Watercolor Weekend 5-21-2022 and NEW Watercolor Releases!

 Hello Ai Watercolor fans!
It's another Watercolor Weekend!

It's always an exciting time when new releases come out.
Especially when they're as fun as these sets are!

We're kicking off our new release Watercolor Weekend with a gorgeous slimline card from Karen.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Ai Watercolour fans!

I've combined a couple of the newly released sets in my slimline project today.  I began by stamping one of the 5524 - WC Cape Cod Houses to the right of my scene using Tombow #565/969 onto some Canson XL Watercolour paper.  I used a pencil to sketch out where my horizon would be, and then placed the two shoreline stamps from 5523 - WC Bait Shop on either side, using the same markers.

I picked one of the medium sized images in the 5466 - WC Lighthouse Set and placed it on the shoreline behind the house, and added 5415 - WC Rocks Set to the foreground.  With my scene set, I started to add colour, picking it up off my palette.  A wash of #158 was added to all the grassy slopes, and shades of #992/969/N57/565 coloured in the shoreline and rocks, with deeper tones in all the crevices and shadowed areas.  I used #569 for the house, keeping the left side brighter, and the right more shadowed, and added #N57 to the roofs.  I created a weathered red shade by mixing #856/969 and added the red touches to the lighthouse, chimneys, door and boat.  I used a Navy Twintone marker to draw in the window panes and darken the lighthouse windows.  #593 was painted in the sky, leaving some white to suggest clouds, and it was painted in as the water as well.  I used the trees, grass and foliage from 5372 - WC Mini Foliage to add a few shrubs and trees.  I always finish up by adding more shadows to the buildings, rocks and lighthouse, as well as some darker shades to the clouds.  A last minute addition (after the card was assembled!) was to add the 5473 - WC Seagull Set image in #N57.  I cut out the image with the 5463 Slimline Dies, and used the two largest dies to cut a thin grey frame to adhere on top.  I glued it all down to a red card base.

Next up we have Dot.

Hello,
I love fishing and I love this brand new set 5523 Bait Shop from Art Impressions. The shore, the bait shop, and the boats are all included in this one set!

To make this, stamp each one using Tombow pens in 565 and 969 and then stamp them off once before stamping them on your watercolor paper. Pull the color out of the lines then color the shop in with 249, N35 and 969. Use a fine tip Tombow TwinTone pen in blue for the windows. Use 565 to add the shadows. The dock is a mix of N35 and 969. The boats are colored with 969, 249, 636 and 856. The water is colored with both 526 and 565 for the shadows. Stamp the bushes from the 5372 Mini Foliage Set inked in 177 along the back. Use 249 from the palette to color in the green areas and then stamp the grass from that same set inked in 177. Stamp the dog from the 5380 Silhouettes Set inked in 969. Stamp the trees from the 5372 Mini Foliage set inked in 969 then the leaves from that set inked in 636. The sky is 526. The sentiment is from the 5136 Sentiment Set 2 inked in 636. Cut it out with the 5063 Rectangle Dies.

Wrapping up our Watercolor Weekend is Tricia.

To start I inked the Country Village stamp with 969, stamped it off, and stamped it onto my watercolor paper.  Next, I inked the left and right trees from the Mini Foliage set with 969 and stamped it several times around the Village.  For the leaves, I inked the leaves stamp from the Mini Foliage set with 177.  I stamped it around all of the trees and between some of the houses.  For the bushes, I used the tree line from the Mini Foliage.

I pulled the color out of the lines on all of the houses, keeping the left side really dark.  I added water to the leaves and bushes. I added color from my palette to the houses and to some of the trees to get a darker value.  I used a mixture of 969 and 569 for the roofs.  I pulled some color out of the bushes to ground everything.  Lastly, I added some color to the sky.  I cut the project out with my stitched rectangle die and mounted it to a piece of Wild Dandelion card stock from Gina K Designs
