Halloween Journal Back Cover and Cat GCH GIVEAWAY!! by ReneƩ Matarese

Hello everyone and welcome to the back page of my Halloween Journal!

This time I've added a Gift Card Holder.

Two of my journals feature the 5341 – Black Cat GCH Set (though he certainly could be used any time of year in any color) and my third journal features the 5342 – Pumpkin GCH Set.

You do need the 5344 – Envelope GCH Set to hold the gift card and glue the GCH elements to or you could just use the dies on a card of scrapbook page but they wont hold a gift card.

I'm giving away a 5341 – Black Cat GCH Set.  This is JUST the cat dies.  The envelope template is not included. See the link up at the bottom of my post to enter to win.  U.S. addresses only please.  You just need to enter some sort of crafty item you've created and leave your first name and last initial. I will announce the RANDOM winner next Sunday on my blog post.  If you win, please contact Leah at Feedback@artimpressions.com.  I'll share this information again next week when I announce the winner.
Don't these adorable little dies add so much fun to your creations!  They certainly don't even need to be in a journal.  How cute would these be on a card or scrapbook page!

I fit the little envelopes into a pocket from 5543 – Journal Template Die Set.  BOO was made with 5562 – Journal Letter Die Set and the little fall embellishments are from 5604 – Halloween Journal Die Set.
Some of the papers are from 5605 – Halloween Journal Paper Pack.

I used Copic markers to color some of the dies.
YR16, Y19, E35, YG91, YG93

Add your photo, first name and last initial (US addresses only) and one entry per person. Good luck!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Pumpkin Gift-Card Holder in a Pocket by Nina

Hello Ai fans, Nina here with an adorable Gift Card Holder in a card with a pocket. I know it is confusing :), I will explain it all, Let's begin.

I used the dies from the set Envelop GCH Set and it's Halloween Add-on Pumpkin Gift Card Holder Set. These two sets will create the envelop where the gift card is placed.

I used papers from Happy Haunting Paper collection and die cut the envelop from purple pattern paper and the pumpkin from orange pattern paper. I also die cut the mini pieces that create the pumpkin eyes, mouth, stem and spider.

I gave extra depth to the edges of the orange pumpkin piece and the purple envelop with a blending tool and distress inks. I used darker purple and darker orange than the pattern papers.

I attached the pumpkin pieces with glue to my pumpkin and glued the whole pumpkin on the front of the card-holder.  Now that the envelop is ready we can start working on our greeting card.

I wanted to place my envelop in a pocket on the inside of the greeting card. So, I die cute the pocket using the pocket die included in Ai Journal Template Die Set and starry black paper. I folded the flaps along the score lines the die created and placed double sided tape on the flaps and attached it to the striped paper from the same Happy Haunting collection.

I wanted to place some fun element to peek out of the pocket when the card envelop is out of the pocket. So I found this cute black cat in the ephemera and embellished around her with enamel star stickers.

To decorate the outside of the card I used the Double stitched Round corner rectangle dies to cut a purple panel and decorated on top pieces from stickers and ephemera from the same colleciton. I then decorated it with enamel dots.

Quick Pumpkin Gift Card Holder

 Hello Ai fans!

These gift card holders are so fun and super easy to create. With Halloween so close Perfect for giving someone an extra delicious treat.

There is no coloring on this pumpkin! I first die cut all of the pumpkin pieces from the set using Ranger Watercolor paper, also cutting the spider twice. For the color I used Distress Oxide inks in;

Spiced Marmalade

Peeled Paint

Dusty Concord

Black Soot

Applying the ink pads separately on to a glass media mat ( Art Impressions Watercolor Pallette works great also.) Then spraying clean water on to the ink. Just enough to soak into the paper and far enough apart that they don't blend.

I then placed each die cut into the ink and left it alone for a little while. This is when you grab more coffee, a snack, or let the dogs outside. If you want the color darker just repeat.

For the envelope I used a piece of pattern paper. Just a few pieces of adhesive and the envelope is glued together. Then I added all the Jack-o-Lantern pieces together and let dry.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Happy Stamping.
