Birthday Wishes & No-line Coloring by Carol Hintermeier

Happy Monday friends!  Today I have a card featuring the beautiful and fun Cake Twist Set!  I also challenged myself to do "no-line" coloring!

I created my A2 card and added some patterned paper that I die cut with a die from the Rectangle Double Stitched die set.  Then I die cut the Twist Frame Die on the card front.  I stamped the cake images onto Neenah Solar White 80# card stock in some light colored ink.  While you can still see the stamped images, the lines disappear and blend into your colors.  My Copic colors are listed below.  When I finished coloring, I die cut the cakes with the dies included with the stamp set.  I also added some Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower centers and clear sparkle to the cake icing.

It's so cool how the two cake images are mirror images!  All you need to do next is to adhere them back to back.  It's very easy to now slip it into the die cut frame.

I stamped the sentiment and trimmed it into a banner shape along with a yellow banner-shaped layer.  I adhered the banners and popped it up with some foam tape.  Add in a few yellow enamel dots, and I'm done!

Birthday Cake Twister | By Jessica Shier

Hello Ai fans!

It's Jessica! Today I have a card using the fun Cake Twister. These are so easy to make. This cake has lovely flowers on it, so I thought using some spring colors would be nice. Lately, I've had cooking shows on in the background, especially baking ones! I really had no idea that there are fresh edible flowers that you can use on an actual cake. Must be why I was drawn to create with this Cake Twister!

I used the cake stamp and die set and colored the image with Copic markers. For the window I used the coordinating Twist Frame die, die-cutting the frame onto an A2 side fold Neenah Solar White 110lb card base. This is off-centered slightly.

Quick tip! I like to lay a piece of copy paper underneath the card stock that I am die cutting so that the lines from my cutting plate don't make an impression on the inside of the card base. I have some truly warped cutting plates, so they do leave behind some crazy texture. 

To add some color to the card base I used a stencil and Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. Then attached the little die-cut stars, which is an accessory die from the Twist Frame die set. I also used the coordinating birthday sentiment to go along with the cake, die-cutting that with a small Art Impressions Oval Double Stitch die.

Cake Twist Birthday Card by Jil Lebel

Hello Ai fans!

I am loving all of the new twisters release.  I combined the Cake Twist set with the Twist Frame Die to make a really fun and colorful birthday card.

I started by stamping the images onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Versafine Claire Nocturne Ink and colored them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  The colors used are listed at the end of this post. I then cut the images out with the matching dies that come in the stamp set and glue them together. I cut Happy Birthday from the Twist Frame Die.  I made an outer layer by tracing around the outside of the die onto white card stock and fussy cutting it with my detail scissors.  I colored the Happy Birthday with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink and attached it to the white layer.

I blended three Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of white card stock with Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes.  I used Cracked Pistachio, Spun Sugar and Broken China inks.   I cut the blended piece of paper out with the Oval Double Stitched Dies and blended the edges with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink.  The oval is attached to a piece of paper from the Echo Park Let's Party 6" x 6" paper collection that was cut with the Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies. Both layers were attached to an A2 card before I used the Twist Frame Die to cut an opening from the center of the oval. I put the cake twist into the opening and attached the Happy Birthday with foam tape.
