Swinging Pup by Dori Mendiola

Welcome to my first Design Team post.  

I had fun making an interactive card to fit with the current challenge "Raining Cats and Dogs".  

It's pretty simple and fun to make.

I began by stamping the dog images from AI sets #SC0649 - His and Hers Flying High and #SC0651 - His and Hers Campers onto cyrogen white cardstock and colored with copic markers (colors are listed below).   I then fussy cut both of the pups out.  This step is optional:  I stamped (but didn't color) a second one of each on heavy cardstock.  I fussy cut those out as well just inside the black lines and glued them behind the colored ones.  I like the stability and dimension.  

For the background, I stenciled clouds with Distress Oxide Broken China ink onto a piece of white cardstock and used the largest #5062 - Double Stitch Rounded A2 rectangle die.  I die cut three cloud panels and inked the cloud edge with the same ink.  I die cut each of the cloud panels with the rectangle die as well so that the edges would match up when layered all together.  

For the mechanism - I glued a 3/4 inch wide piece of acetate to the back of the parachute and punched a hole at the top where the pop dot will adhere through to create the swing effect.  I then trimmed up the acetate so that it won't show when the pup swings - see picture below.  I adhered one layer of the clouds directly onto the base cardstock and measured where I wanted the pup to fall.  Then I adhered a pop dot onto the base through the hole.   Place foam tape on the back side of the next cloud layer, leaving space for the swing mechanism.  Before adhering to the card, test the mechanism by holding the cloud layer over the pop dot and make sure your image swings freely.  Remove the pop dot release paper as well and the foam tape and place onto the card.  Lastly, add the last cloud layer over the top of the others. 

   

To finish my card, I added two layers of hillside with patterned paper to the bottom after cutting the bottom/side edges with the AI Double Stitched A2 Rounded rectangle die.

Tasha here sharing card created with the SC0649 - His & Hers Flying High Set!

This set is one of my favorites and it really works well for year-round cards! I wanted to add a Valentine's Day feel to this project, so I added hearts to the woman's top and colored the plane with shades of red. This couple looks so cute!

For the background, I colored the sky with Copic Markers and stamped several fluffy clouds. I also added some stars with a white gel pen; the sky looks so dreamy!

Lastly, I added layers of black, blue glitter, and pink paper to complete the design.

Up Up and Away

 Happy Friday Ai Fans!

Tasha here sharing a new mini slimline card created with the fun #SC0649 - His & Hers Flying High Set.

All of the images were stamped with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I used masking paper to block off the stamping before ink blending the background. This couple looks like they are having a great time flying through the air and I love the doggie stamp!

This set includes several sentiment stamps and this cool banner. I like the "Birthday Wishes" greeting and the size works great on a slimline card!

To complete the card, I added layers of yellow and blue before attaching it to a white card base. I love this cheerful card and look forward to sending it to someone special!

Fly High with Bri Firth

 Hi everyone! Today I am sharing my creation for Art Impressions Quick and Simple challenge. For more information on this challenge check out the announcement here. For my submission I used the His & Hers Flying High stamp set to create a card with a simple sky background and a simple interior design.  This card is also featured on my personal blog, check it out here! 

I used Broken Glass and Tumbled Glass Distress oxides to ink blend the simple sky background onto the stitched rectangle die cut. I stamped the clouds in Broken Glass oxide ink and shaded the edges. I fussy cut the clouds and placed them on the card filling the blank space around the airplane and the banner. I colored the plane and the couple with alcohol markers and attached the image to the card using foam tape for dimension. I used a fine tip black pen to draw the rope connecting the banner to the plane. I matted the sky background and adhered it to the card base.

To decorate the interior of the card I stamped the other sentiments included in this stamp set with Broken Glass oxide ink in a zig-zag pattern. I stamped the cloud image in various locations to fill the empty space. I wanted the sentiments to look like they were floating in the sky.

I don't know about you, but I really like making all occasion cards. This one could be used for just saying "hey" or you could turn it into a birthday card by adding a sentiment on the inside that says "you're age, that's what's up!!". LOL! Hello AI Fans!! 

Today's card features SCO649 His and Hers Flying High Stamp Set. This was such a quick and easy card to make! I just grouped the images together on a stamp platform and then cut them out with a circle die. That's why I love Art Impressions stamps!!

Wobbly Bear Birthday by Reneé Matarese

Hello Ai fans!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card with you.

I used the 4801 – Panda Slider Set

except that I thought it would be fun to put him on an action wobble!

You can find the entire Slider series here.  The slider die can also be used with the Stacker series.

I also used SC0649 – His & Hers Flying High.

My card is pretty dimensional. The plane and several of the clouds are popped up on foam tape and the bear is on an action wobble.

Here you can see him popped up on the action wobble.  Give it a tweak and he wobbles! I tried to take a video but my camera has a stabilizer on it so it slows it down to the point where he barely (bear-ly...ha ha!!  I love puns!) looks like he's wobbling.

Flying By!

Hello Ai Fans!

Today I'm "flying by" with a super cute birthday card using the stamp set from Art Impressions. This cute stamp set is called His and Hers Flying set and you can find it at your local Michaels' store by Hampton Arts.

As soon as I saw this paper, I knew I wanted to pop up clouds with the sentiments from this set and have them flying behind the plane. There are so many things you can do with set and it would be a great addition to your Ai stamp collection!
