Ballerinas gone wild! by Reneé Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

It's that time of year again...when I bombard you with dance teacher cards!  As you may know Makena dances (it's her passion) and every year the competition teams present the teachers with gifts.  I make the cards for all of them.  There were 6 this year.  Here's the first one.

This card went to Miss Becky.

Thank You Tu Tu You!!

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a dance themed card.  This was made for the office manager at my daughter's dance studio.  Each year I make all the cards that the moms put the end of year gifts into.  Miss Sue received this one and if you knew her you'd know how appropriate this is.  It just suits her personality.

I've used just one of the funny ladies from the image Dancers Set of 4 (Sku#3580).
I just used some tape to mask off the other dancer near this one when I inked it up and then removed the tape before I stamped her.

Dancing in STYLE!

Hello Ai friends and happy Monday to you!  I hope you had a great weekend!

I have a fun card to share today, NEON is totally in style right now...
Check out the Girlfriends Dancers (SKU# U3582) with their neon colors tutus!

I decided to have a white background, so that I can show off the Girlfriends neon outfits.
I used these Koh-i-Noor neon colored pencils to color the tutus.  I used Copic markers for rest of the image.  And I added a pieced of tulle pleat trim to complete the card.

Here is the whole card.

Hope you like it and have a great day!

Dancing Try Folds

Well doesn't that sound interesting? Dancing Try Folds... made me chuckle a bit. :) Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

When I first got the try folds I went crazy! I made two different cards, one the correct way... and one... well, my way! So here's the card, the correct way...

One thing I didn't think of when I had first stamped this out was that the ink would bleed through. I kind of like the look, but, I painted over it anyways. I thought it would look better if I had painted over it- It also made the card a little more sturdy. In case you missed the first post with the video about the Try Folds, you can see that post here. I really like the Try Folds, in fact I have another one to show you in a week or two!

So, are you wondering about the dancing part... well, I didn't think it would be fair to show you something you've already seen in a video. So I thought I would share a video I had done a few months ago. It shows a very different coloring technique using alcohol based markers that hasn't been shared on the Art Impressions blog yet. In this particular video, I'm using Letraset's Pro/FlexMarkers. This is one of my favorite techniques, and can be used with any alcohol based marker. It helps to dull the very bright colors you may want to use, but refrain from doing because of their saturation.

The stamp I used in the video is called Dancers.

If you use this technique, I'd love to see what you create! Feel free to share your link in the comment section so I can see it!
