Top O' the Morning to Ya! by Tasha

Happy Friday, Art Impressions Friends!

I’m excited to share a festive St. Patrick’s Day card featuring the adorable 5006-Sham-rock Set. This little leprechaun always brings a smile!

I started by stamping and masking the leprechaun so I could position the pot o' gold perfectly. Masking paper also helped me add some four-leaf clovers behind the pot, creating a fun custom scene.

For the ground, I stamped more clovers and used green markers to color the grass. A soft blue sky and a cheerful rainbow completed the background.

The set’s sentiment selection is fantastic—“Let the shenanigans begin!” in bold black ink felt just right for this playful design.

To finish, I layered orange, green, gold glitter paper, and clover pattern paper to bring in more of the classic Irish colors.

Hope this card brings a little extra luck and joy to your day! Have a fabulous weekend!

CASE that card Challenge #398

Hello AI Fans!

Welcome to our CASE that card challenge!

We want you to show us your cards that were inspired by someone else.
This can be someone from either of our Design Teams, someone from a fan group, or just someone that you saw online. The card you CASE (it stands for Copy And Steal Everything) doesn't have to be an Art Impressions card. You can just use Art Impressions stamps and/or dies to show how to recreate the card you loved. Be sure to give credit to the original artist whenever possible and try to share a photo of their card along with yours.

For example, Sharon's card was inspired by Kelly Latevola, and Sharon used her idea, along with Art Impressions stamps and dies to create something similar. We hope you all like this idea.  Before we see Sharon's AMAZING creation, let's see who won our Drink Up challenge.

For our Top Spot we selected Consuelo G.

She used 5222 – Coffee Gift Card Holder which is no longer available, but we have an alternative that you'll probably love just as much and it's on sale right now! 5343 – Java GCH Set.

Congratulations to you both. Your cards were so pretty.
Enjoy your new stamps.

Now let's see what Sharon has in store for you for her Feature. You are going to be blown away by her incredible puzzle card. I've never seen one of these but I'm instantly in love!

Now, here's Sharon!

I'm so excited to get to show you our brand new challenge that's starting today, CASE that card! Here's a link to the adorable card I CASE'd by Kelly Latevola. I just loved her card and I couldn't wait to recreate it.  Now I did use a lot more stamps than she did, and it got a little tricky getting them stamped on all the layers correctly. But it only took me a couple tries and I just think it turned out so cute that I believe it was definitely worth it!  Here's a picture of the card with the puzzle solved...

And then here's a picture of it jumbled up the way you would send it. The top two layers spin really easily and the recipient has to match up the layers to see the finished card. Isn't that so fun??!!

You start by cutting out three or more (you can do as many as you want - but it adds a lot of work!) layers with your circle dies. You need to find the center of them, so the easiest way is to cut the same circle in a piece of light weight paper like typing paper. I folded it in half, then folded in half again. When you unfold it, you can line it up with your cardstock circle and punch a hole right through the center. Once all your holes are punched in the center, I took my paper piercer and put it through each center hole lining them up. Gripping them tight so they wouldn't move, I slid them off the paper piercer and onto my Misti.  I'm sorry, but you have to have a Misti or some type of stamp platform as you need to restamp each layer in the same spot. So I positioned the stamp, stamped it with all three layers of the panels in place, then carefully making sure nothing moves, remove the top layer, ink up your stamp and stamp it again. Then repeat for the 3rd layer. The really important part is to make sure the remaining layers don't move so it stamps again in the exact same spot. Continue until you have all the layers stamped the way you want.

This is how it looks once all three layers are stamped. Next step is coloring them.

Once I colored all three layers, I grabbed the new Basic Green Paper Pack! I love these new packs of paper!!! I used a mini white brad to connect the three panels.  Make sure you put something under the tines of the brad when you spread them so they're not too tight. You want to be able to spin the top two panels easily to work the puzzle. Now it's time to assemble.

I matted the puzzle with a larger green panel cut from a die from my stash to help it stand out from the background. And I do love dimension, so I doubled up on the mounting tape on the under side.

I created the card base and then added the puzzle on top. Of course I had to add a bow and a few drops from a gold pearl pen and it was finished!  So once again, a picture of the card front jumbled up...

And then how it looks once the recipient solves the puzzle. :)

I hope you enjoyed my interactive card today and that you choose to enter the "Case That Card" challenge for a chance to win a free set of your choice!! Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today and until next time - stay crafty!

Here is Kelly's card that inspired me.

Shake Your Shamrocks! by Janet

It's going to be St. Patrick's Day soon so I decided to make a card for the occasion before it's too late! I have a couple friends who get such a kick out of me sending them St. Patrick's cards. And why not? They are fun to make and give!

Art Impressions has a super fun set for the holiday called 5006 - Shan-rock Set. I chose to make the leprechaun the focal point of my card. He's doing a good Irish jig for the occasion. I also colored and fussy cut out the hat, shamrock, pot of gold, and the beer mug. It's hard to tell in my photo but I stamped the coins on gold metallic paper, cut and pieced them into the pot.

