Antiques Window by Niccole

Hello, Ai fans!!

I am stopping by today to share a card I made using the Antiques Window stamp set from Art Impressions.  

I started by adding my green striped paper to my white card base.  I added the white piece that I stamped with my Antiques Window and colored with my Faber-Castell Polychromos.  

This card came together rather quickly but I love the outcome.  I love how the truck is definitely the focal point.  Just changing the color of the truck could change the whole feel of the card.

I finished it off with some clear droplets.  I wanted the stamp to be the main focus of this card.  As the stamp says  “The most valuable antiques are our oldest & dearest friends…Priceless.” How can you say much more?

Here is one more look at the finished card.  I love how it is so masculine and simple but yet says so much!

Happy 70th Birthday! by Reneé Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing the card that I made for my step-dad's 70th birthday.

I used M4587 – Antiques Window from Art Impressions.  This image is from the Windows to the World line.  I just love this line so much and am building up quite a collection of them.  You can use them like I have here or put them on the inside of your card and cut out a window on the front so you can see inside. Both ways are great.  You can see an example of one I made where you look through a window HERE.

He really loved my card but called me out on the truck type.  He's retired now but used to own a Ford dealership.  Turns out I guess this truck is a Chevy.  He says you can tell from the grill.  Oh well, I fed him a nice meal and he forgot all about the truck being wrong...lol!

Today I'm sharing one of Art Impressions Windows to the World.

This one's called Antiques Window.

You get a sneak peak of the old truck through the 4619 – Window Die.

I have a husband, 5 Brothers-in-law, a Father-in-law and a step-dad so I always like to have masculine cards on hand.  I've used this image before and I really love it.

I've done the truck in red, brown and this rust color and I think this one is my favorite.  I made the sky kind of dark and stormy.  How else did the truck get so rusty if it wasn't sitting out in the rain?

Antiques Window by Karen Day

Hello Ai fans!

I am a big fan of stitching with my sewing machine on my cards & projects, and recently started experimenting with this metallic gold thread from Gutermann.  I was doubtful that it would stand up well, because it is such a delicate filament, but it works beautifully!  I used it to glam up this week's card using Antiques Window (Sku #4587):

 Even though this is a masculine card, I don't find the gold thread to be over the top - it just adds a bit of glimmer.  I made a frame with a double row of wonky stitching and popped it up with pop dots.  I did a little zigzag stitch on the heart, and popped both it and the main image up as well.  The Antiques Window is one of the Windows To The World stamps - they're quick to colour and have wonderful sayings written around them.  *This would be a great Father's Day card... you can find all the WTTW stamps here.  Happy stamping!

Today I'm sharing two Windows to the World cards with you.  These are so much fun because you get a little glimpse of the inside through the window.  Art Impressions recently added a wonderful Window Die (Sku#4619) to their inventory.

Antiques Window (Sku#M4587)

This is such a wonderful image for a guy.  I love that you can change the season too by coloring the leaves and grass different colors.  You could even change the time of day by adding a sunset instead of a blue sky.

I used the verse from the  Snowman Note-Able (Sku#4511) set.

For my window frames and sills I cut 4 thin strips of cardstock. (just plain white)  I used two different Ranger Distress Crackle Paints on them.  I painted each strip with the crackle paint and gave them sufficient time to dry.  I then cut the corner angles to make it look like the edges were mitered. (I hope that's the right term)  The grayish one is Weathered Wood and the green one is called Shabby Shutters.  I popped them up on some thin dimensional foam to make it look a little bit raised from the walls.

Hello Ai challenge fans!!  When I heard that we were making card sets for this week's challenge, I immediately thought of the Windows to the World collection of Art Impressions stamps, and came up with the idea of doing one for each season - so here are winter, spring, summer & fall:

Whenever I make a set of cards as a gift, I like to make a little coordinating holder, so I made this fun little file folder that holds all four cards & their envelopes:

 I started with a  10 1/2" x 6"piece of kraft cardstock, scoring it 4 1/2" in from each side; and I cut a curvy shape off each upper corner.  The base piece is 7" x 2 1/2", scored 2" up from the bottom, with 1/2" flaps scored to fold and glue it together:

 Here it is decorated and ready to assemble (oh, and the best part is that all it takes is one piece of  8 1/2 x 11" cardstock and some scraps to decorate it:
