Hello Ai fans!
It's a Watercolor Weekend and we have some
wonderful cards to share with you today!
She's created a video showing her painting steps as they progress from start to finish so you can see her process, not just read about it. Let us know what you think!
Next up is Karen. She and Dot used the same set but achieved very different results.
Both are beautiful and it shows how many possibilities these sets have!
Hello Ai Watercolour fans!
I am happy to be breaking out one of the new Harvest Journal stamp sets today - here is 5593 - Harvest Scenes:
I coloured my scene with Tombows #969/565 and stamped it onto my Canson XL Watercolour Paper, then pulled out the colour with a damp brush. I added in the little mouse from 5599 - Mini Mice & Squirrel Set using my stamp positioner.
I wanted to fill my containers before I started painting, so I stamped two images from 5475 - WC Flower Set 6 several times in the milk jug, masking the chair/jug - using #565/177. In the wooden basket, I used the circular flower image from 4868 - WC Flower Set 2 in #993, and tucked in some greenery around them using the trailing greenery from 5126 - WC Foliage Set 4, in #158/098. Picking up colour from my palette, I added #407 to the chair, #977/969 to the basket, #743 to the milk jug and #N65 to both the mouse and watering can. For the green pumpkin, I added a base layer of #990 to make it a creamy colour, then used a dabbing motion to add #158 in mottled streaks. To the orange pumpkin, I started with #993, adding several layers, then #933 and #969 for some shading. Tones of several greens were added to the stems. The robins got red tummies of #743, and layers of #977 for their feathers. #565 was painted under the chair to add a shadow, and used to give shading in and around all of the images. I like to add a few reflection colours to metallic surfaces like the watering can, so dabbed on a little blue and red to pick up the shades from my scene.
I matted the image with some brown cardstock, then mounted it on some of the pretty papers in the 5606 - Harvest Journal Paper Pack. I used a sentiment from 5600 - Harvest Sentiments Set, and die cut it with one of the dies from the 5543 - Journal Template Die Set, and adhered it with 3D foam adhesive.
We'll wrap things up with Dot's card.
Hello,
Art Impressions has made some fabulous new Fall stamp sets and this one of my most favorite! There are two wonderful scenes in the new 5593 Harvest Scenes Set. So easy to color up and fill with whatever plants or flowers you want to use.
To make this one, stamp the scene inked with both 565 and 969 Tombow pens. Pull the color out of the lines. Another great set is the brand new 5599 Mini Mice and Squirrel set. I stamped a squirrel on the ground after inking him with the 969. I added the wheat from the brand new 5598 Harvest Set inked in 026 inside the watering can. I used the lavender from the 5476 Foliage Set 5 inside the bucket inked in both 158 and 565. I used the small grass from the 4051 Foliage Set 1 inked in 158 inside the pail and on the ground. I inked the flowers from the 5008 Flower Set 3 inked in 837 inside the pail. I stamped the pumpkin leaf and vine from the brand new 5595 Harvest Pumpkin Set inked in 158 on the outside pumpkin. Color the birds with the 026 and 969. Color the watering can, bands on the bucket and pail with N45. The chair is painted with N52. The orange pumpkin is colored with 933. The other pumpkin is colored with the 312. Use 969 on the squirrel, pail handle and on the wood of the bucket. Use 565 for shadows. Use N52 for the sky. The sentiment is from the brand new 5600 Harvest Sentiments Set inked in 969. I cut out the sentiment with the tag from the 5543 Journal Template Die Set. The curvy edge for my watercolor paper is cut with a die from that same set. The other dies are from the 5063 Rectangle Double Stitched Die set.
They never cease to amaze me.