To make this card I used the 5061 - Square and 5063 - Rectangle Double Stitched Dies to make windows in a piece of 4" x 5 1/4"cardstock from 6009 - Basic Green PP. You can buy dies that will cut windows out but why do that when you can make your own with your Ai stash of dies? Because they are double-stitched, the windows are framed in stitches which provides a professional and finished look.

I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and then glued the window panel on top of a piece of dark green cardstock. I put gold glitter cardstock behind the pot for some added interest. The finished window panel was glued on a white A2 card base. I mounted the images using foam tape. The final step was to add three gold stars as accents.

I hope you get to shake your shamrocks this St. Patrick's Day! Thanks so much for joining me here at the blog. As always, please visit the Ai Store for the products I used and all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects. Happy creating!

Now for the star of our show...we have an AMAZING card from Janet.
She worked so hard on this card and it's simply gorgeous!

Tell us about your card Janet.

Hello Ai Fans and welcome to a brand new challenge. This one is called Shake It Up. You can play along by linking up your own shaker card or any card that shakes in some way. It's my pleasure to be the feature artist for this challenge and I am thrilled to show you how I made my shaker card to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! This year, it falls on March 17th so it's just the right time to make a St. Patty's card. My images are from the humorous 5006 - Sham-rock Set. Below are all the images I colored. I didn't use all of them but anything I don't use, I just put back in the stamp package for the next time I pull out a set. This lady is doing a jig and is so cheerful. I love her green suit! I also gave a try at coloring a green beer.

My card is just a series of rectangles with the top rectangle being a frame. Except for the largest green mat, I cut all the rectangles using the 5724 - Nested Rectangle Dies. I love all the new nested sets because it provides so many matting options! Below is a photo of the set. I marked the dies I used to cut my rectangles with blue washi tape. These dies worked great on an A2 sized card base, I used the following dies as marked in blue. Working from the outside in, I use the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th dies.

Below you can see two matted rectangles and the shaker frame. This is how I cut and stacked them. The largest rectangle set on the left is a white A2 card base with a piece of green cardstock cut at 3 7/8" x 5 3/16" on top. This is the only rectangle that I cut without a die. The second rectangle set was cut with the 1st and 3rd die. The frame was cut using the 4th and 7th die.

This is the 2nd rectangle set from above just after I cut them out.

The 4th and 7th dies are used to create a frame. This will be the shaker frame with an acetate window. Under the window, I'll add all kinds of fun St. Patrick's themed shaker pieces.

Once the white frame was cut, I cut another piece of acetate using the 4th die and glued it to the back of the frame. Then I added three layers of foam tape around the frame. Normally I use only two layers but my shaker pieces are large and I wanted to make sure everything would be able to move freely in the shaker. Here you can see the frame turned upside down so you can see the foam tape. You can also see the shaker bits I used. This came in a shaker set I had in my stash. If I didn't have this, I would have used green and gold sequins.

Here's closer look at the thickness of the three layers of foam on the back of the frame. I purchase my foam tape in rolls from Amazon in different widths. I used quarter inch width for this frame. It fits perfectly!

At this stage, I had glued the rectangles on top of the A2 card base as well as the shaker with all kinds of gold and green St. Patrick's Day goodies inside. To attach the shaker, simply place all the shaker bits you want in the center area of the shaker. Then peel the backer off of the foam tape and carefully place it on the card being sure to apply pressure so that the seal is solid so all the bits will stay inside the shaker. You should also be careful to make sure that all the bits are in the center so they don't get caught under the foam tape.

And that's all it takes to create this shaker card! I really like the multiple frames that stack and highlight the shaker in the middle. After this was prepared, it was ready to decorate. I framed the shaker with the pieces I had colored and cut out. I thought it would be fun to have her holding the hat and have a 4-leaf clover sticking out of the pot of gold. I made a looped green bow and glued the beer stein to the center. Although there are many fun sentiments in this stamp set, I really didn't think one was needed. I will likely add one of them to the inside of the card instead.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll stop by the store to see all the things you need for your card, journal, and tag making projects.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Card by Tasha!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Ai Friends!

Tasha here sharing a new Spring card featuring the 5425-WC Peeking Animals and 5006 – Sham-rock Set! I love the Ai animal sets and this little bunny image is too cute!

For this card, I started by stamping the bunny image with black ink and used masking paper to cover him before stamping the pot of gold and shamrock. I used Copic Markers for the coloring and a white gel pen to add little accents. The bunny is the perfect size for layering on top of the gold coins; he is one lucky bunny!

After stamping, I masked off the shamrock and pot of gold before stenciling the background. I made my own cloud stencil with a cloud die and used light Distress Oxide ink to create the rainbow. I like that you can still see the clouds under the rainbow colors,

For the greeting I stamped "Happy St. Patrick's Day!" with green ink and layered it with gold glitter paper. The 5006 – Sham-rock Set includes several sentiments, but I think this one worked great!

Lastly, I added green grass, fun shamrock themed pattern paper, and a little green gem to complete the design. I had so much fun creating this card and hope you are inspired to make a fun Spring or St. Patrick's Day card!

Have a great day!
