Summer BBQ Mini Scrapbook Layout Page by Nina

Hello Ai fans, It's Nina's Tuesday again with a whole new project idea. I created a traditional scrapbook layout page but in a cute mini size (6 X 6) using many of Art Impressions adorable sets.

My intention was to create a page that documents a fun Summer day with my family and friends, when we had a BBQ over our lagoon on the Memorial Day. We grilled corn after our meal that was so tasty and my sister took this fun picture of me being so joyful munching my yummy corm :)

I started by printing my photo to the suitable size. I wanted to frame it with this cute frame from the Journal Template Die set so I cut it using red cardstock and I placed foam strips between them for some dimension.

To create the background template, I cut two big main circles from our double stitched circle die set and glued them in a diagonal position on a background pattern paper of bricks.

I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink and an ink blender to lightly frame the bricks pattern paper with ink.

I used the scalloped circle dies that come with the Journal Oval Frame Die Set and also the smaller ones from the Journal Template set. and glued them to white circles that I cut using the Double stitched Circle Dies so the scalloped edges would show from underneath the white circles.

I then cut a lot of utencils from green, red and yellow cardstock and arranged them on the scalloped circles to create these cute clusters to place around my picture. For the utencils I used our Kitchen Mini Die Set.

I placed some alphabet stickers to write the word BBQ on one of the scalloped circles.

I die cut flowers using different dies from my stash to help me decorate all around my layout.

To create the menu black strip I die cut it using the Journal Cover and Bookmark die set and a black scrap. I used the bookmark die and placed it upside down and added alphabet stickers to write the word "MENU". I used my white gel pen to add few lines under.

To create the arrangement of the layout I started by placing my picture frame on the two main circled that we glued earlier a little offset to the bottom right and then started arranging all the decoration pieces that we created above.

I placed the scalloped circles on the left of the picture frame and added flowers coming from underneath the picture frame, added the menu strip under the bigger scalloped circle and finished off by making some utencils peek through from underneath the frame and the scalloped circles.

I trimmed the background to be a little smaller than 6 X 6 inch so it has a black frame all around when I place it on the black journal base which is 6 X 6 inch. I glued them together.

For a final decorative touch I added enamel dots to the centers of the flowers and scattered some all around the layout.

Spring Journal Series - Episode 3 by Janet

Hello Ai Fans! Today I've got four more pages of the Spring Journal I've been working on. I'm having such a good time working on the pages. There are so many choices for cute stamp and die sets that have spring and Easter themes.

Last weekend, I gave you a sneak peak of the Easter chicks with hats and eggs. Below are the other four pages I made using a wide variety of Ai products. Please see the list at the end of the post for all the items used.

These pages are included in Episode 3 of my Spring Journal Video Series. In it I am using Copic markers rather than water color. In this episode, I share all my pages so far and show you how I colored the two large chicks above. I hope you'll join me by clicking on the link below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying the entire Journal line!

Wishing you a very crafty day!

Happy Easter featuring 5792 Front and Back Bunny by Sharon Caudle

 Hello AI Fans!!

Is it starting to feel like Spring in your neck of the woods?  If it is, would you PLEASE send some my way?? LOL!  We woke up to more snow on Saturday morning! I'm trying to bring more Spring our way by making this fun easel card featuring 5792 Front and Back Bunny which is a new release at Art Impressions. Isn't he the cutest??!! I also used 5719 FB Fence and Window Set and 5723 Journal Cover and Bookmark dies. I sandwiched the fence die in between two of those beautiful frames from 5543 Journal Template Die Set. The sentiment is from 5733 Easter Sentiments Set.  I stamped this cutie onto Cryogen white paper and colored him with Copic markers which are listed below. I decided I wanted to make an easel card so you can see both the front and back of this cute little guy!  I really love how all the Journal dies work perfectly when making cards too!!

So you just stand up the top of the card and the Happy Easter sentiment keeps the card standing for display.

And this is how it looks when you have it on display.

This is what it looks like when it's all closed up.  It folds flat for mailing or storing. I had to stand it on its edge to grab a picture, so it looks like it's poking out a bit in the middle. It doesn't look like that when it's laying flat.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and until next time - stay crafty!

Copic markers used:

E33, E51, E53
R12, R81, R83
YG01, YG03
B000, B00
Y15, Y18

Janet's Spring Journal Using Alcohol Ink Markers - Episode 2

Hello Ai fans! Well, after a long wait I have the second episode of my Spring Journal series completed. The link to the video is at the bottom of this post.

In this video, I completed two pages using many different Front Porch Series sets in the way they have been intended - mixed and matched to create the scene you really want.

As a reminder, this is the journal cover that was completed in Episode 1.

Below is page 1. The wreath comes from 5486 Front Porch Garden Set. The letter is from 5493 Front Porch Valentine Set. The birdhouse is from 5488 Front Porch Easter Set. Can you guess who is behind the door?

It's the new 5732 Bunny FB! This is an adorable image with both a front and a back. I cut the doorway out so that he can be seen on both the first and second page. I gave him a letter from the 5493 Front Porch Valentine Set. I love I could show his excitement over getting some happy mail!

And now you see the bunny from the back side. On this page the daffodils come from 5488 Front Porch Easter Set. The tulips are from 5493 Front Porch Valentines Set. The flower vines are from 5486 Front Porch Garden Set. The letters and box are from 5493 Front Porch Valentines Set. I used a page die from the 5543 Journal Template Die Set and the 5741 Valentine Paper Pad for this page.

Click on the video thumbnail for the video tutorial for these pages.

NEW JOURNAL VIDEO SERIES - Spring Journal Using Copic Markers by Janet

Hello and welcome to the weekend! I'm excited to announce that I have started a Spring Journal video tutorial using Ai Dies, Stamps, and Copic markers. If you want to get ideas on how to improve your marker skills while making a wonderful journal, I invite you to follow along. I'll announce each new tutorial video here and you can follow along as you wish.

I'm going to be using both watercolor journal stamps and regular line stamps too. The Journal line is so versatile and certainly not limited to water coloring.

The first episode will introduce you to all the page and pocket die sets now available. There are four with the newest set just released 5723 Journal Cover & Bookmark Dies. I construct the cover with no stamps so that you can see the benefits of the journal die sets made to work specifically for the journal format.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying the entire Journal line!

Wishing you a very crafty day!
