Day Spent by Carol Hintermeier

Hello Ai Fans!

My card today features the so sweet Day Spent Window set.  This is such a quick and easy stamp to use, so I made two cards!  One card is a simple easel style and the other has a die cut window in the card front to show the image that's adhered to the inside.  The sentiment on this stamp is perfect to use to send to a friend:  "A day spent with a friend is a day well spent indeed."

Have you noticed how so many of the stamps that are in the watercolor line also work with traditional cards?  The WC Sentiments Set was used for both of these cards.  I thought that the sentiments went perfectly with the sentiment that is around the scene.

For this card I used one of the Square Double Stitched dies to cut a window in the card front.  I used the same size die to cut the yellow paper to layer behind the stamped image.  I colored both images with Copic markers listed below.

This next card is a simple easel card.  I used an A2 card base that I added a second score line to at 2-¾" to create the easel.

The main thing to remember is to add adhesive only to the bottom portion of the square so that the image will pop up with the card open.

I used one of the Flag Double Stitched dies to make the piece for the inside of the card that will help the easel to stand open.  I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to both cards for a bit of embellishment.

Thank you very much for stopping by today!  I hope your week is filled with a lot of crafty fun!

Fur-Ever Friends by Renee Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a card that could be used for several different occasions.  I think I may send it to the woman who runs the rescue that we adopted our dogs through as a thank you for all the work she does.  It would also make a cute birthday card or just a thinking of you for a friend!

The image and verse are called Fur-Ever Set #4220.

Operation Write Home Hats Set

Hello Ai Fans!

Yesterday we jump-started our Operation Write Home blog hop!!
Today I'm sharing a second card with an OWH set.
One thing to keep in mind (that I forgot...)
These cards need to be very thin and an A2 size.
My card is NOT ACCEPTABLE for OWH.  I'll just use this one for something else and make a smaller duplicate to send to OWH.  Don't make the same mistake I did!  View the guidelines HERE.

For my card I used OWH Every Hat set.

Thinking of You Iris

Every once in a while someone you know just needs a little pick-me-up right? I thought that this beautiful Giant Iris and Thinking of You verse from Art Impressions were perfect for that.

If you look closely you can see that the frame and Iris are popped up on dimensional foam.  I love that you're able to give handmade cards a 3-D look that store bought cards just don't offer.

Tools and accessories:
Spellbinders: frame, label and border dies
Copic markers
wired ribbon
flat back pearls
pigment ink for distressing the paper edges

This Sunday I have made a card using two beautiful Art Impressions stamps.
I used Potted flowers (Sku#e1509) and Thinking of You (Sku#E921).
I thought this image went well with a vintage style.  Very feminine, perfect
to send to a mother, sister or friend just to let them know they're in your thoughts.

I used Copic markers to color the flowers and pot
and some 3-D pearl paint for the centers and along
the right edge.  I put Stickles on some of the swirls.

This was my first attempt at making a Rosette flower
and I like how it turned out.

Here's the inside.

Supply list:
Frames& circles are from Spellbinders
Embossing folder is by Sizzix
Rosette and inside border made with Martha Stewart punch
3-D paints
various roses, buttons and pearls

Don't forget the new AI PEOPLE are now available!!
What fun new images and verses!

Here are the guidelines provided by OWH:
1. No Glitter - It is a safety hazard for our heroes. Read more.
2. A2 Sized Cards Only - 4.25" x 5.5" for easier shipping. Read more.
3. Line Dark Cards with Light Cardstock - If a pencil won't show up, add a lighter sheet inside. Read more.
4. Limit Multiples - No more than 100 cards. Read more
5. Any Quantity is okay - One, a bunch, or a box full; however we need quality, not quantity. Read more.
6. SOME lumpiness is okay - Our heroes don't have to pay for letter mail, but that doesn't mean we can go wild with layering and embellishments.
7. DO NOT hand write sentiments - Neither outside or inside. Read more.
8. Use quality supplies - Computer paper, foams, itty bitty stickers and glue sticks don't holdup to the rigors of the battlefront. It's okay to make fewer cards with better supplies - every card counts!
9. Card Themes - Remember who's sending these: adults. No cards to Daddy, no "wish you were here," or party invitations; no explicit images or sentiments.
10. Absolutely no store-bought - Neither complete cards, NOR cards repurposing parts of them. It endangers our trademark. Read more.

Here are the Ai weekly challenge guidelines:
1.  Please make a new card or creation for these challenges. You can make a 3D item if you wish ... this is not limited to cards!
2. Limit two submissions per person. You will be entered twice if you use Art Impressions stamps!
3.  Please link directly to your creation so we can get a good look at your creativity!
4. You will have until SUNDAY at 6 p.m. PST to enter your creations.

Also, "Like" us on Facebook this weekend for a free stamp with purchase! It'll be a "Whoot!"

We truly appreciate your participation! Happy Stamping!
