So.....how many of you are thinking about pumpkin lattes? LOL!! Some people are definitely, and others are cursing under their breath with just the mention of it! LOL! I love this stamp T4136 Girlfriend Blend from the Girlfriends Line at Art Impressions! AI has so many wonderful sentiments, so I grabbed one from AICS05 Dare to be Fabulous Set and cut it out using 5133 Flag Double Stitched Dies.
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today and hope you have an amazing weekend! Until next time - stay crafty!!
I'm a huge fan of the girlfriend stamp sets. This week I made two cards using the Cowgirls stamp set. I think this might be my favorite girlfriend set right now.
I stamped the image for both cards onto smooth cardstock using Memento black ink.
After I had them all colored in I fussy cut them out for both cards.
I think the sentiment with this set is so cute "HAVE A BOOT SCOOTIN' TWO STEPPIN' TOE TAPPIN' WILD WEST BIRTHDAY" I die cut a square out of pattern paper using the Double stitched square dies. I stamped the image with black Versafine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
For both cards I just layered some fun pattern paper and adhered the friends on the die of the sentiments. I adhered the whole panel for both cards to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base. I kept both cards very simple but I think with the fun pattern paper and the large sentiment you don't need to add much for a fun card.
This week I made a card using the girlfriend stamp set Yoga!
I started by stamping the image onto water color cardstock using Versafine black ink so I could use water colors to color the image in.
After I had all of the ladies colored in I fussy cut them out. I colored them in with a lot of purples and blues so I ended up matting them onto a double stitched Oval with bright cardstock. I then matted the oval with a pattern paper rounded corner rectangle then matted that with orange pattern paper. I then adhered the whole panel to a 5 1/2"x 4 1/4" card base.
I wanted to stamp the sentiment "KEEP CALM AND YOGA ON" but once I stamped it it got lost on the ladies. I was not happy it was to hard to read so to save it and help it pop more I colored the letters in with a silver gel pen.
I added the sentiment "Age is just a number!" underneath the ladies. I stamped it in a curve so it would match the oval.
I am sharing a card with you this week that shows you can use your scraps to make an adorable card.
For this card I used the same white card base. I also used the left over circle that were from last weeks project. For the stamp set; I chose the 4385 - Laughing Set from Art Impressions. This set is so fun.
I added my circle to my base card. I colored my ladies and raised them up with foam tape.
Don't you just love Nuvo Drops? These are one of the glossy ones. I also stamped my sentiment from the 4385 - Laughing set as well. I colored it with one of my matching Copics. I placed it behind my glitter Banner Die cut piece.
For the inside I used another fun sentiment for the 4385 - Laughing Set. I wanted to incorporate the front to the inside so I used the same Copic and made it look like a brushes stroke image under my sentiment. I LOVE how it turned out.
So ... here is my card from today using the left over pieces from last weeks card, shown here as well. I even tried to color the images the same; didn't they turn out adorable? I have the two perfect friends these are going to. Which one is your favorite?
This newest Girlfriends release is a fun one! I used the yoga set for the release on Thursday and I was just waiting to show you the Cowgirl Set today. They look like they are having so much fun! I really enjoyed coloring them in and I'm sure you will too.
The images were stamped onto Copic X Press It paper with Gina K Designs Black Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers. The colors used are listed at the end of this post. The greeting was stamped with VersaFine Claire Nocturne ink. The image was cut with the Rounded Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies. It was then mounted onto a piece of paper from the Carta Bella Flora No. 2 6" x 6" paper collection. The main paper panel is a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Wood grain paper. It started out white and layers of Distress Oxide inks were added in the colors tea dye, vintage photo, ground espresso and black soot.
Some gems were added with Range Multi medium matte as well as a few iridescent Hero Arts stars.
We're always teasing her because she's always looking for a fan to stand in front of. My card fits with the current challenge on the blog.
I started working at the school 12 yrs ago. There are only 4 of us "originals" left and this image really makes me think of us! I'm the "baby" compared to them they've each worked at the school for 20+ years.
Hope you're having a wonderful start to your weekend! I've got a card today featuring #3580 Dancers Set! These ladies are so much fun and who doesn't love the AI Girlfriends!!!

Aren't these gals too cute? Let's take a look at some fabulous inspiration from Crystal!
This NEW Yoga one is so much fun it might be my new favorite.
I started out by stamping the yoga girlfriends onto watercolor paper with versafine black ink. I stamped it with a stamp platform because I was stamping it onto watercolor paper and some times you don't get a crisp image the first time because of the texture on the paper.
I stamped onto water color paper with versafine ink because I wanted to color the ladies in with Arteza Real brush pens which are watercolor pens.
Their are two ways I like to use Arteza Real brush pens one is to color with them in the darkest shaded area and then pull the color out with a water brush or a wet paint brush the second is to use different shades and pull the colors out with the lighter shade. I went with the second because I wanted the ladies outfits and accessories to be very bright and cheerful. After I colored the ladies in I fussy cut them out.
I stamped the sentiment "It's just a BIRTHDAY! Nothing to get BENT OUT OF SHAPE OVER!" After I stamped the sentiment I die cut it out with a Rounded Rectangle double stitched die. I layered the sentiment and the fussy cut ladies out onto pattern paper. Lastly I adhered everything to a 5 1/2"X 4 1/4" card base.
Happy Stamping!
I look forward to seeing what everyone else creates!
