front easel piece that has the circle opening, so that it will open and close just like a regular card:
I glued my matted image to the inside of the card, centering it under the circle opening:
Here's a closeup of the snuggly couple:
And finally a back view, which possibly shows it the best.  You can see how I tucked in some organdy ribbon on both the front and back of the easel, so that after the recipient has opened and read my card, they can tie it back up and put it on display.
Happy Stamping!
