Sally Swimmer by Reneé Matarese

Hello Ai Fans!

Since I've pretty much made nothing but Christmas cards lately I was in the mood to do something completely opposite.  I hadn't yet used this adorable Ai People image called Sally Swimmer Set (Sku#4323) so I thought I'd put her to use.

Winter's not even 1/2 over here in upstate NY and I was in need of something bright and cheery today.  Not that I mind the winter.  My family and I took a nice winter walk in our woods yesterday with the 2 dogs.

This is my handsome 15 yr. old son Dominick and our dogs Boomer and Hannah from our walk yesterday.

Happy Black Friday!

Hello Ai friends, and happy "Black Friday". I've only gone shopping once in my life on "the day after Thanksgiving", and let's just say once was enough for me! I'd rather be at home stamping! So without further delay... onto today's creation! I LOVE making Christmas cards! And I absolutely LOVE this super cute Art Impressions stamp of "Decorating Penguins", SKU# T3055. This image just makes me smile. Who doesn't love penguins? And this image was so much fun to color in with alcohol markers. I thought I would give Cryogen Metallic cardstock a try. And let me tell you, I LOVE this paper is all I can say! It is great for alcohol markers, as I used a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. It is really pretty because there are little metallic flecks in the paper. You can see them in my close up shot.

If you click on the photo you will get a larger view. Cryogen is super smooth for alcohol marker coloring, and the colors blend together like a dream.
I made the base of the card with kraft cardstock. Then used a layer of Real Red cardstock from Stampin Up! Its a really nice bright red for Christmas. Next I chose a really cute Cosmo Cricket 6"x6" Christmas designer paper pad that I purchased last year that I still LOVE. I used three coordinating papers and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink, then sewed them onto the kraft base. I wanted to add some texture to my card, so I embossed a piece of red cardstock with "Petals A Plenty" embossing folder from Stampin Up. For embellishments I added some clear crystals from Hero Arts, and a snowflake I die cut. I didn't have a lilac crystal, so I used a lilac colored copic marker and custom colored it.

I stamped the inside with a BRAND new Ai Christmas sentiment stamp, SKU# G4169. Love that sweet and simple sentiment. I added a few snowflakes (very old Hero Arts stamp) in blue dye ink.  I hope you enjoyed this fun Christmas card creation. Thank you for stopping by the Art Impressions blog today! Happy Stamping!

Art Impressions Mouthfuls...FUN TO PLAY WITH!

These are some of my FAVORITE stamp sets from ART IMPRESSIONS!!! They are so fun to play with and I really and glad that they are back! I made this card by sponging the background with a cloud template. Then I cuttlebugged the "deck" that the kitty is sitting at. Next, I colored the kitty with copic markers and sponged some calico colors for some variation. I colored and cut out the fish, the sign, the hat and the basket and I arranged them to give the kitty some personality (even more than he already had!) and here is my creation!!! So fun and simple and I think this would be a fun card for that fisherman or woman in your life! Thanks for popping in and be ready to start some fun challenges with us soon! There will be a monthly prize for playing along!
