It's Fun Mowing the Lawn

That's what I think of when I see this happy Lawn Ranger. I used Copics to color him in.
I stamped him first, masked him with Eclipse masking tape and then stamped the fence.  I would say this fence is a must have. :o) I use it all the time (you'll see)!  It's goes great with all the Fronts & Back images. I'll share a scene next week with the fence and a Front & Back image and you'll see how easy and fun they work together!

To create the sky, I left the mask over him, added a miask for the fence, and then airbrushed B23 over a cloud template (Stampin' up!).  After I removed the masks, I drew in part of the fence by his legs.  For the grass, I filled in light horizontal strokes of green, and then used the brush tip to flick up  grade blades.  C5 made a nice shadow under his lawn mower.

I stamped a partial image inside.  He just has such a great smile! :o)

Copics:    multiliner 0.03, 0 , B91, B95, BV02, BV04, G40, G82, R21, Y11, Y15, YG00, YG05, C1, C3, C5, C7, E00, E02, E11, E17, E31, E35

Operation Write Home Blog Hop!

Operation Write Home is having a blog hop with a sketch. So since Art Impressions is teaming up with them I am combing my Monday morning Art Impressions card with OWH. I have used Little Whoot on my card today and have made it Patriotic in honor of Memorial Day and our Heroes. Since I have a little hereo of my own it makes this day even more special. I have decided to also make it a thank you for the heroes by using one of the sentiments from the Beanie Whoot set. I already had this patriotic paper. I followed along with the sketch but it wasnt until after I was all done of course that I noticed whoever made the sketch was nice enough to add the dimensions for all the layers. But oh well mine is just a little bigger.
Thank you to all our heroes!

This Sunday I have made a card using two beautiful Art Impressions stamps.
I used Potted flowers (Sku#e1509) and Thinking of You (Sku#E921).
I thought this image went well with a vintage style.  Very feminine, perfect
to send to a mother, sister or friend just to let them know they're in your thoughts.

I used Copic markers to color the flowers and pot
and some 3-D pearl paint for the centers and along
the right edge.  I put Stickles on some of the swirls.

This was my first attempt at making a Rosette flower
and I like how it turned out.

Here's the inside.

Supply list:
Frames& circles are from Spellbinders
Embossing folder is by Sizzix
Rosette and inside border made with Martha Stewart punch
3-D paints
various roses, buttons and pearls

Don't forget the new AI PEOPLE are now available!!
What fun new images and verses!

OWH Blog Hop

How’s Hoppin’? Welcome to the Art Impressions page! We’re glad you could join us!  We participated in OWH’s last blog hop and are excited to join once again.

Yesterday, one of our employees heard word of a friend who died in Afghanistan on Thursday. He was 23 and coming home in three weeks to be married to his beautiful bride. On this Memorial weekend, we ask that you pray for his family and fiancƩ. May they have peace and comfort during this tragic time.

We are very passionate about our support for those who are serving for us. It's our family, our friends, that are laying their life on the line. We appreciate this wonderful organization that brings troops and their families a little closer together, although they might be worlds apart.
Ok, let’s get started with the goodies! With any $30 purchase this weekend at ArtImpressions.com, you will receive our  “Nap for That” text FREE. For more details, check out our post below from Friday, May 25.
This tutorial is from one of our fabulous DTs: Hi, this is Maria with a quick and easy way to make a pop-up inside your card. This is a great way to add a little fun inside your card. I used OWH Sketch #21 with the new Art Impressions Lazy Boy Stamp. The outside of the card is a traditional A2 card following the sketch guidelines. For the pop-up addition, the steps and instructions are on the pictures below. **Just a note: the pop-up attachment can be anything that is flat. In my case I cut a sentiment from a die cut machine.
Thank you for stopping by! For more free stuff from Ai, check out our challenge blog on Thursdays! This week is Anything Medical, you can check it out above on the "Current Challenge" link.

Happy Stamping!

A Day at the Beach

Last Tuesday they were sipping coffee at the cafe; this week they are sipping cocktails on the beach!  Girlfriends are on the move! These lovely, leisure ladies are from a set of four, you can also get the image individually.

I colored the girls with Copics Markers and fussy cut them out.  At this point I was not sure how much I wanted to cut away from the main image so I cut out around the whole thing.  Remember, you can always cut more.   Now, I have to admit... I have cut off a limb or two, and adhered them back together. Not very pretty. :o)

I stamped the girls on the background for placement and drew a pencil horizon line.

I masked the bottom and airbrushed B23 for the sky, using a cloud template (made with a scallop punch). I next masked the top and airbrushed E31 for the sand.  I made several little random dots.

I colored directly onto the wc three palms image with water based markers and stamped onto the background.  Since the placement image was stamped there, I can see where the trees would come up  behind them.  Next, I used a craft knife and mat to cut out all the pieces of my colored image I didn't want. TIP:  Don't try to fussy cut the thin lines. Cut out out the larger parts of the image. You can use the placement images lines.

Only thing left was to adhere all the layers.  I used a liquid glue to adhere the girls  because it allows for more drying time - I can lightly shimmy the piece into place before pressing down. Plus, you can get the liquid glue in the little bitty places. :o)   I added the full palm image inside. I think it adds a special touch when you carry the outside into the inside.

Please come back each day for more inspiration from my DT Girlfriends right here!!

Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
