A Magical Day by Janet

Happy weekend everyone! I have to gleefully confess that I had the best time working with the new 5935-Fairytale Houses Set! It's such a great set of images and dies to work with. It comes complete with stamped images and dies, including grasses which make it easy to create a scene.

I stamped the images and colored them with Copic markers. I used white and black fine tipped pens to add some accents. I also used black Nuvo drops for extra sheen and dimension on the mushrooms.

This is a mini-slimline card which is 3 1/2" x 6 when finished. It's a perfect size for these images. After cutting out the colored images with the included dies, I arranged them on a 3" x 5 1/2" size of light blue cardstock. I matted this on a 3 1/4" x 5 3/4" navy cardstock mat and glued this on to the card base. I added the sentiment directly on the background as a finishing touch. It makes such a cheerful and fanciful scene! I knew it would be cute but this really surpassed my expectations. The set is designed for watercolor but I think you would agree that this is quite enchanting colored with markers as well. Colored pencils would also be delightful for these fanciful images.

This card also fits the current challenge on the Ai blog which is Magical Creatures. The adorable little bee and the magical beings you would imagine would inhabit these cute little homes is perfect for the theme. I encourage you to enter your card creation to the challenge. Each entry is a chance to win free stamp sets of your choosing. You can find the entry form and details here: Magical Creatures Challenge

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope my card gives you some ideas of your own. Please visit the store to see all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Be sure to take a look at all the new releases while you are there. Have a great weekend!

It's Par-Tee Time Mini Slimline Card by Tasha!

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Today I'm sharing a mini slimline card created with the  4902 - Par-Tee Golfers Set! This set includes two character stamps, a variety of sentiments, and fun golf accessories to customize your design. My card features the male golfer zipping around with his golf cart to the next hole.

I stamped the image with black ink and colored him with Copic Markers. I used Distress Oxide Ink and a puffy cloud stencil to make the sky and drew in the grass. I love his golf clothing and had fun coloring his outfit; I love these socks!!!
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment "I can drive 300 yards...IN MY GOLF CART!" with gray ink. I also added layers of blue cardstock and black pattern paper before attaching it to a white mini slimline card base.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July weekend!

Your Secret's Safe With Me! by Janet Axtman

Hello friends! It's Saturday already and time for me to share my weekly project. Today I made a mini slimline card featuring the new #5517 Sassy Laugh Lines stamp set. This lady is a adorable and there are so many sentiments included that can tell her story for you. I chose this one because recently a new friend trusted me with a secret. It's kind of a big deal when someone trusts you to keep something to yourself so I celebrated it by making this card.

I colored her with Copic markers (list of colors used is at the end of this post). I decided to make her jacket a faux leopard print using black squiggles. I had a leftover piece of an iridescent panel I had made months ago so I used it as a background for the lady. I pulled out #5223 Bookmark Dies to cut the long flag and hole. It also has a feather die so I cut one out of pink and black glitter cardstock. The Sassy stamp set doesn't have a coordinating die so I used my Brother ScanNCut to cut the lady and the sentiment out. You can easily fussy cut this image also.

I finished the card by mounting the panel on a pink mat and I added a few pink glass bubbles. Then I glued the panel on a black mini slimline card base. Voila!

Copic Colors:
RV17, RV55, RV20
C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9
E00. E0, E11, E21

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you consider adding Sassy to your stash. She's so much fun to make cards with.

Wishing you a very crafty weekend!

Easter Chick Slimline Card by Tasha

Happy Friday Ai Fans!
Tasha here sharing an Easter card inspired by the Art Impressions Here Comes Peter Cottontail Challenge!

My card was created with the Hoppy Easter Stamp Set and the sweet little chick was colored with Copic Markers. I used a white gel pen to add a pattern to the egg to give an Easter egg look!

I used a cloud stencil and Distress Oxide Ink for the sky and a grass stencil for the ground. I also used green markers to add more detail to the grass and create a shadow under the little chick.

The greeting "Hoppy Easter!" was stamped with a light blue ink and I used green Distress Oxide Ink around the edges to bring in more color. I also added glitter paper around the sentiment and slimline card for extra sparkle!

Lastly, I added polka-dot pattern paper and little blue pearls to the sky to complete the happy card!

Thank you for checking out today's card and I hope you will join in the Ai Here Comes Peter Cottontail Challenge!

Have a great day!

Time for Wine Card by Tasha!

Happy Friday Ai Fans!
Tasha here sharing a mini slimline card featuring the fun Ai 5404 - Miss Set!

This set set quickly became a favorite last year and I just love the variety of hats! To mix it up, I decided to use a wine-themed hat from the 5405-Mrs. Set. It's so awesome that the hats from these two stamp sets work with both characters. This allows you to get more creative and really customize your projects.

I wanted this card to pop, so I used a decorative stencil to give the background a cool look. Green and purple always look great together and these colors work well for a Wine-themed card! I also used two shades of green ink to give a glowing look to the background to spotlight the stylish lady.

The greeting "Wine a little Laugh a lot" was stamped on bright white cardstock and I used layers of green glitter paper and purple textured paper to bring in sparkle and color. This greeting is great for birthday's or a hello card anytime of the year.
Lastly, I added little white details to the clothing before attaching the card to a mini slimline card base.

Thank you for checking out today's project and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Halloween Cards by Tasha

Happy Friday Ai Friends!
Tasha here sharing two Halloween cards created with the super cute Happy Hauntings Stamp Set from Art Impressions! This set has quickly become my new favorite Halloween stamp set!

I started by stamping these cute critters with black ink and I covered the images with masking paper. I used Distress Oxide Ink to created the background. I wanted it to look like they were trick or treating in the woods on a fall night. I also added the grass border to make the card more interesting and frame the design.

The sentiment was embossed with white on black paper. I love the look of white embossing and it fits perfectly between the trees!

Lastly, I added orange glitter paper before attaching the card to a black card base. This orange glitter color is really pretty and you know I love sparkle!

Since I love this stamp set so much I made a second card to share today. I used the haunted house to make a little not-so-spooky Halloween slimline card!

This design used masking paper again to block off the house before ink blending the background. After I colored the sky, I used a star stencil and white Distress Oxide Ink to add stars. I love having bright stars on cards!

For the ground, I used a grass stencil and black ink to continue with the haunted house vibe. It's fun to think of new ways to use your stencils and try out different color combinations!

Lastly, I stamped a the greeting "Spooky Salutations" and attached several enamel dots. I also added polka dot pattern paper and orange card stock layers before attaching the card to a lime green card base to complete the project.

I hope you enjoyed today's cards and are inspired to create some Halloween projects with the fun Ai Happy Hauntings Stamp Set!

Merry & Bright Card by Tasha

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a holiday mini slimline created with the cute Penguin Stackers stamp set!

I stamped the penguins with black hybrid ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I wanted a winter wonderland feel and used pastel colors with pops of red and green! I also added glitter to the the little hats!

For the background I used a piece of pattern paper that looks like falling snow. To coordinate with the sky, I cut hills out of white cardstock and ink blended the edges with a light blue ink. These colors are so pretty!

The sentiment "Merry & Bright" is from the Sleigh Bells Set and I stamped it with a pretty teal blue. I used a circle punch to cut the greeting out and matted it with teal cardstock. To stick with the theme, I added a layer of mirrored silver paper and teal cardstock before attaching the card to a white card base.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed this fun holiday card!
