Girlfriends X 3 = FUN!!!

Work Out, Weight Watchers and Dancers

I have 3 new images to post today.  The first one is "Work Out" by Art Impressions UM3584:

The second image is "Out to Lunch" Art Impressions UM2576:

The stamps used here are unmounted on cushion.  When I placed the words on the
acrylic block I curved them up to fit below the table.

And the last image is "Dancers" Art Impressions UM3580:

I used the Clear Spica pen on the glasses and tutu skirts.  Also I added the tiny
lines to accentuate the movement of the dancers.
I hope you enjoy this posting and if you have any questions about
the Copic markers I used or any thing else, please ask.
I would love to know who looks at my posts and
what you think of them.
Have a GREAT day!

Nighttime Skyline

I've wanted to use these two stamps, the skyline and the bridge, for a long time.

This first design, I had pictured in my minds eye and it came together just as I pictured it. I used dimensional foam to pop these skylines out.

Stamps used: NJ Bridge K3105, Skyline  P2975, Imagine F2559
Ink: India Ink
Cardstock: Petallics Silver. (This is actually a cream color, not silver) Black CS, White CS and Gray Blue speckled CS

After I made the first card, a friend reminded me of another technique that she dearly loves, on a piece that hangs in my studio. So I decided to try to design another card using this technique, gold leafing.
I used the same skyline stamp and used a glue pad. I inked(glued) up my stamp, stamped the image onto black CS  and them gently patted the gold leaf over the glue image. I patted it a few times and then very gently brushed away the excess gold leaf. I added a small moon and attached the black CS panel onto a cream card. Gold ribbon added to the side and the bottom, finished this off. Wouldn't this would make a great New Years Eve party invitation.

Glue Pad - Hampton Art
Cardstock: Petallics Silver (the moon) Black CS, Cream CS
Other: Gold ribbon

So here are 2 great looks from this stamp.
Thanks for stopping by.

Water color Barn

Water Color Barn

It was learning how to water color using Art Impression stamps that took my card making to a new level.  I discovered that I could use these stamps to create not just cards but small pieces that looked like art….and so easily. I love using the individual stamps to create multiple scenes.  We all need value for our purchases.

If you have not tried this technique I encourage you to do so.  The stamps are now available in sets and Bonnie has produced a DVD that works with each of the 3 sets allowing you to create so many different scenes….and that is just the beginning. If you have watched her water color on Utube you know how easy she makes it to follow step by step.

Whether you purchase the DVD or not I would advise you to buy the water color pamphlets that are available.  There you will find easy step by step instruction giving you everything you need to know to make your own scenes.

So what are you waiting for….…
I appreciate any comments or questions. Happy Stamping!
Mary

Art Impressions: Christmas in July

Hello everyone!  I hope your Sunday is going well.
Today I'm sharing a Christmas card.
I see so many of you out there making Christmas cards
in July and I was feeling left out.
I just love this sweet snowman from Art Impressions!
He's appropriately called SNOWMAN.

I've also used the stamp called TINY STONES.
When I bought these I wasn't sure what I'd use them for but I've wound up
using them quite a lot.  They add a more realistic dimension to so many scenes...
and they're so darned cute!

My images are colored with Copic markers.
Here are the shades that I used.

Don't forget about the Art Impressions current challenge.
Each week one lucky winner will recieve a $10 gift certificate to
the AI Store.  This weeks theme is BIRDS.

Harvest Frame

Hi Everyone
I've been working on some fall projects so I am in that "fall mood" even though it's 90+ degrees here in my area.. I have the coolest fall stamp, U1542 Harvest Frame .  I made a center step card and thought I'd share this with you today. I colored this with a myriad of Copic Markers. And, BTW, the frame just fits on the center panel on this middle step card. Love it when things just come together.

I added a trellis look to the side panels, used a Martha Stewart punch, then added glitter to add some bling.

I have the nesting pumpkins by Spellbinders so I cut a few of those out  and popped them out with dimensional foam.

Here is the list of items I used:
Ink Pad - India Ink (my favorite permanent ink pad)
Martha Stewart punch
Glitter - Orange Surprise (G1010)
Copic Markers used: E08, E43,E57,Y21,  R29, YG45, YG03, YR09, YR04, YR65, YR68,  V12, Y28, 0 and a few Spica pens.
Designer paper (old, from my stash)
Coredinations - used on the pumpkins
ScorPal -  I used this to score the card and make my cuts for the center step design.

This was a great card to make and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by,

Art Impressions Little Dress Up Girl

Today I want to share with you the most adorable baby girl stamp!
I've made this cute card using Little Dress Up Girl and Have a Ball from Art Impressions.
For the sentiment I just trimmed off the "have a ball" from it.  It originally says...
"It's your birthday...have a ball"

I've used Spellbinders dies to create the border, flourish, circle and matte.
The 1 is from Petaloo.  It comes in white and then can be painted or embellished
any way you like.  The crystals are from Pizzazz A Plenty.  The sentiment was cut out using Stampin' Ups
word window and label punches.  The embossing was done with the Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder.

Here are the Copic colors that I used.
You can enlarge all of my photos for a better look.

The Family

Hi Everyone,
It's Barbara with my first post as an Art Impressions Design Team Member.I wanted to do something  with an old feel to it, for this post. So, I pulled out some things that I haven't used for a while. I' m sure you know exactly what I mean. I have a few faces of women and I've wanted to do something with them for a while. They remind me of women from days gone by and were perfect to use with a film strip. I pulled out a film strip die, cut out two film strips using a transparency sheet and colored them with alcohol inks, espresso and pitch black and I attached the 2 strips together to make a strip that has 3 frames. Next I  stamped on the center pieces of the frames the three images of those women.
Stamps and supplies I used:
G2660  - TC Mini Lady
F2520  -  Margaret
E2518  -  TC Helene Profile
E2549  - TC Mini Family
Espresso Dye Ink
Sizzix Film Strip Die
Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three
Stencil for the background swirls
Sponge
Transparency
Cream Cardstock

I added some background interest to the card using a stencil and attached the film strip to the card front. I also stamped the word family onto a portion of a tag that I cut using a die. Distressing the edges with sponges and a dark brown ink helps to add age to the card.

Little Athlete joins the NY Mets!

Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever Art Impressions design team post!
I am so excited to be on this team.

For my first card I have something that was custom made for a good friend of mine.
She is friends with one of the N.Y. Mets and his wife.  They are expecting their first child
and it's a boy!  My friend asked for a baseball themed card in their team colors.  Not the
easiest task in the world since their colors are Orange and Royal Blue but I think it
turned out nice.

I've used Little Athlete on my card.  I did trim off the football and soccer ball
because the dad is a baseball player and that's what my friend wanted the focus on.

The little ball, bat and stars are plastic buttons.
The stars, octagon and scalloped octagon are Spellbinders dies.
I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the stars
and Stampin' Up punch for the sentiment.
Baby is colored with Copic markers.
